It’s been quite a night. Kaede and Primula ended up sharing their home with a new visitor- the famous Anime heroine known as Kasey. But can they really take care of him? Chances are they have plenty of things to learn about him if they are ever to take great care of him and become a good friend to them both.
Once their big talk was over, their next move was trying to figure out where Kasey would sleep for the night. Despite his loyalty, Kaede doesn’t quite trust him enough to let him sleep in her bedroom or Primula’s room so it was a lot tougher coming up with a place as she thought it would be. “Why doesn’t he take Rin’s room?” Primula asked. Kaede’s face soon fell into despair. For once when Primula asked that she soon fell into a little bit of tears. She slumped to the floor on her knees and started crying. Kasey and Primula did whatever they could to help her up. “I’m so sorry,” Kaede said while weeping and drying her tears. “I just miss Rin so much.” Kasey was in a stage of confusion. He doesn’t know what the situation was nor does he know who Rin actually was. But Kaede eventually felt better and told Kasey to follow her so that she would take him to Rin’s old room.
When the door was opened, the two of them walked in. “This is your room for a while,” She said. “But be careful not to touch anything else okay? Some of these things belong to Rin and I don’t want anything bad to happen to them.” Kasey looked at Kaede with sudden shock as he thinks she couldn’t trust him. But not wanting to cause any trouble, he looked at the floor and murdered, “Yes mam.” The way he said that suddenly made her feel bad. She got on her knees and patted Kasey on the head. “It’s not that I don’t trust you Kasey. I just don’t want his stuff gone or ruined. I’m not saying that okay?” Kasey looked at Kaede’s sweet face and grind a little. He started rubbing the right side of his body all over Kaede’s legs. She giggled while getting up. “Now please make yourself comfortable here okay?” Kasey watched as she walked to the door and nodded. With a sigh of happiness, Kasey was glade knowing that she would trust him. It sometimes wasn’t common that girls like her would be so nice to him- because of his powers.
After Kaede left the room, a soft voice was heard from behind him. It was Primula. “Hey there,” Kasey said while walking to her. “Did you need me for anything?” Primula looked rather sad while looking at him. “You don’t know who Rin is do you?” Kasey tried his best to come up with a good enough answer but couldn’t. He sighed while shaking his head. She knew that he didn’t know much about him and she thought it was time to tell him everything. She gently picked the cat up and walked to Rin’s old bed and sat on it. She started stroking Kasey’s back gently and started telling everything about Rin- including his kindness towards Kaede, about the other girls that also loved him, and what happened exactly at the point that lead to this series. After she told the whole story, Kasey couldn’t help but feel awful. He had no idea that Kaede would feel so heartbroken and depressed knowing that Rin loved Asa so much. “She is recovering pretty well though right?” He asked Primula. She nodded a little but then said, “It’s hard for her sometimes.” Kasey couldn’t help but agree. “Do you think I could help her be happy again?” He asked her. Primula didn’t know what to think of his question. Though Rin was a man of kindness and dignity, she wouldn’t know what to think of a guy who is an animal and doesn’t have a human-like appearance. Not wanting to hurt his feelings though, she nodded and responded, “Only if you are nice enough will she trust you. Just like Rin. But keep in mind that we all still love him very much so please don’t let that get you down.” Kasey understood clearly and that was the end of that night.
