"Us Against The World"

[Nicky:]
Us against the world
Against the world
Us against the world
Against the world

[Shane:]
You and I, we’ve been at it so long
I still got the strongest fire
You and I, we still know how to talk
Know how to walk that wire

[Mark:]
Sometimes I feel like The world is against me
The sound of your voice, baby
That's what saves me
When we're together I feel so invincible

[Shane:]
Cause it's us against the world
You and me against them all
If you listen to these words
Know that we are standing tall
I don't ever see the day that
I won't catch you when you fall
Cause it's us against the world tonight

[Nicky:]
Us against the world
Against the world

[Mark:]
There’ll be days
We’ll be on different sides but

Dear Fans, it’s been a while. We have much to tell you!

Earlier this year there was a meeting in London. Not long after that meeting, the search for new songs began. We searched far and wide. Our search proved to be very successful and we can’t conceal our excitement any longer! It is our great pleasure to announce the following...

There WILL be a new album this year. We are very happy with all the new songs and simply cannot wait to hear what you think of them! Regarding the website, it’s out with the old and in with the new so hold tight for brand new pictures and layout coming soon plus all the info on forthcoming promotional schedules...

We've missed you all very much and can’t wait to catch up!

For now watch this space,

Love from Kian, Mark, Nicky and Shane x

Hi everyone

I just wanted to say hello and fill you in on everything that’s been going on over the last few weeks as it’s been a while since you heard from us.

Christmas was really lovely. It was actually a bit of a weird one in a way because Gillian’s granny died the day before Christmas Eve. She was 95 and had lived a great life and seen four generations of the family. It actually brought us all closer together and Christmas Day was really special as we had all the family around us – we had 17 of us here for Christmas dinner. Gillian did the cooking, as she also did on New Year’s Day, when there were 34 of us, including 17 grandchildren!

It was probably the nicest Christmas so far, because I hadn’t been rushing around doing promotion and then hurrying to try and buy presents and stuff, so we could enjoy the build-up properly. I’d been looking forward to it for a long time and it was so nice to be at home with the family. Gillian surprised me with a camera that I’d really wanted for ages on Christmas day, which I was so happy with. I got her some handbags and boots and shoes and stuff. It was also the first year that...

Hey eveyone :) I just wanted to let you guys know about a new Westlife fansite I've started, I'm hoping you all can check it out and leave feedback/comments and help out!

The fansite, Westlife Fans: www.westlifefans.com is pretty new, we're just launching it but well, more than a fansite, I have a bigger plan. I want it to be a community where everyone can register and contribute to the community! That means that besides of me admin posting the info, everyone who wants to will be able to submit information, news, pictures, etc. of Westlife... this way, the information, news and resources on the site will be better! The only requirement so far for posting is to register a username, but that's totally free. Plus, everything you post would be credited to you. :)

So please, please, check my site out! www.westlifefans. Feedback and comments are greatly appreciated, and well, help with posts is of course extremely welcomed!

In the last few years of their success, Westlife have refused to follow the toe-path of the regulation boyband. “Are we even a boyband anymore? I have absolutely no idea,” says Nicky Byrne, with disarming candour. Tradition has it that after the first five years, absolute maximum, the boyband must by default implode to make way for the new model. With Westlife, there simply hasn’t been a new model to outshine them. On the straight up British pop roster, Westlife have existed since before SClub7, B*Witched, Blue, Girls Aloud, Atomic Kitten, Busted, Misteeq, McFly, Liberty X and all the countless other record company follies that have disappeared without trace. Of those that they haven’t already outlived, you could put a pretty safe fiver on the rest bowing out before they. As a functioning, multi-purpose, thoroughbred pop operation, they are now twice as old as Take That were when they split for the first time and three times as old as Wham! were when they went forever.

One of the reasons for this is their unnerving agility and ability in rendering music that cuts straight to the primary core of a largely forgotten pop audience. Tuneful, melodic, simply...
