Safe & Sound
Hi guys, I'm currently at the end of the first book. So here is my review on the first book before I watch the movie later on.

Story-Line

I was very impressed with the story, despite that it was complex. Well that's because I need to watch the movie to follow the story! I just couldn't get enough of the plot and I have personally say the series is even better than the awful Twilight Saga.

The Characters

Katniss and Peeta are the two characters who are better than Edward and Bella, they have more chemistry than Edward and Bella and I just can't understand why people tend to compare these couples.
Their relationship is not rush like Edward and Bella, as the story progresses. Their relationship turns to friendship and as a team. This is actually one of the thing that I was hoping for before reading the book and I'm glad that Suzanne did not follow the same style as Stephenie Meyer, or that the latter did not write the book at all and include both vampires and werewolves in it!

"THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART II" (2015) Review

Some five or six years ago, Warner Brothers Studios began a new tradition when its executives made a decision to split its adaptation of the last "HARRY POTTER" film into two novels. A year later, Summit Entertainment continued this tradition by splitting its adaptation of the last "TWILIGHT" novel into two films. And now Lionsgate has done the same by adapting Suzanne Collins' last novel in her "The Hunger Games" trilogy with two movies. The studio ended the movie franchise with the release of "THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY, PART II".

This last film, which is based upon the second half of Collins' 2010 novel, picked up where the 2014 movie left off - with Katniss Everdeen aka "The Girl on Fire" recovering from being attacked by her close friend, Peeta Mallark, after he had been brainwashed by the Capitol into regarding her as an enemy. After being attacked by a supporter of Panem's President Snow during a propaganda campaign in District 2, Katniss is frustrated by rebel leader Alma Coin's insistence that she stay away from the battlefields. Fellow tribute from the...

Aries: the SCARIEST opponent, probably the most appealing person to team up with, they'd know how to use EVERY weapon, and could probably defeat anyone that stood in their way.

Taurus: very strong, very resourceful, knows how to get by in nature, probably wouldn't team up with anyone, would stick to the shadows and only fight if they had to.

Gemini: very quick witted, can act on a moments notice, can probably talk their opponents out of killing them, can and will fight, but look out if you do pair up with them because if there is only a few people left they might backstab you .

Cancer: the one who seems weak at first, but ends up losing all feelings and turns into a cold blooded killer and does anything and everything to survive.

Leo: another appealing person to team up with, very charismatic (a lot like finnick), beautiful, graceful but deadly.

Virgo: uses calculations and logic to get by, sets traps to kill their enemies or to get food, tries to stay as inconspicuous as possible but fights when they need to.

"THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART I" (2014) Review

The producers of "THE HUNGER GAMES" movie franchise decided to follow the examples of the "HARRY POTTER" and "TWILIGHT" franchises and divide its adaptation of the last novel in Suzanne Collins' literary series into two movies. The first of these two films is the recent "THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART I".

Based upon the first half of Collins' 2010 novel, "THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART I" picks up a few days or so after the end of the second film, "THE HUNGER GAMES - CATCHING FIRE". After being rescued by her mentor Haymitch Abernathy and Head Gamemaker of the 75th Hunger Games Plutarch Heavensbee, Katniss Everdeen finds herself as a resident at the underground rebel facility hidden underneath the ruins of District 13. Fortunately, her sister Primrose Everdeen and mother Mrs. Everdeen had been rescued by her close friend Gale Hawthorne before President Coriolanus Snow had ordered the bombardment of their home, District 12. Unfortunately, Katniss learns that her other close friend and fellow District 12 tribute/victor Peeta Mallark, District 7 tribute/victor...

Yes, everyone knows that Gale has had an eye for Katniss ever since they met. And it seems the obvious choice would be to choose Team Gale.
On the other hand, Peeta with his dreamy artistic ability, and his bakery smell, he has both talent and the looks. Peeta not only cared for Katniss in times when she had an issue as simple as a nightmare, to when she is paralyzed in horror of the games.

