Chapter 9

"Jaypaw, from this moment you will be known as Jaynose. StarClan honors your courage and your determination, and we welcome you as a full warrior of MistClan." Mistfur meowed.
"Dawnwhisker, Greenfeather, Lionfur, Ivywing, Moonwhisker, Willownose, Creamwhisker, Teapelt, and Jaynose!" The clan cheered. Dawnwhisker headed off to the medicine cat's den.
"Wait! Dawnwhisker, where are you going???" Mistfur asked.
"I had a pain in my stomach, so I am going to Wetnose." Dawnwhisker meowed.
"Ok. Don't be a loser for StarClan's sake!" Icywind hissed sharply. "Icywind! Hush! Don't be so rude!" Mistfur hissed. "Sorry!" Icywind hissed back with her tongue out.
"Seriously. Icywind is RUDE." Poppydawn mumbled.
"Yeah, I know..." Raventail meowed quietly.
"This is OUTRAGEOUS! I can't believe Sandwing became deputy! I think Mistfur deserved that." Mousewhisker hissed.
"You got that right, Mousewhisker." Hazeltail purred.

Later in the day, all cats were healed.
"Ok, Hopestar. Here they are." Wetnose meowed. Hopestar could only see four of her cats instead of seven. "Where are Darkwind, Harefur, and Honeyheart?" Hopestar asked.
"Dead, except for Harefur. I don't think he will survive..." Wetnose meowed sadly. Harefur was Wetnose's father.
LATER IN WETNOSE'S DEN...
"Here he is," Wetnose sighed. "Hope- Hopestar... Is that you?" Harefur meowed slowly. "Yes," Hopestar meowed. "Hopestar... I... am dying. I need you to pick... a new deputy..." Harefur sighed.
"No! Harefur! You can't die! Who is worthy enough to be deputy?" Hopestar cried.
"Sandwing. She can do it. I know she can." Harefur purred. Then he replied again, "Take care of MistClan for your next three lives." Then Harefur closed his eyes and gave way to dizzying blackness. And it was true that Harefur was dead and has joined StarClan.
