Chapter Nine

It had taken Severus seventeen apologies and eight promises of letting the budding relationship between Lily and Potter alone before Lily forgave him. It had taken two apologies and twenty-two promises of “I’ll keep everything between us away from you” before Severus forgave her. He was not happy with the new-found romance, nor would he ever be. But Lily was happy – Merlin only knew why – and Severus didn’t have it in him to keep fighting with her. Even if she had chosen Potter.

However, that hadn't stopped Potter from antagonizing Severus. And, while Severus wasn't going to go out of his way to break up the pair, he wasn't going to take Potter's pranks lying down. It seemed, after Severus' little prank, that the rivalry was back on. It just wasn't something that Lily knew about.

The first time Severus and Potter had class together was the morning after the incident in the hallway. Severus was in the back of the class, as usual, while Potter was in the front, next to Lily. While McGonagall's back was turned, Potter turned his head to the side, catching Severus' eye, and kissed Lily full on the mouth. Then, he...

Whoo! Two chapters in one week! I'm so proud of myself ^^

Chapter Eight
October 29 1977

“It’s just strange, is all,” Severus said cautiously, avoiding Lily’s eyes as he perused the bookshelf. “I mean, Potter hasn’t said two words to you so far this year. It’s not like him. What’s he up to?”

Lily chuckled and the sound sent chills up Severus’ spine. Despite his desperate attempts (and despite her claim at the end of fifth year that she didn’t have romantic feelings for him), Severus had been unable to shake his feelings for Lily. If anything, the feelings intensified.

The summer had both simultaneously dragged and rushed to an end. He’d convinced his parents to let him apply at the apothecary (he secretly thought that the only reason Tobias relented was because Severus had stood up to him, but there was no way he was going to say that theory out loud). He’d gotten the job (as Jeebs had hinted he would when Severus has first talked to him during a Hogsmeade trip) so he hadn’t...

Chapter Seven

The Great Hall was abuzz as Severus entered the next morning. At first, he paid no mind – there was always some “interesting” gossip that faded to the back of everyone’s mind in a matter of hours. Although this news seemed extra special (a few courageous Hufflepuffs were sitting at the Slytherin table gossiping). Severus wrote it off as the usual trash. Perhaps SloppyMolly – the latest popular musical group – had blown up the stage. Or perhaps some greedy moneygrubber was claiming to be the long-lost relative of some really famous person. Either way, it didn’t matter to him. He had never cared for gossip.

“I heard her clothes had been found six miles south of what was left of her body,” a young Slytherin told his friend.

Severus’ ears perked up involuntarily. A body was found?

“Ugh!” the friend shuddered. “My Da always told me they were monstrous creatures but this…” she shivered again. “Ugh!”

The boy nodded importantly. “I know. And to think – all those times people warned us about werewolves in the Forest! I thought it was a joke!”

Chapter Six

The great hall was noisy as Severus sat down for breakfast, alone, on the far end of the Slytherin table. He was getting used to this routine: get up early – earlier than his house-mates – shower and dress quietly, and sit on his bed with the curtains closed around him, wand clutched in his hand. He’d listen as everyone else rose and got ready. Occasionally, someone from Avery’s group (a minority group, now that Slytherin was in the bottom of the running for the House Cup due to their behavior) would taunt him from the other side of the emerald drapes, but rarely did anything ever come of it. Usually, the person would just grow bored of his silence, and head out. Once the dorm was empty, Severus would slowly, cautiously, leave for the Great Hall, where he would sit alone, eat quickly, and be the first one from his table to leave his seat. Then, he’d walk cautiously through the halls, keeping an eye out for Avery’s gang (they liked to attack when there was no one around to witness it) or James and his band of thugs. More often than not, it would be the latter who would come at him; jinxes to make him trip, drop his books, shred his...

A/N: So, this chapter was beyond difficult to write and I'm still not pleased with how it ended. Any suggestions and heavy critiques would be greatly appreciated.

Chapter five
1 September 1976

The Welcoming Feast had been awkward, to say the least: the Slytherins hadn't, despite the summer holidays, gotten over what they saw as Severus' “betrayal.” They had taken up the entire compartment, effectively blocking him out of the Slytherin portion of the train; shoved him towards the back of the group of students, so they wouldn't have to share a carriage with him; sat as close together as possible at the front of the table, making him sit alone at the end. They refused to speak to him, and looked at him – with contempt and malice, no less – only when necessary.

