The photograph, Ocean View (ed. 5/6), by renowned artist Justine Kurland is up for auction THIS SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14/2009. Kurland's phtography is featured in many permanent collections, including the Whitney Museum of American Art. Kurland currently lives and works in NYC. This work was made famous hanging in the home of Bette and Tina (Bette actually made reference to it but I am not sure of the season or episode - sorry!). The photograph was taken in 2006 and is 30" x 40". It is valued at $8500. It is up for auction at the charity fundraiser, Art For Life (www.artforlife.net), benefiting the Vancouver Friends For Life Society which provides complementary therapies free of charge to individuals living with a life-threatening illness such as HIV and cancer.
