VRSOF Question

Hey guys, I have a question about the search engine of Fanpop

How does it work? Does it use keywords, or does it go for the title?

Because I went onto this spot, and I went to the search engine, and it said "no results" but when I went through the photos pages, I found what I was looking for, but it wasn't mentioned in the search engine.

It definitely used to be based just on keywords, but I think when they changed the search system a little while ago, the changed it so that titles were also indcluded in the search engine searches.
The thing is, I have tested it quite a bit and it doesn't always work that way. For example, if I search this spot for "Wow.." (the title of this image link), it does not come up in my search.
But If I search for "rating milestone", then images (such as this one: link) will appear in the search because they have used "rating milestone" as a keyword.

I think titles are used by the search engine when the content hasn't been given any keywords at all. For example, in the Lee DeWyze spot (sorry, current obsession!), if I search for "Alex Lambert", this keywordless video appears in my search: link

BUT if I search for "Treat Her Like A Lady", this video: link DOES show up in my search, despite the lack of keywords.

So I think the search function probably uses both titles and keywords, but it might depend on how many keywords are used and the accuracy of the titles and the words you use to search for those titles.

I know what you mean. Like on the Angela/Hodgins spot, I was trying to see what screencaps have been added, so I'd go search. But it would say "not found." But if I went through the screencaps, look at the keywords and searched it was still not there. And I copied and pasted my own submission into the engine and it didnt work either. So I was confused!
