I wasn't affected, but I did live in one of the neighboring states of NY when the towers fell.

Tragic thing really. My history teacher had a student who had a cousin who worked in the towers(can't remember which one) and he talked to his cousin the day before the attack. He watched the whole news broadcast, just sat through it all.

His cousin was later confirmed to have died in the incident.

Well my family are british. I can remember watching it happen on tv though. We were sat watching the news, they were talking to a fire-fighter about something (i can't remember exaclty) and the camera zoomed in the twin towers when the plane hit. As i remember my step dad said 'was that real or a joke?' and my mother began to cry as my uncle was in south tower.
Apart from that (and recieving news my uncle wasn't actually in, he'd left hours ago) we felt sorry for all the victims and their families.
The hours it took for my aunt to call and say my uncle was okay was agonising, i can't imagine what it felt like for the families who's members were actually in the plane or the towers when they were hit and collapsed.
As far as my family are concerened - apart from giving a small ceremony each year on the day, we do nothing but continue with our lives. It's only on the day we 'remember' what happened and the poor souls who lost their lives/lost their loved ones, and invite their spirits to enter our home for shelter (i'm Pagan and my mother supports that). We throw a small celebration to acknowledge what happened, to celebrate the passing of lives, and to celebrate the bereavement and stength of those left in the living world.

Strange..but you did ask XD

They weren't. We don't live in the US for starters. But we went to NYC three months before it happened.

My family was in Toronto at the time. It didn't affect us at all. And if it had, I wouldn't remember, because I was only 4.
Though, my mom was scheduled to have gone in for a business trip that week, and I'm glad she refused.
