I pretty much agree with this, I generally respect Snape and that whole story line was interesting. It gave some depth to both Snape and Lily that we didn’t realize existed. It made Snape more sympathetic, also sad, and it made Lily less perfect, which is always nice in my opinion.

Though I can't consider James and Lily relationship healthy either because it was based on lies and obfuscation

There's actually a couple different versions of this floating around Tumblr and (of course), I had to put my two cents in about it:

"Most of the time (most, not all) when people say “I want someone to love me like Snape loved Lily” they mean someone who will love them unconditionally, unwaveringly, and completely. Someone who will love them no matter what, and love them their entire life. They don’t usually (again, usually) mean the unrequited/best friend aspect of their relationship.

Just like when people say “I want a love like Ron and Hermione’s” they don’t usually mean a relationship with a jealous, hot-headed person who speaks before thinking. They mean they want a relationship where flaws don’t matter, that’s not based on looks or mutual attraction.

Bri, once again, you made it so brilliantly ! I agree with you.

However awkward or unhappy or passionate or whatever, love is a beautiful sentiment. Always.
