Chapter 10: Do You Swear to Tell the Truth and Nothing But the Truth
Simone stared wide eyed through the bars locking her into the cell. It was the only thing that kept her from snapping everyone's heads off. The guard was gone but replaced by another man. He was tall, muscular, and had the most unscrupulous grin on his face. It made Simone feel extremely uncomfortable. He had jet black hair and light green eyes. His eyes were sincere at time when he looked at her, but other times he made the hairs on the back of Simone's neck stand up. She didn't like this guy but surprisingly she had been texting him for the past week. She thought he was a cute guy but he wasn't. He was a phony. He resembled nothing of his Facebook picture and he truly wasn't into all of the same things she was into like shopping, romance, or arithmetic. He just lured her into his trap so her father could squirm. He was brilliantly clever and she was unbelievably naive. Both were elements that brought her here.
Sammy played the role as an 18 year old boy who was searching for love. Simone played the role as the naive girl who believed anything and everything he told her. They played their parts well. She sometimes wanted to go back to that Fairytale world. Anything would be better then this place.
"Sorry butterscotch," Sammy said as he knelt to eye level. "It looks like no one cared enough to pay your bail. It looks like you'll be dying a lonely girl tonight. This place will blow to shreds in 4 hours. My crew and I will be long gone before that bomb blows." He pointed towards the corner of the door. He waved goodbye and left.
It was true. No one had come for Simone. She would die in just hours knowing her family didn't love her. Was that really the way she wanted to die? No. She had to do something, anything, about it.
Jason stared at his watch. Sidney stood at the podium taking her sweet time with her questioning. They were running low on time. Time is was everything. Jason was positive that Simone would be dead but he was hoping that maybe he could catch Sammy. Lauren, Serena, and Faye were all seated together. They too were waiting for Sidney to get done. She must have forgotten that her best friend's life bomb was ticking! This plan would be taken into action in about one hour and if they weren't at the hideout soon, they might miss their big chance.
Serena went out the door followed by Lauren and Faye. She was tired and she wanted Sammy dead. Jason shrugged towards Sidney and tapped his expensive watch. She nodded. They had to go now. Sidney would stay here and make sure Carter is jailed whether she likes it or not. She could survive a couple of hours without them to support her.
Yesterday everyone who was ever apart of the D.B.E got together to discuss the recent accidents. They needed an idea on how to get rid of Sammy the Booker once and for all. Many who still thought of Sammy as a savior didn't come. Those who never like Sammy thought that maybe he was hiding out in a mountain but Sammy was afraid of heights. He definitely was housing Simone in a cavelike home. They tried watching the video that was released on the news but nothing. Joseph Knight, Lauren's dad, pointed out a little sign to the left of Simone's compartment. It was the same sign they saw when they were in high school. This was their hideout. Rookie mistake Sammy. It never occurred to them that Sammy have wanted them to figure it out.
Serena led the way into her red BMW. They had to travel all the way across town to the secret cover of trees. There was a thick area filled with trees and those trees hid a small opening which led to a cave. They went there all of the time for D.B.E. business. When they finally arrived, the place was blocked off by two buff guards in overalls.
"Sorry, you can't enter," said the dark brown haired one.
"And why not?" interrogated Jason.
"There is a bomb down there bro! You don't want to be blown to smithereens, man," replied he blond haired guard. "I mean like bits everywhere!" He made a demonstration with his hands. His partner hit him on the chest.
"You weren't suppose to tell them that," the other guy hissed. The blonde just shrugged in response. He obvious was too dumb to comprehend what he just did.
"Is Simone down there?" investigated Serena.
"Of course she is!" retorted the blonde guard. The brown haired guard slapped his partner this time. The blonde guard crumbled to the ground whimpering.
"You can't go down there," said the only guard standing. Jason took defense position.
Serena just pushed him aside. She kicked the guard square in the face. He didn't even see it coming. Serena then slid his body away from the entrance as they stomped up the stairs to find Simone.
