It wasn't difficult for him to navigate his new surroundings. Empire City wasn't nearly as complex as New York.
That also provided worry for Alex Mercer. Not as complex meant less places to hide, less alleys to stalk, and less buildings to throw himself off for giggles.
Pushing those thoughts into the back of his mind, he just stuck to the task at hand; Get away from the crash site.
He'd crashed on purpose, to provide cover for his next move. He didn't want attention as it was just yet... And crashing a Marine Corps chopper into the middle of a road seemed like a good enough distraction.
"Where are we going!?" Dana yelled over the onrushing wind as Alex lightened his own biomass to glide across the awning gap between two buildings.
"I'm not sure." He responded truthfully; Indeed, he had no idea where he was heading. Anywhere away from the crash site seemed good enough.
Spying a nearby building, he made up his mind. With a small twist of his body, he easily found his feet slamming into the rooftop of his desired location.
He'd only chosen this one because it reminded him of a more fortified version of Dana's safe-house, back on the edges of that Infected Zone.
It was as good a place as any.
The entire roof had, indeed, been fortified with barb wire fences. Alex found it odd, but otherwise didn't care. Easing Dana off his back, he made his way to the fence, easily clearing it with a jump.
"What are you doing?" Dana asked, concerned.
"Getting us a place to stay." He said, with the smallest hint of a smile as he swung himself to a window just below the roof-line. Opening it wasn't difficult, as he held onto the piping with one hand and picked the lock with the other.
A single resident was inside. So far, hadn't noticed the man hanging outside his window.
Until the loud creak made it more obvious as he pushed it open and slunk inside.
Getting a better look at the man, Alex knew that whoever this man was, he didn't stand a chance against the Virus.
This man was shorter than Alex, and somewhat chubby. Wearing a green vest and amber-tinted sunglasses, he had been lounging around on the couch, watching TV.
That was until, of course, Alex had broken in. Now, the man was yelling at him, a pistol trained at his head.
Moving fast enough for his form to blur, Alex lunged across at the man, easily tackling him to the ground.
What he hadn't counted on was for the man to begin yapping away into a throat mike he was wearing.
"Cole! Man, help me! There's some psycho trinna kill me!"
Somewhat surprised by this, Alex let go of the man struggling in his grasp, who in turn, punched him in the face.
When one could survive a devastating volley of bullets to the chest, a simple punch wouldn't do much. That having been said, it somewhat dazed Alex- No-one fought back with a physical attack. Not to him.
Willing his whipfist to form, Alex was about to strike out at the man when he was interrupted by the low, cackling sound of several thousand volts of electricity.
Whipping around to face the new threat, Alex was greeted by the sight of a man, about his age, wearing a battered black and yellow jacket. More noticeably, however, was the fact that this man had vivid blue electricity coursing down his arm.
What the fuck have I gotten myself into now..?