Gale didn't show much affection to Katniss, except for the few times they hugged out of friendship. Gale is more of that hard, expressionless type, that gets too jealous too easily. Its so simple to tell that yes, Gale also has the looks, and of course, he has skill. But he is not what Katniss needs. Gale has a hard heart, and wont let anybody in.

Peeta is soft, and tries to be a part of Katness more than Gale.

Gale is definitely out of the question. Peeta forever.

I look down at them, how dare they smile and laugh while I sit here in misery because of them? I try and close my eyes, tell myself that they cannot repent even if they wanted, at least not here. They can't say things like that in front of these men. I try and try to convince myself, but honestly, it's not true.

You look up rebel in the dictionary and there's a picture of her. Ragged clothing, one large braid down her back, defiance in her eyes. She allows a glance at me, then pats her husbands' lap. She walks slowly up the carpeted stairs. The men ask her where she's going, I can't hear them, but I know. She motions angrily at me, and they stare at her, hard, stone-faced.

Her husband gets up, angry. They see him coming and automatically let him by. Funny, odd, ironic? I don't know, maybe I'm in too much pain to be surprised, or feel any emotion besides pain and hatred, betrayal. She sits in a chair next to mine. “I still you hate you.” I whisper. She glares over at me. “You wouldn't be here if it wasn't for me.” she says it with a voice that lets me know she thinks she's superior.

24 kids. 12 districts. Only one will live. LET THE 47TH HUNGER GAMES BEGIN!
Jay's costume is almost exactly like mine, but his scales are a soft golden color and the gauze fins down his spine are blue. His costume splits at his waist and, unlike mine, continues into knee-length pants. Our chariot has been decked out with festoons of seaweed-like cloth and shells of every type imaginable.

When we roll out along the pink-and-yellow road of the capitol, Our ears are assaulted by applause and cheers. Jay smiles his crooked smile, glances my way, and waves at the crowd, indicating I should do the same, so I do. Glancing at Jay, I realize that his smile is a little fixed. I wonder if he's thinking about the same thing I am: If we die, they'll probably forget we ever existed within a week.

They've seen costumes like ours before, and they'll see them again. In all our splendor, even with all our training, here we are. Forgettable. Vulnerable. Dispensable.

The thought only strengthens my resolve to win. To show them that I'm more than just another tribute in the ever-changing pool.

"THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE" (2013) Review

Despite my enjoyment of the 2012 movie, "THE HUNGER GAMES", I must admit that I had regarded its sequel, "THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE" with a wary eye. One, the movie franchise had replaced Gary Ross with a new one, Francis Lawrence. And two, a relative who had read all three of Suzanne Collins' novels expressed a less-than-impressed opinion of the second installment, which this movie is based upon. But enamored of the first film, I decided to give this second one a chance.

"CATCHING FIRE" picked up not long after the ending of the first installment. The winners of the 74th Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, have returned to their homes in the impoverished District 12. But due to their winnings, both now reside in upscale neighborhoods. Before they are scheduled to embark upon their victory tour of Panem, Katniss receives a visit from the tyrannical President Snow, who reveals that her actions in the recent Games have inspired rebellions across the districts. He orders her to use the upcoming tour to convince everyone her actions were out of genuine love for...

Jot eats his tureen of beef stew with alarming speed. I savor the rich flavor of the meal, knowing I should put on as much padding as possible before the games begin to have energy reserves.

"So," he says. "we pondered quite a few ideas when designing your costumes. We could dress you as fishermen, but we feel that would be too... drab. Typical. We also considered dressing you as a wave, but we couldn't get the fabrics in time. So Reida (Jay's stylist) and I decided to try a new approach."

"New approach?"

"Yes. Would you like to see it?" He asks, standing up and pushing his chair in. He walks briskly, even though we have several hours until the opening parade.

-----------<()>-----------

"Close your eyes," he tells me. I hear the creak of the dresser at the far side of the room being opened. Then his footsteps. A dress is gently settled over my head and onto my shoulders. It weighs enough that it startles me into opening my eyes.

My Prep team is late. I sit on the tiled white floor of the makeover bathroom and wait. There's some kind of easy-listening music playing softly through the speakers, although I can't seem to locate where exactly the speakers are. Probably nanotechnology. I learned about that in school.