As the dark changed to daylight, Kasey was well rested. He could up and walked down stairs. “Good morning Kasey,” Kaede said while working in the kitchen. “I’ll make you some breakfast if you would like.” Kasey jumped on top of the dining table and responded, “Sure, I would like that.” Primula also came down stairs too and entered to the dining area too. Kasey couldn’t help but be amazed at the way her hair was like when it was all the way down. “Wow! You look pretty!” Kaede and Primula were shocked by what he just said. “Oops! I’m so, so, so, so sorry!” The two looked at each other and started giggling. Kasey looked at them feeling a little embarrassed. “You don’t have to apologize,” Kaede said. “It’s actually nice you think she looks pretty.” Kasey turned to her knowing that she was kind of jealous and also added, “I know, but you look pretty too.” Kaede’s face was started turning into redness. Though he was happy that they weren’t mad at him, he felt like it was wise to keep his big mouth shut. Kaede however said, “Thank you very much Kasey. That’s nice of you to say.” He looked back at Kaede and she was a little red on the face, but not too much. Kasey smiled. He felt good about himself keeping them happy and occupied. From what he learned last night about the depression they had been through, it was the lease he could do to make up for it all. “You breakfast is going to get cold if you don’t eat up.” Kaede said. Kasey snapped and nodded while eating his breakfast. When it was over, Kaede and Primula were all dressed and ready for school. “Where are you going?” Kasey said while following them to the door. The two girls stopped and turned around facing him. “We have to go to school,” Kaede said. “But we will be back soon.” Kasey understood and wasn’t mad at all. “See you later Kasey. Take care.” After Kaede left, Primula walked to him and got on her knees while touching the cat’s face gently. “Please take care of the house while we’re gone okay? See you later.” Kasey responded with an “okay” and Primula left the house as well. He was rather confused wondering why Primula would say that to him. Not wanting to think about it, he turned started walking.
Kaede and Primula were now on their was to school. It was then that Kaede had an idea. “You know what I think we should do this weekend?” She asked Primula. “We should try to invite Rin and everyone over to our house for dinner and let them meet Kasey.” Primula thought that was a good idea. Kaede giggled. “But we need to run by the grocery store today because they are having an amazing weekend sale. I might make us all a big dinner.” Suddenly, the two girls could see their friends- Rin, Asa, Sia, and Nerine. Waving and saying their greetings, the two girls ran to catch up with them. “How are you this morning Rin?” Kaede asked. I’m doing just great.” Rin responded. Asa then interrupted. “Aren’t you going to ask me how I am doing?” She said while looking a little jealous at Kaede. She then asked her how she was and Asa giggled while responding, “I’m doing good too.” Kaede of course realized she was only joking. “We better get going or we’ll be late.” Rin said. The girls agreed and made their way to school. As the hours went by, school was already done for the day. It was at this time that Kaede and Primula started asking Rin and the others if they would like to come over to their house this weekend for a big dinner. Everyone was interested and agreed to come, but then the question was asked- “Why?” Kaede started to get a little nervous to explain to them about Kasey as she didn’t want them to know. She instead answered, “Because we have someone new in this town and I was thinking a big dinner would help us welcome.” Everyone was soon flown by excitement as to knowing who the new person would be. “I hope it’s not another girl,” Sia said. “The last thing I want to deal with is another girl hogging over Rin.” Asa tried to come up with a good answer as well. “What if it’s another guy?” Everyone including Rin stared at her with a sudden shock. Asa wasn’t sure why everyone was looking at her like that. “I was only assumening.” She responded. It was then that two other people ventured into the conversation- Mayumi and Itsuki, two other friends to Rin and the girls. “Well if it’s a girl, I’m in,” Itsuki added. “I’m sure she and I will get along just greatly.” Itstuki is best known for his wisecracks on everything about girls and Rin is always the one to make him stop it. “I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a girl and she dumped you.” Rin joke ling says. Itstuki soon jumped into anger and depression but Mayumi also added her opinion. “What if it was a demon or a god just like you two?” She was referring to Nerine and Sia. Nobody ever thought about it including Rin. “If it’s possible,” Nerine responded. “Then we need to be careful.” Sia and everyone else agreed. Kaede listened to all of this and didn’t know what to think. She turned to Primula and whispered in her left ear, “I think this is going to be pretty tough to handle.” Primula nodded.
