What scares your parents the most about this career and your celebrity status?

They are scared about me losing my childhood and throwing some memories away that I'd otherwise have as senior year memories. [My mom] says she doesn't want me to regret this 20 years down the road. But if it's your time, it's your time. God put me here for a reason. I'm supposed to be doing this and using music in a positive light. If I do that, there will be no regrets.

How about getting used to all the rumors that inevitably come with celebrity, particularly about your love life? Are you able to laugh at them, or...

Scotty got in on the fun and he tweeted some pictures of how close he was to the field. He said; “View from the GREEN MONSTER in Fenway Park! Are you kidding me?!?!?!! Got to meet JoshHamilton too! we talked about the Garner vs Athens Drive football game and @IamSecond. Let’s see if he hits one to me on the monster, hahah”
Us: Now that you’re the American Idol and you're in school, are you still single?

SM: Yeah, I’m still single. I've been single for about three or four years running and nothing's changed. I get the prom proposals in Minnesota when I'll be in North Carolina or the marriage proposals or whatever. It’s definitely a change, but back home it hasn't been too much different.

Us: Now that you’re famous and everything, the most beautiful girl in school isn't throwing herself at you?

SM: I wouldn’t let that happen. I wouldn't let someone who didn't give me the time of day before come back in and...

Raised in Garner, N.C., Scotty McCreery grew up on Country Music. He was a celebrity in his hometown, where he played local shows and toured with his high school’s award-winning chorus. And … that’s about it as far as this young man’s pre-celebrity background, since he had already rocketed to fame by winning “American Idol”’s top honors at 17.

Country music artist and reigning "American Idol" winner Scotty McCreery will perform for the students of Burlington High School on Monday, Nov. 14.

Burlington won the honor by collecting the most toys in a Toys For Tots contest among area high schools, conducted by country radio station FM 106.1.

From the area high schools that entered, FM 106.1 confirmed five finalists and the collection drive began at Burlington, South Milwaukee, Kewaskum, Greendale and Waukesha West high schools.

The local U.S. Marine Toys For Tots Foundation collected the toys and about one-third of the nearly 10,000 toys came from the Burlington High students.

McCreery will also open for Brad Paisley at the Bradley Center on Friday, Jan 13.

Today, Scotty McCreery finally went to pick up his truck which was awarded to him along with the title of season 10's 'American Idol'. Scotty went with the F150 King Ranch!

"I'm just a country boy
I drive a 4 by 4
It's usually covered in mud from the axle to the door
It's a little banged up; a little too much rust, but when you're sitting beside me in my old truck
You make that look good"
HUGE thanks to @Ford today for all their support and providing me with the best truck a guy could ask for! #F150 #KingRanch

It looks like the "American Idol" season 10 tour is going to be one day longer than originally planned. The show's grand finale was set to occur in The Philippines on September 20, but now new reports have the top 11 contestants actually ending up wrapping things up in the city of Manila one day later.

So why was the additional show added? More than anything else, it seems to have to do with the immense popularity of the show overseas -- in particular Thia Megia, who has major cultural roots in the country. (She also has some sort of relationship with singer Charice Pempengco, who is one of...

American Idol winner Scotty McCreery, who last month topped the Billboard 200 chart with his debut release Clear As Day, knows all eyes will be on him when he takes the stage for the album cut that the show’s producers asked him to perform: his cover of “Walk In the Country,” a tune Urban sang when he was in the country trio The Ranch in 1997. “I’ll be in a room with Nashville’s biggest stars, and in a way I’ll be singing to prove myself and to say, ‘This is me,’” McCreery tells EW. “I’m still the newbie in Nashville. I’m that country-music fan that gets all giddy...

Many of the songs on Clear As Day embrace Scotty’s youth. Opening track “Out Of Summertime” features shuffling percussion, mandolin and a quick hook as lyrics flow with reflection on young love. On “Walk In the Country,” sharp acoustic guitars support Scotty’s rolling vocals as he (ironically?) sings, I’m so sick of all them TV shows, I need some dirt road under my feet, with conviction. “Write My Name On Your Hand,” one of the album’s biggest highlights, vividly captures the innocence of teenage love. After tales of rope swings, rivers and sharing Coca-Colas, Scotty sings...

Scotty McCreery is getting one heck of an 18th birthday present: His debut album comes out just four days before he turns the big 1-8. Despite being a record-making rookie, this Idol isn’t as green as he looks: Scotty’s vision is Clear As Day.

"Scotty knew what he wanted to record," Universal Music Group Nashville VP of marketing Tom Lord tells Billboard. “He has a really good sense of himself. When you hear the songs you go, 'That seems like the guy I saw on American Idol.'"
Scotty, who is recording with country legend Keith Urban and touring with Brad Paisley next year, wanted to keep it young while acknowledging the history of the genre.