I hear giggles down the hall. My prep team must be here. Two silly-looking women come in. They're the weirdest looking people I have ever seen.

Both of them have neon pink skin and silver tattoos around their eyes. One of them has yellow hair. It's not blonde- it's too bright to be blonde. She looks like several lemons decided they would run through lemonade and bright yellow dye, mate with a canary, and create her hair.

The other's hair is as pink as her brightly-colored body, but what really draws my attention is her nails. They are at least six inches long, and covered in rainbow stripes and glitter.

Canary-lemon hair lady cheerfully warbles, "Hello! I suppose you're ARIELLE! I'm Astrid, and this," she says, gesturing to rainbow-nails-lady, "Is Estella!" She pronounces it es-TAY-uh.

I wake up suddenly, lying on the floor. I don't remember falling asleep, but at some point, I must've. I've been told that your brain processes things while you sleep, and mine obviously has, because I know how I'm going to win the Hunger Games.

I rise from the floor and walk to the dresser. Ugly dress I'd never be caught dead in, something ruffles that couldn't flatter the figure of a supermodel... THERE. In the bottom of the closet, shoved to the back by some Avox with no fashion sense, lies a pale green shirt with matching leggings and skirt. The edges are still a little lacy for my taste, but it's definitely the best thing in here. I put it on as quickly as I can and walk to breakfast.

As I walk to the dining car at the back of the train, I think about my solution.

Pretending weakness wouldn't make sense. I want allies, and I couldn't fool anyone anyway. I'm not a gigantic, bloodthirsty brute, either, so playing up ruthlessness is out. I need to play to the Capitol's whims without either giving up my true personality or losing allies. How do I find a good balance?

"I was frustrated. I threw a knife at the wall."
My tired and achy body feels numb beneath me. The gentle gliding motion of the train rocks me back and forth like the ocean carrying its waves to the shore. Except waves aren't being carried towards what will most likely be their deaths.

Jay, Tabbie, and Maggie, my mentor-everybody calls her Mags-, all ate in the dining cabin ages ago, but I requested dinner alone in my room. I need time to think and plan strategy. My dinner lies cold and untouched on top of my dresser, the only other piece of furniture in my dismal little train cabin besides my bed. I only have about seven days to prepare my strategy, and possibly even to live, and the only thing I can think of is how confident Jay looked when he ascended the platform and sat next to me.

I'll have to kill him. I will have to kill. Throwing a knife and stabbing a target is different thin than killing a human being. I'm worried that I will be incapable of murder when I'm in the arena. In frustration, I grab the knife off my dinner tray and hurl it at the light socket with all my might. It lands squarely in one of the little plug-holes. All of the sudden the lights flicker, and go out. Crap,...

I see Gale walk in, his breath deep and heavy. "What do you want?" I saw, confused because todays not a Sunday, so he isn't here to go hunting. Gale runs into my arms, almost pushing me over. I hold him back, and I don't want to let go. He turns over to my ear and whispers "I love you..." As Gales head turns back, his lips reach mine, and soon were locked in a deep kiss. He grabs one of my shoulders with one of his hands, and the other reaches my hair. He runs his fingers through my hair, sending a series of chills down my spine. I put one of my hands on his chest and the other on his cheeks to lightly stroke him. Gales tongue soon finds its way in, and I invite it in, not resisting. I don't know why, but I don't know why I'm letting myself go like this. President Snow will surly find out, and kill both us and our families. But its just seems, so right. Our tongues met and exchange greetings. Then I push back on us, and release from his grip. "No... Not now." I say in a slow, low voice. I'm thinking of Peeta, and...