Once the day turned into dusk, Rin and everyone else said their farewells. Kaede, Primula, Sia, and Nerine walked together for a while. “So how long have you known this new stranger?” Sia asked Kaede. Kaede tried to answer her question but couldn’t come up with the right words. Sia started thinking that Kaede was hiding stuff on purpose but she said it wasn’t true. “Don’t pressure her please.” Nerine said. Sia understood and apologized. Kaede accepted her apology and just moved onto a different topic. It wasn’t until a few hours when they reached the crossroads. “Are you two going home?” Sia asked. Kaede responded, “No. Primula and I have to go do some grocery shopping before tomorrow. They are having a huge weekend sale.” The two understood and wished them luck. Saying their goodbyes and also saying they are looking forward to tomorrow, Sia and Nerine left. Kaede and Primula waved as well and then started making their way to the grocery store. Once they got there, they managed to find everything they needed to make dinner for tomorrow. “Did you tell Kasey about this yet?” Primula asked. Kaede covered her mouth as she remembered she forgot to tell him about it. Primula was concerned, but Kaede uncovered her mouth and responded, “No, I haven’t yet. But I will tell him tonight or tomorrow morning.” Primula added that it was best to tell him now so that he wouldn’t be too nervous about meeting everyone. Kaede did agree, but she felt bad for not telling him. She thought that it would all be a huge surprise or something. Once when they made it home, Kasey ran to the door and rubbed his body all over their legs. Kaede and Primula were so happy to be home and to see him happy as well. “That’s a lot of stuff,” He added. “Would you like for me to help you?” “No, I got it Kasey. But thank you.” Kaede said while bringing the bags to the kitchen. Primula stood and watched her but then looked down at Kasey and smiled. She picked the cat up and carried him while walking up stairs. “I’m making dinner now,” Kaede added. “So I will let you know when it’s ready okay?” Both nodded and made their way up to Primula’s room. Kasey looked around. “So this is your room? It looks nice.” Primula walked to her bed and sat on it while watching Kasey. She then yawned a little and lied down. He overheard her yawning and walked slowly to her. “Poor thing,” He said in his mind. “She had a really busy day. I bet Kaede is feeling the same way as well.” Even though she doesn’t show it, Kaede is never tired. She’s always, always working. It was all she could ever do to make her smile or to make anyone smile. Kasey felt so sorry for both her and Primula after what they’ve been through. But knowing that staying with them would make up for all of it, he knew he was doing the right thing.
About a minute later, Kaede was done with making dinner for tonight. She walked upstairs and opened the door to Primula’s room. What she didn’t realize was that Primula and Kasey were both asleep together. Kaede was awed by this and sighed saying in a soft spoken tone, “I should just wait.” She gently shut the door and walked back down stairs. After a while, Primula and Kasey quickly made their way back down stairs realizing that they forgot about dinner. Kaede was happily waiting for them. ‘It’s about time you two got here,” She said softly while smiling. “Are you two hungry?” “We sure are.” Kasey responded. They all ate together. “That was very delicious.” Kasey said while licking his paws. “I’m glade you liked it.” Kaede said. Her attention drew to Primula who was still eating. She decided that the time was now to tell him. “Kasey, there is something I need to tell you.” Kasey looked at Kaede knowing that it was going to be a serious talk. “Tomorrow, our friends are coming over here for dinner and we thought it would be a good time for you to meet them all.” Kasey was surprised. Kaede suddenly begun to get sad. “I know I should’ve told you this earlier, but I thought it would be big surprise for you if I waited until tonight to tell you. I’m so sorry.” Kasey was not upset. In fact, he was applauding by the fact that he would get a chance to meet all of her friends. “I’m not upset by this at all,” He responded. “In fact, I applaud it.” Kaede’s reaction changed. “Are you sure?” “I wouldn’t be happier than to seeing your friends,” Kasey said while approaching her slowly. “I think we will all get along just greatly.” Kaede smiled while gently petting him. “I hope so.” Primula continued eating and didn’t hear anything. She cleaned her whole plate after Kasey and Kaede talked. “I’m full.” She said. They turned to her and looked at her plate. “Wow. You did eat it all. You must have been really hungry.” Kaede said while laughing. She got up, picked everyone’s plates and went to the kitchen to wash them. “I think you guys better go to bed now. We have a big night planned tomorrow.” Primula and Kasey nodded and the two started to walk up stairs. Before he could though, he was going to tell Kaede something but thought it was the wrong time to tell her. He caught up with Primula and was about to enter into his room when he could hear Primula say something. “Goodnight Kasey.” She said. But before he could say anything back to her, she already got in the room and closed the door behind her. Kasey sighed and entered in while doing the same thing. Another day has gone by and this has been two days now sense Kasey has arrived in the world of Shuffle! and has adjusted to living with Kaede and Primula. But can he also handle three other girls as well as Rin? Find out on our next episode.
