The Chronicles of Narnia is a series of seven fantasy books written by British author C. S. Lewis. It is the best known work of Lewis, the series being considered a classic of children's literature, having sold over 120 million copies worldwide, translated into 41 languages. Written by Lewis between 1949 and 1954, the Chronicles of Narnia have been adapted several times, entirely or partially, for radio, television, theater and cinema. In addition to traditional Christian themes, the series uses characters from Greek and Norse mythology, as well as the traditional fairy tales.
