Soul was outside with Maka, being used as her weapon again. Maka continued swinging at Crona, the pink-haired freak, as Soul would call him. Maka swung and missed and swung and missed. This vicious pattern continued, until Crona used Ragnarok and slashed Maka's shoulder. She screamed out in pain. "MAKA!" Soul screamed. Crona lowered Ragnarok and looked off to the side with his upset, depressive look. "Finish them," Ragnarok said. Crona didn't answer and continued looking off.
Soul transformed into a human again and covered Maka completely with his body. "Maka, are you okay? SPEAK TO ME MAKA!" Soul shouted. Maka winced and groaned, rolling on the floor and holding her arm, as if the pain would go away soon. "G-get out of here, S-Soul..." Maka cracked. Soul felt himself tear up slightly. "NO MAKA! I WON'T LEAVE YOU HEAR TO DIE!" Maka winced more as Soul's voice rang in her ears. "Y-your yelling isn't m-making me any b-better..." Maka said. Soul calmed down and picked Maka up bridal style. He ran out the door and brought her home. They didn't fight anymore that day.
Soul sat on the curve of the road in front of Maka's house with Maka beside him. "I'm scared, Soul..." Maka said. Soul gave Maka a harsh stare. "Don't be, we are a weapon and meister team! We are a powerful weapon and meister team. I...can't see you like this." Maka slouched and put her chin in her hands. "I can't let you die, Soul," she said. "MAKA! I AM ALWAYS PREPARED TO DIE FOR MY MEISTER! IF I HAVE TO DIE FOR YOU, I WILL!" Soul screamed. "DON'T SAY THAT!" Maka sobbed. Soul's tone softened and he put his head down. Maka cried some more. "If you die...I'll die..."
The next morning, Maka got up and went to the kitchen. She started making breakfast for Soul, continuing to think about yesterday while cooking. "Oh Soul..." Maka said to herself. Soul soon walked into the kitchen, topless and only wearing a pair of plaid boxers. "Good morning," he yawned. Maka sighed in response and continued her cooking. Soul, being tired, didn't notice. He sat at the kitchen table and continued talking to Maka. "So, who are we fighting today?" Soul asked, playing with a pen he found. "We're not fighting today," Maka said simply, keeping her eye on the slowly sizzling eggs in front of her. Soul shot up and gave Maka a cold look. "What?! What do you mean we're not fighting today?!" Soul screamed. "Soul, please stop screaming. Here's your breakfast," Maka said, and gently dropped the plate of nicely prepared eggs and toast. "Maka, I need to fight! Blackstar will be fighting today!" Soul argued. "No...eat your breakfast...please..." Maka turned off the stove and sat at the table with Soul, staring at the wooden table-top. Soul stared at his food in anger, ready to lash out at Maka. However, instead, he started eating. Maka smiled sadly at Soul, but stared at the table again, for her smile only lasted briefly.