Simone thought this would be the end. She didn't want to die like this. If she was going to die, she was going to die trying. With only 3 hours, 20 minutes, and 5 seconds on the clock she needed a fast getaway. The only thing useful in her cell was her daily glob. She was already weak from not eating. She didn't know what to do now. She scooped the glob but instantly dropped it back on the plate. It scorched her hand off! The thing was burning hot. That gave her an idea. The only thing that might save her life is her daily glob that she never ate.
They made it towards the main center of the cave. There was three tunnels. Jason only remembered that the wrong tunnel led to, certain death. That is where they kept, Henry, the German Shepherd or in other words, Henry, The Flesh Eater. He has been the reason for a lot of murders.
"It's that one," Serena said. She pointed towards the middle tunnel. "I'm positive. The right leads to Henry while the left leads to the conference room."
Before Jason could ask how she possibly knew that, they were already rushing towards the middle tunnel. Then it went black. Everything was pitch black. They couldn't even hear their own screams
"Just hold hands and keep to the wall. We shouldn't get lost and whatever you do, do not make a loud sound." Serena clamped on Jason's hand, Jason to Faye, and Faye took Lauren's hand.
"You know when you say don't make a loud sound, that is when people usually make a really loud sound," commented Lauren. Faye tripped on her shoelace and fell on Lauren who made a loud thud in against the wall. There was some rumbling and the walls began to shatter.
"Run!" shrieked Serena. The lights came back on just in time for them to run. Lauren was always predicting the truth. It was her talent.
Simone had flung her glob at the metal bars. The bars instantly melted which made a small hole for her to escape out of, maybe the guard had wanted her to escape. As soon as she made it out, the whole building started shaking and crumbling. She didn't know if this was from the bomb or was it something else. The bomb wasn't set to go off for another 2 hours 49 minutes and 32 seconds. Going the way out was already blocked. She had to find a different route.
The only route left was the hole in the wall that led out. She had seen the guards use it before. All she had to do was kick it and she could get out.
"Simone!" screamed her dad who came bursting from the rubble along with Faye, Lauren, and a lady who looked vaguely familiar. "Follow us,"
"No follow me," She protested. She kicked the hole opened which led outside. It snapped right out and they were free.
They didn't make it that far because Sammy the Booker was right outside holding his gun. He had that crooked smile on his face. He had about three guards behind him. "I knew it was you. As soon as I saw the cave crumble I knew you had come." He stared at Jason and Serena. "Jay, come join me. Don't be like Martinez and get yourself killed."
Jason's stared at his daughter. "No, I won't let you murder these innocent people. This isn't high school. I am not your servant." He stood tall and firm. Sammy was shocked. Jason had never stood up to Sammy before.
"This isn't a side I like seeing from you, Jason. Fine have it your way." Sammy held the gun up and he was about to shoot when . . .
"Now!" Serena yelled. The three guys behind Sammy attacked him. The gun fired off into the air and flew a few feet away from Sammy. Serena took the gun and they all ran. They didn't stop until they got into Serena's car and drove home. The only place the could think that was safe and free from the nightmares.

I will not be under your tyranny
Your cruel and oppressive force
Yes, maybe you should be my leader
But that doesn't mean I should follow you all the time
Do you know he's got you bound
Under ropes and chains of cruelty
Well, I don't wanna be a follower
If it means I have to be a killer
No, I'm not exactly kind-hearted
But that doesn't mean I have to kill, kill, kill
I don't wanna be just a senseless follower
I have a heart, I have a soul, so I don't follow you
I don't just wanna be a follower
So I don't give a fuck bout what you do, do, do
But I myself will not give in to the tyranny
So you'll watch me leave
No one's gonna stop me
Look, I'm walking out the doors of tyranny
And I'm not gonna be a senseless follower
Ever again in my life.