O. M. G. Is it just me, or are Divergent and Hunger games, EXACTLY THE SAME!!!!! Both have problems involving some form of government, and both have wicked government persons. (btw beware this article will have some foul words.) Both Divergent and HG have badass characters and hot lead guy characters, (four and peeta and gale). Both states, or worlds, are divided in some form of colonies.WTF. Have you also noticed both have iconic symbols, the mockingjay pin, and Tris's bats?!?!?! Started to get what im saying??? Both have some kind of war wtch kills like tons of people. Each colony (wtch I mentioned earlier) have a symbol, and a different job. And I think this is so creepy, both main female parts (Tris and Katniess) LOOK EXACTLY FREAKING SAME!!! Same with four and Gale, who both also look kinda the same. Also there are differences to. Like Katniess didn't have a brother, but her father was killed. And Tris doesn't have a sister. But both have siblings. How does this happen, I don't know. And please don't be all pissy and bitching at me because im dishing both movies, because generally, I love both movies. This was just brought to my attention by one of my very close...

The justice building is huge, with carpeted floors the color of the stormy sea. I wait for my family in a round room. The whole place has a morbid feeling to it, as if the tributes who have been here before me haunt the place, traces of their restless spirits left behind. The creak of a door signals the arrival of my family. The sight of them breaks my resolve.

My mother hugs me and whispers how much she loves me. My father gives me a ring with a pearl set in the center as my token. My little sister smiles and says how happy she is that we'll be moving into the Victor's Village soon. Her confidence steadies me, and I know from my training that I must appear strong for the train ride and the interview.

Peacekeepers come in and lead my family out. I wait. After several minutes of silence, Alice- the girl I volunteered for- timidly comes in the door.

"Arielle?"

"Right here."

I hate the reapings in district 4. They hold them on a makeshift stage near the docks. Always at the crack of dawn. And because the sea faces east, we have to squint into the rising sun to see the platform. The glass reaping ball is erected in the center of the stage, casting its shadow into the crowd below.

Ah, there she is. Bubbly and neon-colored as usual, Tabbie Crankshat bounds up onto the platform. Fashionably late, as always.

“Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be EVER in your favor!” she warbles in the thick inflections of the Capitol accent. “Good morning, district four! Well! Let’s cut to the chase and find out which lucky one of you gets to represent your district in the 47th annual Hunger games! Let’s start with the girl, shall we?” My best friend, Alice, clutches my hand tightly. She’s 12, and this will be her first reaping.

Note: Please don't give me the, I literally am writing down my ideas. I know this didn't happen in any of the books, but idk really its just what im thinking.

Begin.

"Gale" I whisper in his ear as we lay in bed together.
"Gale.." I repeat a little louder.
"What is Katniss?" he says as he rolls over to face me.
"I cant sleep. want to go to the Capitol?" I say, nervous about his answer.
".... okay, but not for long. we can just check up on the prisoners."
"okay" I said wanting to jump with glee. We get out of bed, trying our hardest not to make much sound. Ever since we broke down the capitol, thing have been a lot easier. life hasn't been as rough. there are still the occasional deaths, you know, where people stand on covered land mines from the capitols last attack 4 years ago. things are getting better, but it will never go back to normal. not after what the people of Panem experience. History books have been written, children born, lives lost. but where we are now is much different to where we were.

Chapter two
A/N Sorry for taking so long, I procrastinate quite a lot… Please Review.

Losing my virginity was defiantly not how I imagined it when I was a young teenager, it was even better. Everything felt right, and it flowed perfectly in motivation between us, just like waves, he moved I moved. Peeta went the extra mile to make it memorable for me, but I suppose that could also be due to the fact that he has waited for that night for what seems like a very long time.
Peeta is my security blanket, he makes everything better, he understands, and I could not have wished for someone better to share my bed with for the first time. It didn’t last very long; it was his first time too. I would be lying through my teeth if I said it didn’t hurt at all, because of course it did, more then what your mothers try explain to you during ‘the talk’. The pain still lingered in my step to the breakfast cart the next morning. It made Peeta snicker in pride.

Since that night four weeks ago Peeta doesn’t hold back his open displays of affection amongst the presence of Effie and Haymitch, you could say I broke down that secure barrier and he wanted...

Description: After Katniss and Peeta were announced victors of the 74th Hunger Games, Katniss never had to pretend to love Peeta, because she did. But Snow still didn’t believe her. When Peeta and Katniss are drawn to enter the 75th Quarter Quil games, Peeta wasn’t telling a lie when he said they were expecting a baby.

