Makenzie: *Backs up to her train in Santa Cruz, ready to head to Mossberg Harbor*
Bri: *Arrives with her passenger train*
Makenzie: Doesn't Tabby pull these trains as well?
Bri: Yeah, but not all the time. Mr. Baldwin has her do a few other jobs as well.
Makenzie: That explains why I haven't seen her in a long time.
Bri: Maybe you'll see her later. *Heads for the turntable*

Makenzie: *Leaving the roundhouse, she heads for the yards to take a passenger train*

Episode 158: Helper Service

Tabby: *Pulling a passenger train out of Mossberg Harbor*
Narrator: Tabby is one of two Atlantic type steam locomotives on the Island Of Errol. An Atlantic has four pilot wheels, four drive wheels, and two trailing wheels.
Tabby: *Blows her whistle as she goes through a railroad crossing*
Narrator: She has big cylinders, and some diesels can't take their eyes off of them.
Tabby: *Slowly passing through Delta Station*
Jesse: *Whistles*
Andrew: She's looking fine today.
Narrator: Mr. Baldwin usually has her pull short passenger trains from Mossberg Harbor to the station in Santa Cruz. He does this to play it safe with his 10 mile bridge crossing the Pacific Ocean. Tabby is the only engine light enough who is also capable of pulling the train. It is either two or three cars long. Bri pulls another passenger train to Santa Cruz, but she starts her journey at Nova Station. The two engines like working together, but sometimes, Mr. Baldwin will assign her to different jobs. Today was going to be one of those days.

The song stops as Mr. Baldwin talks to Tabby at the roundhouse.

Mr. Baldwin: I need you to go to Impala Station right now. Ms. Scarlett will explain why once you arrive.
Tabby: Yes sir. *Leaves the roundhouse*
Marisa: *Leaving Impala Station with a passenger train*
Ms. Scarlett: *Looking around the station* I thought this place would be busier.
Tabby: *Blows her whistle twice as she pulls into the station* Mr. Baldwin said you wanted to see me ma'am?
Ms. Scarlett: You must be Tabby. Very nice to meet you. Sharon just had a collision with McKayla. McKayla did not survive, but Sharon is being repaired. I need you to cover her for about a week.
Tabby: Yes ma'am. Where would you like me to take my passenger train?
Ms. Scarlett: There are six coaches waiting for you on platform 5. Take them to Eastwood Station.
Tabby: I suppose you want me to stop at every station. Jazlin and Mily say that you only want me to do that unless you tell me to go there non-stop.
Ms. Scarlett: You're well informed. Be careful of the hill, and good luck.
Narrator: Tabby got turned around, and refueled with coal, and water. She then coupled up to her train.
Tabby: I wish there could be more railroads like this.
Conductor: All aboard!
Tabby: *Blows her whistle twice. Her wheels slip, and she can't move the train* Oh come on! *Slips again* Hrrrrrr! *Slowly starts to move* Now we're talking.
Narrator: Because of her huge wheels, Tabby can go very fast, but this made it difficult for her to pull long trains.

Narrator: But as she continued her westbound journey, Tabby had an easier time.
Tabby: I think it's because my train's getting lighter. *Watching passenger get off at Porsche Station*
Conductor: All aboard!
Tabby: *Rings her bell as she pulls her train*
Narrator: When stopping at Angler Station, Tabby saw the hill in front of her.
Tabby: Good thing I saved my sand for later.
Conductor: All aboard!
Tabby: *Blows her whistle twice, and goes towards the hill*
Narrator: Some passengers didn't think she was going to make it with the heavy load behind her.
Tabby: *Going 20 miles an hour* I should be okay for now.
Narrator: But to their surprise, she didn't need sand at all.
Tabby: *Rolls down the other side of the hill* Huh, that was easier than I expected. *Applies her brakes, and stops at Mossberg Station*
Passengers: *Getting off the train*
Passenger 47: Good job getting up that hill.
Tabby: Thanks.
Passengers: *Getting on the train*
Conductor: All aboard!
Tabby: *Blows her whistle twice. She slips as she slowly moves forward* I don't get it. I had an easy time going up that hill. *Slips again* Why am I having a tough time pulling out of this station? *Uses sand, and goes faster*
Narrator: When she arrived at Eastwood, Tabby had no more work until tomorrow, so she decided to relax in one of the roundhouses with Citroën, and Larissa.

Stop the song

Citroën: Hello. Are you new here?
Tabby: I'm just covering for Sharon until she gets repaired.
Citroën: When will she be back?
Tabby: Ms. Scarlett didn't tell me, but she crashed into McKayla, and scrapped her.
Larissa: How awful.
Citroën: Sharon's usually safe. I bet McKayla passed a red signal, and got in her right of way. *Blows steam out of her cylinders*
Larissa: Ugh, that was disgusting.
Tabby: Meh. *Blows steam out of her cylinders*
Larissa: I'm going to a different roundhouse. *Leaves*

Both engines blew steam at the same time once Larissa got on the turntable, and left.

