SIMS 3 ALL THE WAYYYYYY!!!!!! Im playing it right now!! i got it like 4 months ago and im still addicted!! Why r peeps saying that the graphics r better on the sims 2? there not!!! SIMS 3 IS BETTER!!! A lot of peeps who answer this question make up stuff to make the sims 3 look bad! random stuff like a bomb killed all may sims or something like that! Don't listen to them! get the sims 3!!! Also you guys r taking it to seriousely! So what another person likes sims 2 or another person likes sims 3! We can all be freinds here! :D
I like how the trait system introduced in the sims 3. This really allows you to flesh out your sims personality. Your sims can range from good, to insane, to technophobic. However, I think the personality in the sims 2 was more visible through animations and such. For example, sims who were mean would cheat at chess, throw the ball hard during a catch game.
While it is fun to see the various trait animations the sims 2 still wins hands down for this. The sims 2 was full of different animations. Your sims would vary up your hand movements when talking whether it be moving your hands like a spaceship, or cooing because you are shy. Mean sims would still cackle and deviously rub their hands together, and sims sloppy enough would even stir bowls of food differently.
Neighborhood This is a big toss up. Some people prefer the sims 2 style other like the seamless neighborhood of the sims 3.I think that the sims 3 style promotes sims to go out and explore as you can visit community lots without load times. It also makes the town feel more alive, and gives you an incentive to marry and grow old with your high school sweetheart. The sims 2 style neighborhood is better for people who want to play multiple families without having to worry about the other families growing up or moving out. The only problem with the sims 3 style is that certain building (like restaurants and grocery stores) have become rabbit holes, and you can't see your sim inside them.
Mood, aspiration/wants, and memories The sims 3 diffidently wins for mood. Mood plays a bigger part in a sims life directly affecting how they perform at work and at school. The addition of moodlets, also adds greater variety in sims mood, allowing them to switch from being happy to sad more quickly (such as when a sim dies). In the sims 2, mood had a smaller impact in their daily life, however it did lead to a few unique things such as nightmares. Aspiration/wants were done better better in the sims 2. In the sims 3 I like how there are a variety of perks that you can buy including teleportation. However in the sims 2 I like that the aspiration objects are intractable, and come with unique animations. I also like the fears bar and how sims can go into mental distress when their aspiration is low enough. Wants were also done better in the sims 2. Your sim gossips about things he has seen, remembers events for a time such as robberies or losing fights, congratulate each other on recent events such as making 3 best friends forever, or on the ****** they had last night. The sims 3 introduced memories in generations, but I believe that a lot of their memories come from moodlets. (ex they cry for the death of others while the moodlet is there)
I have all the sims games and every expansion yet have to say that Sims 2 for pc far surpasses The Sims 3 which was a total let down. Sims 2 has better towns available and with all the expansions is way addicting where as Sims 3 is well more like sims original. The only big difference is while creating a Sim you have more details in which to pick from and or modify, plus you can walk on foot to many more places although you can't see what is happening inside. Sims 3 is a complete let down and I'm looking forward to returning to The Sims 2 Pc game.
im not a 100% sure yet but so far im like 85% for sims 2... ive been playing sims 2 for many years now and i love it although sims 3 offers SOME better features such as being able to walk about in the hood' and in the CAS bit ive seen that the body shape thing is kinda cool and i think their version of vampires are way better than the sims 2 version.. however... the sims 3 are REALLY UGLY!! sims 2 looks so much more realistic! ive never actually played sims 3 but ive heard that the player cant see them in a store or resturant and stuff?? and that they cant go swimming? that doesnt sound good although in there pets pack sims 3 has HORSES (i love horses lol) so that sounds quite tempting.... i really dont know if i should buy it or not... i dont want to waste my money... but some features sound quite good and then others sounds crap.. help!!
TS3 is fun i'll admit that but after a few months it got boring and predictable and honestly i feel like i was being ripped off. Why? because it was 50 dollars for the game by itself the exchange items are but causes LOTS of glitches such as an invisble baby, naked clothing, etc. I love TS2 for lots of things such as:
Cute hair styles and clothing (handsome for guys i guess.)
Fun gameplay that doesn't bore after a few months.
There are WAY more interactions.
The houses look awesome.
The expansion packs and stuff packs are better.
Babies are more realistic (Do you see how they change diapers? And seriously the baby does not get out of the blanket.)
Overall,The Sims 2 is far superior than The Sims 3.
One thing I found most enjoyable when playing sims 2 was the ability to create. I created restaurants, shops, bowling alleys, libraries, uni dorms, apartments, vacation destinations and plenty more. I loved to see my sims using these places and going inside them. Now, on sims 3 you can't see your sim do anything! It's so annoying!
Another thing I'm disappointed with is that the families I make can't interact with each other, they simply don't exist to each other. If I make two families and I want them both to be friends, it can't happen. It's rubbish.
Yeah, and the sims now look stupid and cartoony.