But, if Severus was honest, it was welcome. After a long, brutal summer of staying under the watchful eye of his father, and a horrid end of fifth year, being ignored wasn't nearly as bad as being noticed. Also, it served to prove, once and for all, to Lily that...

Note:In the HPvsT spot, a lot of us went around and shared our "anti-Twilight" stories. I found mine to be a very cathartic and relaxing write. It got me thinking: how would I feel if I shared a "my story" thing about something I'm even more passionate about? So, I thought I'd share my "Journey into the Severus Snape fandom" story :) And, to be honest, I feel even better than I did when I wrote my slightly humorous anti story.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, the Harry Potter series is winding down to an official close. There will be no more movies and, as of yet, no more books. It's a bitter-sweet thought. Harry and co. have had a long, amazing journey and have deserved the epic ending they are about to receive.

I really can't stop thinking about how I got into this amazing journey and how I became enamored (and head over heels) with the character Severus. While I love him for everything that he is (and everything that he isn't) my initial reason for my feelings becoming so strong for this man, upon reflection, is more his figurative supportive role in my life.

Chapter Four

The taxi cab that Eileen hailed was utterly disgusting – the faux-leather seats were broken and stained with colors Severus hadn't even known existed; everything, from the carpeted floor to the windows were damp; it smelled as if a very large, sweaty man had left his cloths under the seats for a fortnight. But Severus didn't complain – he knew his mother disliked is as much as he did, but they had little choice.

The Prince family was a rich, pure-blood family. His grandmother, Isadora, had never worked a day in her life and his grandfather, Hirum, had retired early. They had, for as long as Severus could remember, owned seven large, luxurious houses, wore expensive clothes and jewelry, and had hired help to do everything for them. The maids and butlers (Isadora had utterly refused to have “verminous little elves running about the place”) jobs fell just short of bathing and tying shoes. However, the Prince's had taken their youngest daughter off the will. Not because she'd married a muggle, as so many pure-blood families complained of, but because she'd married an abusive drunk.

Chapter Three

The Slytherin common room had been a horrid place for Severus to be the last week of school. He, Avery, and Crabbe had been given detention every night with Slughorn. Severus wasn't sure what Avery and Crabbe's punishment had been – Slughorn had been adamant about keeping them all separated as much as possible – but, judging by the nasty looks and cheap shots Avery had been throwing, it couldn't have been anything good. Luckily, he was never hit where it showed, so there had been no awkward questions from Lily and no interrogations from Slughorn who, as far as Severus could tell, had believed the whole incident to be rough play that had simply gotten out of hand.

Although many of the Slytherins – having witnessed or heard about the fight – had left Severus alone, none of them would come to his defense either. After Crabbe's first detention, Severus had gotten cornered by the larger boy who, in front of three of their housemates, had punched him hard in the gut and called him a “cowardly, worthless piece of shit.” By the time the week was up, it was almost a relief to board the Hogwarts Express and head home.

"If you could have anything for your Birthday what would it be?" asked Severus his piercing gaze made the red-headed beauty blush. Her green eyes lowered. "Really Sev, I don't need anything-"
"Why not?"
"I-I just don't know...I have everything." She quickly recovered herself "If means that much to you then suprise me." She smiled.

It was earlier that day that Gryffindor and Slytherin had their first Quiddich match of the year and Gryffindor had won. Severus said, "James isnt the whole reason your house won...Our team was just...tired thats all."
"Sev please don't start with James his not worth talking about, okay?" Severus had quickly changed the subject by asking about her birthday. If she didn't want to talk about James Potter that was fine with him.

"I think I have an idea.." Severus said as they walked away from the castle and towards the Black Lake. "For your birthday I mean."
Lily looked at him with curiousity gleaming in her emerald eyes. as Severus gazed into them he was breathtaken by them, her. "Meet me tomorrow? In the forest? Eleven."

Chapter Two

The walk back to the Slytherin common room was much longer and quieter, giving Severus ample time to think. There wasn't much that needed to be done to sever ties with the “wanna-be-Death-Eaters” – all he had to do was say he apologized to Lily – but he needed to think of a way to stop them from killing him. They wouldn't accept the fact he had apologized to a “worthless mudblood like Lily Evans.”

