Writing Question

Got any tips for beating the dreaded writers block?

I keep getting writers block and I'm not patient enough to just wait it out.

Stare at a seemingly random pattern. Your mind will start making connections within the pattern, revealing the path your thoughts are taking. I once wrote a story based on the image of a knight's sheild and a horse. The ceiling tiles used in many public places work best. (Of course, this means you can use the old "the answers are on the celing" thing if your writing teacher happens to notice.)

Write a fanfiction? It's easier on a writer-blocked brain to use already established plotlines and characters.
Otherwise, think up monsters or something paranormal. My doing that led to the Arthatch, Medusae, Keevtser... well, you get the point. It's fun to write about monsters and heroes.

watch TV, read a book, do something to give your mind a jump start by stimulating it with getting your mind on something creative, i would also consider watching a movie, thats how i usually get me started when im stuck when writing

I get writers block from time to time as well and what I found helps me is putting my earphones in and listening to music that reminds me of the story or the characters. It definently helps and makes more ideas pop into my head. Hope it helps! :)

I find that two different things help when I get writers block. The first one is to do something different, like listening to music or going for a walk. When my mind isn't focused on my writing the answers sometimes just pop in! The other thing is to read a book that you really love, or your favourite movie, or even music that relates to the story you're writiting. Hope this helps!

Just calm down, do some random stuff, maybe think a little every now and then, and eventually it'll work itself out.(at least for me it does.)
