Hatsune Miku: The first sound from the future
Kagami : Mirror (Mirror image, Rin and Len can be considered mirror images of each other, as said by the company) ne:Sound Rin: R for Right (like on Headphones) Len: L for Left
Mergurine Luka: Sound that goes around (because she sings in both English and Japanese)
Prima: from the term "Prima Donna"
Sonika: Hindu name for "Golden" (she wears a yellow...
1) This song was made popular by Sakine Meiko. Other Vocaloids did covers of this song but none of them were as popular as the one Sakine Meiko made. 2) Sakine Meiko is just the younger version of MEIKO, in which Sakine sounds 16 like Miku.
So I'm writing this hopefully to help people who are newer to the fandom and don't really know all of the vocabulary a person may drop when talking about vocaloids. I'm going to try and include as many words as I can and make the definitions as clear as possible, please comment if there's a word you'd like to see on this list or needs a better definition ^^.
Vocaloid1 (V1)- refers to the first group of vocaloids to be released, using early, now primitive V1 technology (basically they don't sound as clear/realistic as vocaloids from later series) includes vocaloids such as LEON, LOLA, Miriam,...
