One good point came from a commenter of this article: "I took Matt Davis tweet as {Only black people are mad about Bonnie's treatment} are Jewish people mad too? This implies that only people that share the same religious/racial background as Kat Graham care about her character."

The implication is truly upsetting. I don't share the same racial background as Kat Graham and Bonnie has been my favorite character from the very first episodes. I've always felt invested in her character and I care about how she's treated on the show.

It was a really messy situation, that's true. But yet again I'm noticing it was started by TVD fans. It seems to ALWAYS be started by them, tweeting cast members, bitching about how things aren't going how they want it to. It really annoys and saddens me, since I'm also a TVD fan (and I love Bonnie). Sometimes I just want to punch my compadres in the face and say "Leave the cast the fuck alone". Seriously, TVD is the ONLY series I'm a fan off where fans are insistently rude and bitch about writers/actors of the show they supposedly love. In other fandoms (i.e. Supernatural) when something happens we hate, or when a character is underappreciated or even killed, sure, we're upset. But we have faith in the writers that made us love the show in the first place. And we NEVER have Twitter wars with writers/actors. I'm just so disappointed with my fellow TVD fans who took part in that Twitter battle.