By the time he'd reached the common room, Severus was no more prepared to deal with Slytherins than he was when he left the portrait of the Fat Lady. Lily had asked a tall order, but Severus wouldn't back down from it. Not if it meant loosing her.

“Serpent's Tongue,” Severus said lowly to the wall and it slid open ominously.

I didn't write this. I found it link

I don't know if you've noticed, but a healthy percentage of the otherwise perfectly sane women in this country have gone into heat over Snape.

Snape, for those of you have been living under a toadstool and aren't familiar with him, is the baddie wizard in the Harry Potter series. He's the surly Potions Master, and his primary function is to look puckery and to simmer with barely-contained hatred everytime he sees Harry Potter.

Sexy Snape is played in the film by Alan Rickman. Since I live with a horny Alan Rickman fan, I'm already aware that AR has a devoted following of trollops who would gladly give up a thumb in exchange for a night of lovin' at AR's house.

However, when you add Alan Rickman + black cape + wig, that = Snape.

The ladies might like Alan Rickman, but the ladies have gone way past crazy over Snape. Women that never HEARD of Alan Rickman before seeing Harry Potter & the Sorceror's Stone and don't even care that he has a "dreamy" German accent in Die Hard,...

Chapter One
June 1976
The corridor was dark and breezy as fifteen year old Severus Snape hurried down it, determined in his plan. Unnoticed by him, portraits eyed him keenly as he passed, wondering just what the pallid Slytherin youth was doing jogging down the hallway towards the Gryffindor common room alone so late at night. Although they were all too familiar with the tension and fighting between the two houses, never before had they seen a single Slytherin or Gryffindor rushing off to confront a large group of the other house. It almost seemed suicidal.

The portrait of the Fat Lady loomed ahead of him and Severus felt his breath catch in his throat. This was it – now or never.

He slowed in front of her, panting, and she gazed down at him curiously. Normally, she would have reprimanded him for being here so late (or yowled for Filch, depending on how much mead she'd drunk) but the gossiper in her was far too intrigued by this odd spectacle in front of her that she didn't even think about chasing him off. “Yes?” she asked.

Chapter Two – The Good and The Bad

Severus Snape was a man who greatly enjoyed privacy. His house, Spinner’s End, was in the middle of nowhere – away from prying eyes and nosy, gossiping neighbors. His black curtains were nearly always drawn; on the off chance that someone came strolling by. There were very few lights on and the doors were always locked – even when he was inside the house. Some might call it paranoia, but in Severus’ line of work, one could not be too careful.

Today was a particularly good day for Severus. Both Dumbledore and the Dark Lord had indicated that they were in no need of him that day. There was still a month before the start of term, and he already had his lesson plans all drawn up. The only thing left to do was to curl up on the sofa with a nice book and a cool glass of Butterbeer.

Perhaps it was fate that he'd just gotten to the end of the first page when a knock sounded. Perhaps it was irony. Or perhaps, he thought irritably as the tossed the book onto the table in front of him, he just wasn't allowed to have nice days.

So, Severus, brewing up to no good in the cosmetic/pharmaceutical industry ?
Of course, nobody here ever doubts that Severus Snape is alive. But to what extent ? What does he do for a living ? Where ? How ? Well, these questions rose in my mind again no later than this morning.

Here were the circumstances : I was going out of the supermarket and opposite, there's a pharmacy. In one of the windows, in big, an ad for an age care product.

Usually, this type of product does not draw my attention at all. Yet this time, I had to look twice. Here was the text of the ad, spelt in big in the pharmacy window (in French, I translate later) :

Mysterieux
Divin Venin
Ssssséduisant !

(Which translates as : Mysterious - Godly Venom - Ssssseductive !)

My heart leapt in my chest. I could not help thinking about the gruesome death penned by JKR for our dearly beloved Potions Master. Besides, I imagined a puzzled Severus Snape watching the same window from a distance. No doubt he would have enjoyed the cruel irony of the statement. Or smashed the window in a resentful move of his wand.

