Robin is DEFINATELY Richard Grayson. It's hinted at multiple times in the show, and in the comics (which i really need to read) Anywayz...

Richard Grayson started off as normal as any kid-
not. No, he wasn't born wearing spandex, but he was born a Robin. He was born on the first day of spring, and was dubbed the nickname "robin" from his mother.

He was a circus performer at Haly's Circus, and one of the only three people in the world able to do the quadrouple summer sault on the trapeeze (the other two being his parents) His life was turned upside down in Gotham.

While on a tour to Gotham City, a crime lord, Tony Zucco came. Because John Grayson, Richard's dad and the circus manager, refused to pay extortion money, he decided to cause trouble.

One fateful night, Richard watched as his parents fell to their death. Tony Zucco had taken the bolts off of one of the trapeeze, and the combinded weight of his parents snapped it off. Bruce Wayne just so happened to be in the audience.

Bruce Wayne took Richard in as his foster son, and secretly as the batman located Tony Zucco. Richard, being fed up with Bruce never being around did some snooping, and found the batcave- and Bruces secret.

After finding out about Bruce going after his parents murders, he decided he wanted to go and "make sure he get's what's coming to him." He took the circus uniform his mom had made him along with a mask and a cape, and turned that into his costume.

He found Batman at the circus, where Zucco was about to kill him. Robin intervined, and got a few punches in for Zucco as Batman freed himself. Once Zucco made a comment about his parents though, saying: "Didn't your parents ever teach you any manners?" He kinda went balistic.

After Batman and Robin chased Zucco up to the trapeeze, Robin saved Zucco from falling the same way as his parents, and arrested him.

After all this had happened, Batman decided Richard would need a name, and he decided the name Robin would suit him, saying that is was a family name.

All went well for a while in the batclan, (more or less.) At first Barbara (the original batgirl) was against him, feeling like she was being replaced. Especialy when she found out that he'd been in the batcave and knew batman's identity. Bruce then proceeds to drive to the batcave, and remove his cowl. They eventualy start to get along, and have a brother/sister relationship, and eventually date for a while. Thats when things turned for the worst.

Robin started to feel that Batman was manipulative, decieving. The two started to fight over little things, and when Robin got shot by the Joker, Bruce went over the edge and decided Richard could no longer be Robin. Richard didn't agree, and he left.

After he left he moved to Jump City, where he meets the others, while they think Starfire (of all people) is an alien that's hellbent on destroying the city. After the three titan guys fight her for a while, Raven intervines. Robin picks the lock on the handcuffs Starfire is wearing, and she proceeds to kiss him, to learn english.

The titans beat Lord Trogar and the Zenthx Army, and after they are driven away, stand on their future island talking about how great a place to live it would be. The rest is history.

Robin is a pretty good leader, putting up with beastboy's lame jokes, *gets attacked by BB fans*, Raven's mood swings, and teaches Starfire about earth. He has ocasional fights with Cyborg, but that's pretty normal, considering Robin's a 16 year old bossing around a 19 year old.

Robin becomes obsessive, trying to find out about and catch slade. Basicly, Slade become's Robin's Joker. He breifly becomes Red X, a supercriminal who uses a xenothium powered suit to teleport all over. His friends find out, Slade finds out, and ultimately he learns nothing about Slade accept the obvious- that the two are alike.

One fateful morning Robin and the titans fall for a trap set up by Slade. The titans leave Robin alone to fight Cinderblock, then go after the macine slade had built (which turns out to be a hoax) Robin, letting his obsession get the better of him, doesn't go and look for his friends before using the locator he found after defeating Cinderblock single handedly (btw, if you haven't seen that fight you MUST. totaly AMAZING!) Anyway, Robin gets blackmailed into becoming Slade's aprentice, the price to pay being his friends lives. He obliges, and Slade bends him to his will, making him steal not just from any companies, but from his own father. Wayne industries. That is where he first sees the affects of the beams, and the titans find out about robin's "glowy hurty trick thingy". Robin makes a new deal with slade, after infecting himself with the probes. He looses his friends, Slade looses his aprentice. Robin escpaes from Slade. Later, after Slade is presumed dead, Robin begins to see things.

A reagent triggered in Slade's mask caused Robin to think Slade was there when he wasn't, causing the others to think of him as becoming sycotic. He is saved after Raven travels into his mind and helps him out.

During one eppisode, Starfire goes 20 years into the future. While Raven is mental, BB is an entertainer, Cyborg is obsolete, Robin has changed his name to Nightwing, and still is fighting crime. This future becomes true, in some aspects, and Robin does turn into Nightwing, trying to step out of the title "Batman and..."

Batman and the teen titans don't really get much into what happens after he becomes nightwing. I know that in the comics he almost marries starfire, but that doesn't happen. But no matter what he does, whether it be in Gotham, or Jump, or Bludhaven, just remember this- Robin can kick ass no matter how old or young he is. :)

Robin, The Boy Wonder

He was first introduced in Detective Comics #38 (1940) by Batman creators Bill Finger and Bob Kane. Robin's debut was an effort to make Batman a lighter, more sympathetic character. DC Comics also thought a teenaged superhero would appeal to young readers, being an effective audience surrogate. The name "Robin, The Boy Wonder" and the medieval look of the original costume are inspired by the legendary hero Robin Hood, as well as the red-breasted American Robin, which parallels the "winged" motif of Batman. Dick Grayson was born on the first day of spring, son of John and...
