Eleven years ago Leo and I started school. We weren't shy, just quiet. Coming into a room full of smiling children didn't make us smile. Everyone guessed we were just shy.
We played with other children and talked a bit, but it wasn't normal for a three-year-old just to hang about or rarely play. "Weird" was what they, everyone else, called it. "Weird" was what a clueless boy, repeating his parent's words , called it. We stopped playing with other kids.