Citroën: I usually get complaints. Other engines don't like it when I do that.
Tabby: Hey, you gotta let it out every once in a while. It's actually feminine to break wind.
Citroën: That's what I keep telling everyone! *Blows steam out of her cylinders*
Tabby: *Blows steam out of her cylinders* That one felt good.
Citroën: You are now my best friend.
Tabby: Much obliged. I'm Tabby.
Citroën: Citroën.
Tabby: Are you French?
Citroën: Romanian, but I was named after the car company.
Tabby: That's what I thought. Your English is very good.
Citroën: Thanks.
Tabby: What other languages do you know?
Citroën: Only French, and Romanian.
Tabby: I've never learned those languages, but I know German, and Korean.
Citroën: Ooh, you should teach me one day.
Tabby: Of course, if you're willing to teach me Romanian.
Citroën: Gladly.
Narrator: But before they could start, Jessica pulled in.
Jessica: Hi you two.
Citroën: Hey.
Tabby: Haven't seen you in a while Jessica.
Jessica: *Turning clockwise on the turntable* Ms. Scarlett told me you were here to cover Sharon. She's very proud of how you handled your run from Impala Station. Now she wants you to be a helper. *Backs into the stall next to Citroën*
Tabby: Is this just for tomorrow?
Jessica: You'll be doing this for the rest of your time here.
Tabby: Okay. I am a little disappointed that I won't be pulling trains, but at least I'll be doing something.
Juliette: *Arrives* Well, well, I was wonderin' when I'd see Sharon's replacement.
Tabby: I'm not replacing Sharon. When she comes back, I'm returning to the Eastern Pacific.
Juliette: I heard you're a helper for the hill tomorrow. Let me give you some word of advice. Don't help me. I can pull my train by myself. *Leaves*
Jessica: I guess you never met Juliette before. She can be quite rude.
Tabby: We just met. What's her problem?
Jessica: Everything.
Narrator: The next day, Tabby and Alexis were the only engines working as helpers. Tabby waited for trains at Mossberg Station, and Alexis waited at Angler.
Margaret: *Stops next to Tabby*
Tabby: No way, another Atlantic.
Margaret: Are you new here?
Tabby: I'm just visiting from the Eastern Pacific until Sharon gets back. I'll blow my whistle when I'm ready. *Backs up to Margaret's last coach*
Margaret: *Watching her passengers get on board*
Tabby: *At the back of the train, she blows her whistle twice*
Conductor: All aboard!
Margaret: *Blows her whistle, and rings her bell as she pulls forward*
Tabby: *Pushing Margaret's train*
Narrator: It didn't take a whole lot of time for the high stepping engines to get the train to the top of the hill.
Margaret: *Blows her whistle twice* Thanks for your help Tabby.
Tabby: *Watching Margaret roll down the other side of the hill* You're welcome. *Heads back to Mossberg Station*
Narrator: A few minutes passed, and Tabby saw Juliette race past.
Tabby: She said she didn't need my help, but I wouldn't be surprised if she stopped soon.
Juliette: *Slowing down* I can't let that engine with four driving wheels help me. She's too weak to be a helper.
Narrator: Much to Juliette's disappointment, her train stopped. The hill was too steep.
Tabby: *Giggles as she heads to Juliette's rescue*
Juliette: *Watching Tabby go towards her train* Hey! I told you not to help me! Why don't you go couple up to a caboose, and slip for half an hour?
Tabby: Just because I have big drive wheels doesn't mean I can't pull trains. I'm helping you over this hill whether you like it or not.

Juliette: Grrr!! *Slowly moves forward*
Tabby: *Slips fiercely while pushing Juliette's train*
Juliette: *Lets out a nervous sigh* We're never gonna make it over the hill.
Tabby: *Her face turns pink as she slips, pushing Juliette's train over the hill*
Passenger 94: *Looks at Tabby behind the train* Hey, I know her. She works on the Eastern Pacific. Go Tabby!
Narrator: Other passengers joined in.
Passengers: Go Tabby!
Juliette: Tabby?! What kind of a name is that?!
Tabby: *Grunts as she slips non-stop for five seconds*
Juliette: *Getting close to the summit* How'd we get to the top so quickly?
Tabby: *Slipping again* Almost......
Juliette: *Goes down the other side*
Tabby:...There!
Passengers: *Cheering* Thanks Tabby!
Tabby: *Panting* You're welcome. *Coasting down the hill back to Mossberg Station*
Narrator: Ms. Scarlett was waiting for the Atlantic as she stopped in the siding*
Ms. Scarlett: Well done Tabby. I saw the entire thing.
Tabby: *Pants* Thanks.
Ms. Scarlett: Thank you. You look exhausted. I'm gonna have you switch jobs with Kinsey. You'll be switching passenger cars in the yards, but first, take a 15 minute break.
Tabby: *Backing up to the fueling track* I could definitely use some water.

Stop the song. Juliette was talking to Ian in Impala Station.

Juliette: I am really sick with the engines on this island!
Ian: Who's bothering you now?
Juliette: Another steam engine from your railroad, who goes by the name of Tabby.
Ian: Ugh, not her. I used to date her, but our relationship only lasted three weeks.
Juliette: Everyone on my railroad is also harassin' me, saying I should be more polite.
Ian: I'm tired of that attitude they keep giving me as well. I got an idea. Let's start our own railroad.
Juliette: Why didn't I think of that sooner?
Ian: We'll become allies with the Northern Errol Line, and crush everyone else!
Narrator: We'll see if they succeed in the next episode. See you again in seven days.