OMFG!!! for those of you who have read the 7th Harry Potter book, how many of you cried when Voldemort killed Snape? i did.
Snape:A caring young man,and a potions master at Hogwarts, died a horrible death the night Voldemort attcked Hogwarts. We will all remember Snape as brave, sarcastic, and handsome. But the deatheaters will remember him as a traitor. let's go back into the past and visit his younger days.
Snape was a boy fulll of dreams and hopes. unfortunatley, James Potter lived to destroy those hopes and dreams. Snape always loved Lily Potter, and tried to impress her multiple different times, but everytime, he'd screw up and Lily would wind up being angry with him. the night Voldemort went to the Potters house, Snape had begged Dumbledore to help protect Lily Potter. Dumbledore was ashamed with Snape's selfishness and refused. But later decided that if Snape promised to kill Dumbledore when it was time, he'd help Snape protect Harry Potter.
throughout the years at Hogwarts, Snape made the impression on Harry that he hated him. it wasn't until after Snape died, that Harry looked into the pensieve at Snape's memory, and realized that Snape never hated...

Chapter One – Prologue
A man sat in a high-backed chair, his still form illuminated eerily by the dying firelight. His pale, skull-like face was turned away from the woman across from him (the only other person in the room), as though he found her too disgusting to look at. In reality, it was not her the disgust was aimed at.

“You're sure?” The voice held more than a mere hint of warning.

The woman, who's skin had turned a sickly, pale green color, nodded emphatically, causing her silky black hair to bounce around her face. She, in contrast to him, was leaning forward slightly, as if, despite her fear, her only wish was to be as close to him as possible.“Positive, my Lord. I saw it with my own eyes. He was walking with Dumbledore through Hogsmead.”

Just a little one-shot I wrote while listening to Faith Hill's Like We Never Loved At All. Set during Sev's 7th year at Hogwarts :)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----
You never looked so good
As you did last night . . . .
There, walking with your friend
Laughing at the moon . . .

The quarter moon was bright and high. Between it and the reflection off the lake, the entirety of the Hogwarts grounds was bathed in a silvery light. Two figures – one tall and masculine, the other smaller and more feminine – strolled confidently across the lush grass, laughing and holding hands. They were obviously a couple and, just as obviously, enamored with each other. They paid no mind to their surroundings – not the beautifully shimmering lake or the dark, shadowed trees. They did not see the pale face, half obscured by shadow, watching them from a second story window. The face was twisted in pain and misery; the eyes were bright with un-shed tears and crinkled around the edges as they squinted at the besotted pair; the bottom lip was being bitten into in order...

1.

Befuddled and Thunderstruck

When an unfamiliar owl arrived at Hogwarts three weeks prior to the start of school, no one noticed.

When Headmaster Dumbledore read the message the unfamiliar owl had delivered, the place was in an uproar. The professors worried about the outcome. The professors tried to reason amongst themselves about this unexpected news. The professors successfully managed to keep this surprise a secret from one certain professor, whom they knew would be greatly affected by this information. The only other individual the professors were concerned about was a particular student that would hopefully return to Hogwarts this year.

“Harry is going to be furious!” Professor McGonagall stated with a hint of franticness in her voice. “He's going to ask us why we didn't send them there instead of the Dursley's!”

“Because, Minerva,” Dumbledore sighed, setting the letter he had read dozens of times already down onto his desk. “Since William graduated, he has been living with his wife in the United States. If I had sent...

"So what do you want to do today?" asked Snape to Lily. They were walking down an empty corridor on a sunny Sunday afternoon. "I don't know whatever you want" replied Lily. I wish we could, thought Snape, for he wanted to kiss her so badly. Kiss you thought Lily at the same time. They walked for a minute the only sound was their footsteps. Then James, Sirius, and Lupin turned the corner. "Oh great" muttered Snape. "Look guys, it's Snivellus and Lily. Why is a beauty like you friends with a beast like him" James almost yelled. "Because he's not a jerk like you," Lily said calmly back to him. "Hmm, not a bad come back, but I still don't see why you two are friends. And I thought that to be a death eater you had to be a jerk, so u better start practising Snivellus." said James cruelly. Snape had got out his wand and started to do a spell. What happened next Lily saw in slow motion. James wiped out his wand and did a non-verbal spell. It flew through the air and hit Severus square in the chest. Severus passed out and a pool of blood was soon visible around him. Lily was in shock she felt tears on her cheeks but couldn't remember starting to cry. She sat down next to him and brushed the...

