The X-Files Question

I still don' t know if I should watch the X - files...

The concept kind of appeals to me, I like riddles, conspiracies, mysteries etc. ,and I remember my mother giving positive feedbacks about it, but there are still some things that push me away from it.
First, I' m concerned about romance. Not that I have anything against it, just I had a depression about 1, 5 years ago and it was connected with love/ romance( let' s not deepen into the details, since it' s personal, knowing that I had a depression because of this is more than enough) . I spent over a year trying to get over it, working hard and doing everything that could distract me, avoiding anything that contained shipping/ romance, since seeing it only made it worse. I can say I completely got over it only recently, and I know that I still should be careful or it returns. From what I know, X - files contains romance/ shipping on one of the first plans( just background romance causes me to react less since there' s less of it) . I' m worried if watching a show with shipping in it would make me return to the former state. And please, don' t laugh at me about this. Just these are my personal problems that unfortunately inflict other spheres in my life.
Second, I heard in most cases Mulder, the believer, ends up being right. This is kinda puzzling to me, a logical analytic who relies more on logical chains and using them to predict things when trying to solve a problem, that in fiction the feely believer ends up being right.
So, due to the points listed above I still doubt whether to watch the X - files or not. Should I take the risk despite all the reasons listed above. Or maybe there is another show like the X - files that would be more friendly to my current state, counting the first reason listed?

Wow! Well all I can say is give the show a try. At least the first season, the show is not that complexed and at times is quite enjoyable. The conspiracy's will keep you coming back and the difference's between the two character's is what made the show so great. The truth is out there...

You should definitely watch the show. If you want to skip romantic episodes, then don't watch much of the later seasons. If you are okay with the occasional flirty comment or hug, then you should be fine with the earlier seasons, maybe 1-5 but avoid seasons 6-9. and even then, there isn't too much romance. it's an amazing show.

1. I'd think the romance aspect would be ok for you. For most of it, it's just vague hints in the background/teasing shippers. It only becomes a real couple in the last few seasons. And that was when David Duchovny pretty much left the show, too, so you don't see much of them as a couple.
2. Not really sure of what to make of your other worry. Isn't it expected to have the believer be right? I'd think that'd be one of the attractions of fiction.

It is a TV show, that encourages you to think outside any boxes.
Look into your own mirror and see if any parts fit your situations.

Love it!!
