[Megatron's Point of View]
“Megatron, an Autobot shuttle has appeared on our radar, but it has crashed and all life signatures have ceased,” Starscream told me.
“Good,” I replied, “Did you retrieve anything that might be of value to our side?”
“No, you entrusted Sledge’s scouts with that job.”
“Of course. Sledge, what did they find?”
“Nothing yet, Lord Megaton,” Sledge answered, “but I’ll check in with them.”
WHAT!” I then pinned Starscream against a wall. “Why you are back here when the scouts are still scavenging the wreckage?”
“You told me to wreck the ship, and I have done just that. Lucky for you, I left my seekers out there to guard the wreckage.”
“Lord Megatron,” Sledge interrupted, “The Constructicon scouts have informed me that it was nothing more than a personal cruiser and that its passengers are missing.”
I then punched Starscream in the face. “You failed me yet again, Starscream. Slicer, Bombshock, over to me!” The two generals did as they were told. “I need you to have your stealth operatives locate this fleshling.” I projected an image a black wolf with blue highlights. I want you to find him and bring him to me alive.”
Yes, Lord Megatron,” they replied before exiting to their separate regions of the base.
“Lord Megatron,” Starscream said, Why in the name of Cybertron are you concerned with one Earthling?”
“Not concerned, Starscream,” I answered, “I’m actually eager to meet him. This wolf could be our greatest ally.”
[Lancewing’s Point of View]
I was finally repaired from my crash-landing and was properly introduced to the other Autobots. Once that was done, Optimus Prime took me, Ironhide, and Bumble to a railroad museum to look for alternate forms. When we got there, we were greeted by an earthling. He was obviously canine. He had near-grey fur with lighter highlights. He was wearing a white shirt, blue jeans, and a black jacket. Optimus Prime said to us, “This is Balto. He was the first to find out about us and he and his family have vowed to protect our secret.”
Balto nodded and said, “It’s a pleasure to meet all of you. Now, let’s take care of your appearance. Though my family and I may be used to seeing alien robots, other people are not. When Prime’s crew landed here, I walked out of my office and was shocked to see giant alien robots in front of me. In order to prevent that from happening to other people on Earth, they scanned some vehicles here in order to blend in. Now you’re going to do the same. So, take your time and find a form you really like.”
I scanned a “Rail Star” 700 bullet train which resulted in my transtector taking that form. My brainmaster unit then scanned Balto, looked through his family tree, and took the form of a white wolf. I looked over to Ironhide, who scanned a Santa Fe 95 diesel, and Bumblebee, who scanned a B-5112 steam locomotive. We were then greeted by Balto's wife, a red and white purebred husky named Jenna, and his kids; Saba, Kodi, Aleu, and Kiona. Optimus then got an alert from Teletraan-1, our main computer. He turned to us and said, "The Decepticons Slicer and Bombshock have been spotted. They are powercore combiner, so they will be dangerous."
"What're your orders, Prime," Ironhide asks.
"Lancewing, you will watch Balto's family and make sure they remain unharmed. Balto, Ratchet, you are needed in the command center. The rest of us will deal with the Decepticons. Autobots, roll out!"
"Optimus wait," Balto shouted. When Optimus turned to him, Balto continued, "I have something for you."
[Optimus Prime’s Point of View]
Balto said that he had something that he believed I would need. We went over to the weapons hangar and saw two boxcars. They both have a blue stripe and the Autobot insignia.
Balto explained, “We have noticed that the Decepticons are growing stronger every day. At this rate, even you wouldn’t last long on the battlefield. This is why I came up with this. These boxcars will be able to do two things: (1) convert into a command center or (2) combine with you for additional power. The energon levels in that second mode are limited, however, so don’t use it too often until that problem can be fixed.”
“Thank you,” I replied before transforming into vehicle mode and attaching to the boxcars. “Let’s hope these last because we will need them.”
