When his eyes finally opened, it was dusk outside, and an abormal heavy presence was on his chest. His dark eyes shifted down, the darkness of the room making it hard to focus; but there, sleeping right over his heart was Lily Evans. He swallowed, hoping that the pounding of his heart wouldn't wake her. He cleared his throat, the area where the potion had slid down his asophagus felt raw, and irritated. Severus glanced around, he was the only one in the hospital this early in the year, and figured that he was the only one with such bad luck. His eyes closed, shutting the surrounding world out, but keeping his world close to his heart. He could hear her breathing, and even though she had ceased to speak, he could hear her voice echoing sweetly in the depths of his mind. He felt Lily move, and opened his eyes once more, to glance down at her. Lily's eyes were open, and she met his eyes with much embarassment. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to dose of..." her voice was coated with sleep. Lily pulled her head of his chest, Snape's heart still beating fast. no, don't go. Please, stay with me. he thought, and quickly stalling for time he asked "wha- what happened to me?" Lily shook her head "You don't remember?" "No." he responded promptly, straining every inch of his mind to recall. "I...remember...feeling tired though," he smirked "and something rather odd." Her face lit up slightly, in hope "What did you remember, Sev, a dream?" He grinned, "I don't think it matters," his face fell "dreams don't come true...." Lily touched his cheek gently, turning him to face her "Don't be like that." she said firmly "See the potion bottle as half full, not half empty." He gazed into her eyes, for what seemed like an eternity to him, before looking away, unhappy that he had let his emotions take control for a moment. Severus unwrapped the bandage from around his head, his greasy hair falling immediately into place. He stuck one of his legs out from under the sheet, preparing to get up when suddenly he realised that his clothes were gone. "Where are my clothes?!" he asked, taken completely off guard, and totally stunned. He looked at Lily "Oh," she blushed slightly "Madam Pompfrey said she'd get you new robes... would you like me to get them for you?"
Snape covered her eyes. "Don't look." he said half jokingly, while getting out from under the covers "Is this a game?" Lily giggled "Yes," Snape said, his pale skin showing up snow white in the moon-light as he dashed across the room to search a nearby wardrobe. His hands slid over the fabrics in the closet, looking for a set of Slytherin robes. She peeked between her fingers for just a moment, catching a glimpse of his pale skin in the moonlight. "Are you peaking?" he laughed, turning his head to glance over his shoulder, as he pulled out his new robes. "No..." she said, untruthfully, as she was almost staring from between her fingers. Severus turned around, he had a pair of green boxers on, and was pulling on a pair of baggy black pants over them. "Ok. You can open now." he said, a shade of humor still trapped in his voice. She pulled her hands away from her face, taking in what was still revealed of his body. His arms were thin, his feet were big, he wasn't very muscular, and his pants hung loosely over his legs. But to Lily, he was every difinition of perfect she could come up with.