I hold no rights over story and characters.

Chapter 1:
Katniss POV

We’ve come so far in the last few months, Peeta and I have been through the rockiest road of our lives and to say it’s been hard is putting it simply. The only thing that centres us both is each other, for we are only one that understands what the other is going through. When we hid in the cave, we realised we only had each other, and that was all. Panem could not be trusted, not even Haymitch, our mentor, the one person assigned to keep us alive.

Our lives were changed forever and only other victors understood that, the public only saw what they wanted to see and that was our love, a true love that triumphed over life and death. And although they weren’t far off, they missed one component, and that was the real love we shared...

There are many polls and discussions on whether Peeta or Gale is better for Katniss . Whose team are you on? Some Hunger Games fans prefer to be neutral and don't believe in "teams" but in terms of being the better man in general and for Katniss , this includes facts and opinions for both Peeta and Gale.
***** IF YOU DONT BELIEVE IN "TEAMS" than please dont post hateful comments, I understand that some people get annoyed with these types ot things but for the people who do prefer one guy over the other , i hope you enjoy my article :) ***

There are many reasons and good qualities for both of these men and after asking fans from both teams, as well as book facts and my own knowledge, I found these popular reasons for liking either Gale or Peeta

Gale reasons :

- Gale is a great hunter
- he cares for prim and katniss's mother and saves them both from the district 12 bombing, getting them out safely
-he is unselfish by applying for tesserae to provide for his family, even though it could cost him in the reaping

"THE HUNGER GAMES" (2012) Review

The year 2008 saw the publication of a best-selling novel for young adults called "The Hunger Games". Written by Suzanne Collins, the novel's success led to the publication of two sequels and a Hollywood adaptation of the first film.

Directed by Gary Ross and adapted by him, Collins and Billy Ray; "THE HUNGER GAMES" is about a sixteen year-old girl named Katniss Everdeen, who lives in a dystopian post-apocalyptic future in the nation of Panem, which consists of a wealthy city called the Capitol that is surrounded by 12 less affluent districts. As punishment for a past rebellion against the government, the Capitol created the Hunger Games – a televised annual event in which one boy and one girl from each of the 12 districts are selected in a lottery as "tributes". They are required to fight to the death in a wilderness arena until there is one remaining victor. When the name of Katniss' sister, Primrose, is called as the female tribute for their district, the 16 year-old volunteers to take Primrose's place in order to save the latter from participating in the 74th Hunger Games. Katniss is joined...

Districts gone to hell here,
And you bring me back for another?

Now you're talking crazy,
Saying the games made me,
Like I was your capital smile
Let's see how these games go
Right hand on my big bow,

Imma do it Mocking Jay Style(x2)

Back in district 12 , when it was reaping time. They called my sister prim, they pulled her out of line.

Momma always said she should never go away,
prim was way too young for these hunger games.

You bet that I believed her, every word she said. I volunteered for prim, yeah i went instead.

The baker boy, Peter mellark was his name,
we we're both sent off to those evil games

Ooh,
And what a lucky girl i would be

I thought it was over, me and peeta got to walk

After winning the 74th Hunger Games in the previous novel, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark return home to District 12, the poorest sector in the country of Panem. On the day that Katniss and Peeta are to start a "Victory Tour" of the country, she is visited by President Snow, who explains that he is angry with her for breaking the rules at the end of the last Hunger Games, which permitted both Peeta and Katniss to win. Snow tells Katniss that when she defied the Capitol, she inspired rebellion in the districts.
The first stop on the Victory Tour is District 11, the home of Katniss's deceased friend and ally in the Hunger Games, Rue. During the ceremony, Katniss delivers a brief speech to the people of District 11, thanking them for their participants in the Games. When she is done, an old man whistles the tune that Katniss used in the arena to tell Rue that she was safe. The song acts as a signal and everyone salutes Katniss, using the same gesture that she used to say farewell to Rue. Leaving District 11, Katniss and Peeta proceed to travel to all of the twelve districts and the Capitol. During an interview, Peeta proposes to Katniss publicly, hoping to settle the dispute...