My Dear Fellow Fanpopers, Snape Fans, and random people everywhere! It is now my job to give a huge round of applause to you all for giving me the huge surprise of a Fan Medal! It is an honor to have my first ever medal be to the Severus Snape spot! I will do my best to earn my keep in this spot, and not overflow the articles box as I so often do. even though I would like to say it was my hard work that got me this medal, I must give most of the credit to you, my dear readers, as without you, I wouldn't have made it thus far. Now I know most of you are freaking out and thinking holy frikin crap, Ashley really went off the deep end this time... But this is very exciting for me. So, without further adou I now proudly present to you, Lily and Severus: Tangled: The Finale.

It is an honor, nay, a privilege to speak now of my concerns for our beloved Mr.Snape's well being. As he grew up he received quite a handful of unpleasant things, and received an unbelievable overdose of misfortune. However, just when everything seemed a-okay, his world shattered apart again at the loss of Lily Evans; both as a friend, and colleague. Many people rave about how unfair Snape's life was, ans how it wasn't what any human would've bargained for (You may recall that he once said "Life isn't fair"), but have the Snape ravers ever stopped to consider that there is so much about Severs that we aren't aware of? It is possible he was treated fairly well during his time as a deatheater. So pampered in fact, that it is later revealed that he is indeed very close to Voldemort, (in the words of Albus Dumbledore "...A basket which spends so much of it's time hanging on the arm of Lord Voldemort.") However, in contradiction to my theory, the dark lord did not hesitate to kill Severus without any dignity. In other thoughts I can honestly say, that, due to my personal experience in such things, Severus Snape may have been so used to the lack of fortune in his life that he knew...

Severus counted the days with tick marks on his head-board; forty-eight heart warming days with his Lily. 1,152 of the most incredible moments of his lifetime. They were big numbers when drawn out...but they felt like only a few seconds to Snape. If he had his way he would spend every waking moment with Lily Evans. He ripped his gaze off the top of his bed, his hair was a mess, and his green slytherin pajamas irritated his skin from being thrashed around in. Snape had been dreaming, a very risque dream in his opinion, what most people would discribe as inappropriate...But perfectly okay to him. He could remember the feel of his bare skin on hers, her hair in his face, tangling with his...but he shook it away, it wasn't exactly practical to focus on things that aren't real. He stood up, stumbled slightly, and wobbled down to his trunk, pulling out his books out of habit, but then he remembered, it was Christmas, he didn't have class today. He grinned, and jumped up and down like a little boy. He could now spend however much time he wanted with Lily. He threw his clothes on, ignored his presents, and sprinted down the stairs, Severus barely rounded the corner wall at the bottom and...

Severus Snape was born to Eileen Prince, a witch, and Tobias Snape, a Muggle. Growing up in a Muggle village, Severus was friendless and suffered from his father's tyrannical nature. Like the older Severus, the younger Severus was not the most becoming of persons. An awkward child, he wore over-sized hand-me-downs and sported his signature greasy hair; his character revealed great bitterness at a young age, and an angry, vengeful disposition. However, he was not without hope and optimism as he saw Hogwarts as a means of rising above his situation; an attitude which would ultimately lead him astray.

It was not until he was around the age of nine that he first came into contact with Lily Evans, a girl his age from the village who he witnessed performing uncontrolled magic on a playground one day. Knowing she would be sent a letter from Hogwarts when she turned eleven, just as he would be, he forged a friendship with the young witch, though with some difficulty. Severus introduced Lily Evans to much about the wizarding world, though her sister, Petunia, did not approve of the boy.

It didn't take long for everyone at Hogwarts to find out that Severus Snape and Lily Evans were now an item. They seemed to be attatched to each other like glue. Lily clung to Severus's arm at all times, and it seemed that in light of recent events Snape had decided to wash his hair, taking away the greasy look everyone had come to know so well. Severus smiled down at Lily, her cheeks a rosey red, the perfect shade to match her hair. They made their way outside, in the deserted corridors, they walked near the whomping willow and Severus brought them to a stop. He pulled away from Lily and faced her, his pale skin giving off a faint glow in the light of the full moon "May I have this dance?" he asked, bowing. Lily giggled and curtsied "Certainly, kind sir." she whispered. He took her hand, and put his other arm around her waist, and she, put hers gently on his shoulder. They rocked back and forth slowly, their faces close together, noses touching gently. Thier eyes met briefly, and Lily turned away, slightly embarassed. She put her head on his shoulder, and closed her eyes. He did smell quite good..."I love you, Severus..." she murmered, her lips an inch from his neck. She...