"I could have made a record where I was trying to sound like a 40-year-old country singer, but that's not what I wanted to do," Scotty tells Billboard.
Clear As Day hits stores October 4.

Set to be released on October 4, 2011, Scotty McCreery's debut album Clear As Day now has a song-by-song available for it and we thought we'd share it with all of the Scotty fans out there looking to know more about the album from the American Idol season 10 winner himself.

1. “Out Of Summertime” (Jonathan Singleton and Tim Nichols)

“’Out Of Summertime’ was one of the three potential singles that I heard when I was still on Idol in the Top Three. It’s a really fun song. It’s about a summertime fair and it’s a teenage love kind of thing. They could have had something, but they...

Q. What's one thing worth remembering in tough times?

There's always the light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes you've got to work through some tough times and you've got to work really hard. It might seem like it's never going to work out or you're never going to break through, or you're never going to get that record deal, but if you just keep working through, you never know what can happen.

Q. When you're tired and don't want to work anymore, how do you get yourself to keep going?

You've just got to have that extra drive in you. This is a job where it's a lot of fun, but it can get wearing,...

Scotty McCreery has had some awfully big moments in 2011, not the least of which was winning Season 10 of "American Idol" in front of a huge TV audience.

But his North Carolina homecoming ranks right up there.

The American Idols LIVE! tour stopped on Wednesday night in Raleigh, just minutes from McCreery's hometown of Garner; he and his 10 fellow finalists spent the night in a hotel in the capital, then their caravan of tour buses rolled on to Charlotte's Time Warner Cable Arena for a Thursday night show.

"It was definitely a moment I'll never forget going out to the RBC Center, an arena that...

Garner, N.C. — For his second music video, "The Trouble With Girls," "American Idol" winner Scotty McCreery decided to film with friends instead of actors and use his high school instead of a sound stage.

"We had a lot of options of where to choose, and I said, 'Why don't we just go to Garner and shoot with my people and my friends and people I've known all these years?'" he said.
McCreery, his friends and a production team spent 12 hours Saturday shooting the video at Garner Magnet High School. They moved throughout the school, shooting in a science classroom, the cafeteria and on the baseball...

GARNER -- When Scotty McCreery returned home last month to perform in the "American Idol" concert, a Nashville film crew was on hand to shoot footage for a documentary on the young singer.

The film will air on the Great American Country cable channel in October.

The crew, led by Todd Cassetty, interviewed Scotty at Raleigh's RBC Center on July 27, then toured Garner the next day, gathering interviews for "Introducing," a biographical series on GAC that features rising country stars.

"It's amazing to drive around town and see all the signs people have made to support him," Cassetty said of his...

Both Idol stars have formally entered the country fray, with McCreery’s single “I Love You This Big” and Alaina’s “Like My Mother Does” out at country radio and on iTunes. “I Love You This Big” made its debut at No. 32 on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart, the highest country debut for a new artist’s first single in modern chart history. In spite of that, neither teen sees success as ensured. Both are at the beginning of a process.

McCreery also must work to differentiate himself from baritone-voiced stars such as Chris Young and his own contemporary idol, Josh Turner.

American Idol" champ Scotty McCreery is excited to be hitting the road supporting Brad Paisley in the early part of 2012. But he's going in with his guard up.

"I've got to keep my eyes open, 'cause (Paisley) is a huge practical joker," McCreery tells Billboard.com. "I have to make sure I don't get pranked too bad." Or he could strike first. "Well...I've got a couple in my back pocket," McCreery acknowledges. I've got to think of something good, 'cause he's very unique with his."
McCreery and the Band Perry roll with Paisley starting Jan. 12 in Grand Rapids, Mich., and finishing March 3 in...

Scotty McCreery is finishing his ‘American Idols Live’ tour later this month as he preps to release his debut CD ‘Clear As Day’ on October 4th.

Scotty explains that the album will feature some “Rockin songs where they will be loud and upbeat and then some intimate songs…some of them will make you cry.” Scotty also explains that one factor in deciding a few of the songs were helped by his Mom’s reaction.

“Mama cried on a couple of them so we told all the guys to label them, when they sent me songs and demos I would email them back and say….Well it passed the Mama crying test so it must be a good one.”

Scotty is hoping that Mama knows hit songs as he expresses that he hopes the feeling becomes mutual to the fans.

“Hopefully it will have the same effect on you guys out there.”

Scotty and the other Idol finalist will complete the ‘Idols Live Tour’ on September 20th with a show in Quezon City, Philippines.
