The Black Stallion Question

Is The Young Black Stallion Series by Steven Farley about the same horse as the traditional Black Stallion?

The colt in The Young Black Stallion looks differet. He has a star on his forehead. And if the Black was Shetan, bred to be raced, wouldn't he of been in India all his life until he met Alec, instead of living with a young girl? I haven't read the Young Black Stallion series yet. I've only started the Black Stallion. So maybe they were given Black then had to give him back. IDK

You have to read all of the Black Stallion books up to "The Black Stallion's Steeplechaser" to understand the "Young Black Stallion" series. The Black is given back to Alec in the fourth book. And the colt in "Young Black Stallion" series is not about the Black but one of his sons, a colt named Raven, and a girl named Danielle. Alec and the Black do feature but only as supporting characters.

The "Young Black Stallion" series by Steven Farley is not to be confused with "The Young Black Stallion", co-written by Walter Farley and Steven Farley. The latter is part of "The Black Stallion" series, while the former is a follow-up series to "The Black Stallion" series.
