Do you think its right for wolves to be hunted down for such foolish reasons? I mean sure if a wolf does attack you and you have to kill it, okay, i can understand that. But most hunters like to kill wolves for their beautiful fur, as trophies, and for other various reasons.

I TOTTALY disagree with the whole reason of hunting down poor animals like wolves! Wolves are like a 'belief' to me and i know to other people. They are suck graceful, caring, loving, feirce, vicious, and beautiful creatues. They have NO right to be killed. If They over populate in one part of our coutry; let them live, don't EVEN hunt them down like a little hide-and-seek game. Sadly, but i'm not exactly sure but they might get killed by Grizzly bears.

One of the few things of the wolves that they keep other animal populations down; such as Elk, Deer, Moose, Rodents, ground birds, and maybe little bear cubs or full adult-grown bears :(.

But as i said before i don't think its RIGHT at all for hunters to be killing them for selling, trophies and ect. ect. Wolves NEVER EVER did a thing to us! they may have attacked a few humans before; but they might have threaten their cubs or home. Let the wolves live in peace as we should and they'll respect us.

It is not right. Wolves rarley attack people-many people confuse wolves with coyotes. They only attack to defend cubs or themselves.

Wolves can also save peoples lives by driving off a bear or some other big animal. Also, have you heard old stories, like a house burning down and a wolf going in there and taking a newborn human and raising it as its own. They don't pose a threat to us humans.

Alright, I already posted a comment like this on the debate spot, so I'll just copy and paste it on here:

"The reason wolves should not be hunted is because they are HUNTERS. Not the HUNTED. I dare you to name one person RIGHT NOW who eats wolves....
Couldn't think of anyone could you?

Don't get me wrong, some animals can be both (seals, for example) but wolves are not one of them. Seals are used to being hunted, and, correct me if I'm wrong, their social structure does not fatally change if one of the seals die and is eaten. Wolves, on the other hand, do NOT deal with a pack member's death very well. For most animals, the mother brings up the offspring on her own until they reach a certain age, and then the mother completely leaves them and the young learn how to fend for themselves. I don't see that as cruel; the mother prepared them to live on their own their whole lives. Wolves, on the other hand, do not do that. Two wolves can bond for life, I believe, and they never leave each other. A wolf pack consists of two parents and their offspring - they are a FAMILY. The pack hits complete devestation when one of their family members die. This doesn't always happen with other animals. And what I mean is, YES, ALL animals feel grief, but wolves are greatly impacted by that grief more than most animals. They are not like most creatures, lone hunters who mate only once a year and have their young.

Maybe I should word this differently... all animals feel grief in the same type of way, but wolves are family animals, and it takes them much longer to get over that grief, because they can't get over the fact that one of their family members is never coming back. It can take years for a pack social structure to reshape itself after a disaster like that. Not to mention some rare wolves can actually go into panic-breeding, but don't let me get into that.

It especially affects the pack if one of the parents (formerly called "alphas") dies. Not only does the other parent lose its mate and its partner, the rest of the pack loses one of their parents and role models. It takes a while for the rest of the family members to get over the emotional trauma. And it just sickens me the way someone could kill one of the wolf pups. They are PUPPIES. They are YOUNG. They are BABIES still learning and growing into adolescence, just like us. Not to mention if you kill the mother, and her pups are still very young, they could starve and die due to the fact that their milk source is gone. So now, not only do you kill one wolf, you kill about five or six. Way to go, Clueless.

And no, I am not a vegetarian. I just believe some animals cope better with deaths than other animals, and wolves are not one of them. Wolves were not MEANT to deal with that much. Don't get me wrong, wolves die in the wild on their own accord all the time, but killing them outright for fun should never be an option. This is why we are destroying life on the Earth. Because we have become desensitized to killing like this.

All you people who think killing a wolf is just grabbing a gun and then going "BOOM, wolf is dead" should seriously get your facts straight. Killing a wolf is much more than that. Killing a wolf affects others, not just the one wolf. I can't believe you could destroy a family like that for fun. In fact, hunting in general still annoys me. I'm okay with it if you eat the animal, but killing for sport is just... wrong. Just because their feelings aren't as complex as ours doesn't mean they don't have feelings. I don't think animals have actual language-type thoughts in their head, but they still know what sadness, love, and fear feels like. And pushing that unnecessary fear and sadness onto them isn't exactly healthy, and it's sure not helping anything but someone's pride. And it's about time their pride was bruised.

I repeat: Some animals cope better with being hunted because they are PREY.

BUT WOLVES ARE NOT PREY.

I'm sorry I don't have any sources to back me up... believe me, if I could reference anything, I could."

There you go. :)
