euurghh... i hate twilight. Theres so many amazing books out there that are being overlooked because of twilights obnoxious, flat, pointless storylines hogging everyones attention.

When I finally get a book published im afraid that becauee of Twilight no one will notice it
so truthful love is being with a basically dead guy about 100 years older than you who wants to eat you?!!?!?!? oh yeah, who WOULDN'T want to be Bella Swan.
love the picture:X - i don't hate the basic ideas completely but i think the saga is - in fact - written by a 10-year-old and and meyer just took the credit - or anyway this is the only way i can explain the writing and lack of style:S
i love the picture :) people are banning great books like harry potter and even doing book burnings, and twilight SUCKS and everybody is leaving twilight alone. absolutely THE worst book out there to read.
I read Twilight when I was in sixth grade, and I really liked them and thought they were pretty good. But now I really don't care. I'm more of a "semi-anti", but I'm not one of those obsessed ravage antis who swear everytime the author is mentioned. That's just mean, guys.
The good thing about Twilight is, whether you liked the books or not, you get over them eventually. It's not a big deal.

Even though I don't like Twilight, I really like this answer because it states your opinion without making people feel bad. (And yes, I may sound like a hypocrite)
I have read them. All four of them. Worst books I've ever read. They were horrible. Don't read them. They will kill your brain cells and they are full of subliminal messaging with not a single positive message and a pathetic, whiny protagonist who is unbearable. Just... don't.
Whyu do you say that? I mean, how are they not positive? TO go after what you want & not give up? How is that not 100% positive? Wow. And they are not pathetic. If they were so pathetic, why'd you "waist your time" reading them, huh?
^^ chill!!! It's her opinion, she can say what she thinks. And just because you are blind to the fact that there are better books out there, doesn't mean you have to be so negative against people's likes and dislikes!!!
i have read them and honestly think they're really good books, but i'm NOT obsessed with them. i honestly think no book is really worth obsessing over THAT MUCH, and im a major reader. they are good books, but i HAVE read better
most of twilight haters i think hate it because of the way people obsess over it! i dont think obsessive readers realize that THEY are the reason people hate the books so much!! but people who say they hate the books but havent even read them, thats just UNFAIR JUDGEMENT, too! and the whole vampire hype is totally unnecessary, as well. there ARE other things to read about! so while i DID like the books, i also don't like the whole hype they and their topic is getting
I have read all four books & I love them. they are just my kind of story; Romance with a fantastical twist. The characters are so vivid & I love it. :) I think the story line is great & just a downright great book. :)

Fair enough but you should respect the people who don't like it too. Not everyone is going to like it and not everyone SHOULD.
I don't like the twilight series at all,in fact i really don't like any vampire books. It would really gross me out to have to sit and read books about creatures sucking other people's blood. I mean seriously when you start to think about it, it is really disgusting.
I have. I did. I got obsessed with it for a while. Now I'm over it. What annoys me is that 90% of books in shops are vampire books. It's unfair. It's the hype that is annoying and the people who go on about how crap it is are JUST as annoying. Just shut-up about it!

BUT! It does send out bad messages about relationships and indeoendance, and has set feminists back about 100 years.
Ive read them. compared to the movies, the books are great cuz the movies suck compared to the books... but if ur looking for books like them, read the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead... so much better
I have read them all .. I no I didn't like them .. They send out bad messages to their target audience which is teenage girls who we all know are easily influenced (hence the huge hype), and that is not meant to be offensive, it is just a fact .. But also because I am a big vampire fan and this is just weak.. sparkling vampires that go out in the day and don't drink human blood.. Where's the fun in that? Wait, sparkling vampires on their own *vomits*.. There are much better books out there, I just think these are inappropriate, they are backwards and really they are written badly..
If you like them, good for you, but do try to understand some of the underlying themes in them are wrong.

its not just for teenage girls, its for anyone of any age
oh and in terms of the target audience; "The Twilight series falls under the genre of young adult" and "The Young Adult Library Services (YALSA) of the American Library Association (ALA) defines a young adult as someone between the ages of twelve and eighteen"
