A couple hours after the Winx's and the Specialists' departure for the Island of Stars...
Bloom sat by herself in one of the tiny, primitive cabins of their Red Fountain airship. She pondered her arduous quest. Maybe going for the center of the universe was not the smartest idea.
Prince Sky, who had not gotten a chance to talk to Bloom for a while, walked into the cabin and sat down next to her.
"Are you scared?" he asked gently. "Because it's perfectly all right to be scared, you know. This isn't going to be easy."
"I'm scared out of my wits," Bloom admitted with a sigh. "I didn't think it would have to go this way. I was being stupid. I thought this was going to be easier, but why else would Faragonda have used this quest to test me? I can't believe that never got to my head."
She was mostly talking to herself, but it was good to pour out this things to someone she trusted with her whole heart.
"Think about it, though. Everyone will be so proud of you once you accomplish this task," Sky said encouragingly.
"Once I accomplish this task?" she replied questioningly. "How about if I accomplish this task?"
"I know you'll do this well," said Sky. "Everyone trusts you. The fate of the magic of the universe lies in your hands, Bloom. Just be the best that you can be."
"I'm not ready for this, Sky!" she cried out. "This is going to be a failure!"
"It's not failure unless you stop trying."
Back on the Island of Stars...
Ember sat and watched Libra, the goddess of balance and harmony, as she carried items across the island to distribute to each of the seasonal sectors. Libra tended to do almost everything in a slow, meditative manner. She did not only maintain balances of energy, but also balance in its literal sense.
Right now, Ember watched curiously as Libra walked slowly past her. She was carrying a huge bowl of harvest seeds for the Nymphs of Abundance in one hand, a huge bag of flower seeds for the Flower Nymphs in the other hand, she had golden rays laid across her arms for the Sunbeams, and had a palm leaf skeleton balanced on her head, evenly weighted on both ends by fresh ice and snowflakes for the Crystal Ladies. Libra was the very image of balance itself.
If the island did not have to be so seriously maintained and protected, Ember would have liked to see what would happen if she jumped in front of Libra and yelled "Boo!" or if she had tripped her. Probably nothing.
After all, she was the goddess of balance. And she had to do her work correctly, without any interference. Otherwise, Stalene's reaction would probably whip up a storm that would wipe out every planet in the universe.
The island was not only divided into four sectors, but also in the center there was a magical lagoon filled with glowing, shimmering water that was fiercely protected by a siren, who had no name herself but went by Alena. The Valkyries' main duty was to ring the outsides of the lagoon to protect it. The island needed a lot of protection.
After all, it was practically made of magic.