I like the Sims 2 waaaay better than the Sims 3! One of the biggest flaws on the Sims 3 (and I mean on it's own with no expansion packs) is that there is only ONE neighborhood to choosefrom and you can only have one active family in this neighborhood without starting a new family. In the Sims 2, there are three default neighborhoods, not to mention you can even create your own. In the Sims 3 you can't have your Sims interact with any of Sim families of your own creation, on the Sims 2 you can. Also I feel that in the Sims 2, the Sims look MUCH more appealing! I think that the creators of the Sims 3 tried too hard to make the Sims look realistic, to me they look weird and identical. In the Sims 2 there is also much more choices to make on clothing, items, hairstyles etc. Yeah, the Sims 3 has a "creation" mode where you can choose the printed design and color on your clothes, house etc but I don't like it personally. After designing a house on th Sims 3 and creating Sims I quickly become bored, as where I can literally spend all day playing Sims 2. The way I look at it, The Sims 3 focuses more on designing houses and apparel and the Sims 2 focuses more on the lives of the Sims (which it should be all about!). I could write more, but I'm just going to stop here or I'd go on forever. If I could do it all over again, I would have never even bought The Sims 3. The game with all its praise and hype was a ginormous disappointment for me, and for many other die-hard The Sim's fans.
Bottom Line; Sims 3 sucks but Sims 2 rules
sims 2 is way better than sims 3 in every aspect of the game sims 3 brought up these rabbit holes like grocery and other stuff instead of the ability to explore and create your own shops, also the new idea introduced by the open bussines that allows the player to buy and start a business was great but now its gone and the world ambition seemed nice until i discovered that there was no hotels and the most exciting part of the vacation expansion pack was the ability to visit and build hotels and the sims 2 gave the perfect features that everyone loved but for some reasons the creatures of sims 3 wanted to try some new stuff and took away everything that made the sims 2 awesome
the sims 2 for sure, the sims 3 is a huge faliure, I think that they should have kept the sims 2 and create something like a update or expansion which replaces the loading screens with roads like in the sims 3, and maybe change the create a sim menu so that you can play with the body shapes a bit more.
Oh yeah!- story progressoion is the main thig!- I don't care about the rest if there were story progression
If I had to pick, sims 2 would win any day
1. I dont get a fun feeling while playing sims 3
2.i don't get to see my sims inside SOME community lots
3. I have had 2 computers and it has crashed on both of them
4. I spent $50 for disappointment
5.i have gave sims 3 a chance several times
6. It is harder to make friends and marry people
7. The clothing options are not the best
8. It's hard to make someone who doesn't look to fat or to skinny
9. Game has tons of glitches
10. Everything you do on the sims 3, they want to put it in a dumb scrapbook and it ticks me off how annoying it is
I like sims and I think sims 2 is good but sims 3 is better because of the geagrapics I like sims 2 but sims 3 is better I wish I had sims 2 I had to borrow it form my mom lol I need to save to buy it but sims 3 is awesome your just lucky they make sims ya know....I love sims 2 and sims 3 but give sims 3 a chance ;) think aout it Justin did! lol
i like aspects of both sims 2 and sims 3 i think they should stop making sims 3 expansion packs and completely make a new game(obvs still called the sims though) with sims 2 and sims 3 mixed together. i like the personality traits in sims 3 and how you can make your eyelashes longer or boobs bigger or smaller and choose your fav food but i do think they look quite cartoonish and sims 2 with downloads make the makeup and stuff better. i also like how sims 3 you can change the colour of clothes and objects but i think the wallpapers and floors arent that great same with most of the furniture though i do like how you can do laundry. one thing i cant get past the most though is the neighbourhood setting i didnt mind waiting on the loading with the sims 2 cos i go and get something to eat or get juice or whatever and i liked how you could actually go into the resteraunts etc and i liked making my own towns and multiple families that i could go between also cos me and my mum both play the sims we would make our families in the same town so they could be friends and you would see her sim go by my house and if someone didnt like you they would kick down your bin. i really think they have to combine all this stuff and there is quiet a few game flaws for sims 3 like when i got pets i couldnt have 2 people and a pet it would crash and my laptop is brand new cos i bought it specially for the sims 3 and overall not too happy
It depends on what you like about the sims, For example; On the sims 2 You have the neighborhood and you have families with in that, also you can make worlds just like that. Where as on the sims 3, You choose what world you want to go in then You go from there. So it's more like profiles than neighborhoods.
The sims 3 does get a bit of getting used to (i was confused at first) but overall I think it is better as you can Download or buy stuff from the sims website and still get things from the others, such as mod the sims etc. And sims 3 has a newer fresher look because I was getting annoyed about how old fashioned the clothes and furniture were on sims 2.
There was one other thing that I find really useful on the sims 3, You can rotate the furniture so that its on an angle. And you can put more than one or two items on a surface. Also there are way many furniture options and you can custimise EVERYTHING.
Hope this helped.
