CHAPTER ONE
“I’ve got it!” Shade squeaked.
“Hurry!” Emerald barked, trying to keep up with him.
“Corner it there, quick!” Kitmira barked.
Shade turned the rabbit toward the thick thorn bushes. It was getting tired. Shade pounced; he landed perfectly on its back.
“Bite it!” Neko commanded.
Emerald lunged forward and sunk her teeth into its neck.
“Good catch!” Mamma called.
“Did we hunt like a pack?” Kitmira asked.
“Yes, very good pups!” Shayla, their mother, walked over to examine their kill.
“Hunting already?” Their father, Smoky said trotting up to his mate, “They’re hardly allowed out of the den on their own.”
“We’re old enough!” Neko announced.
“I know you are.” Smoky agreed, “Shayla, may I have a word with you please?”
“Inside the den pups,” Shayla ordered, “you can eat your kill.”
“Alright Mamma.” Kitmira groaned. The pups dragged the rabbit between them back to the den.
“Come this way.” Shayla led her mate to a quiet spot where she could still see the den through the trees. “What is it Smoky?”
“Something has happened,” he began, “the pack is acting strange. The Alpha isn’t speaking to anyone, and all the higher ranked wolves are avoiding everyone. There have been some arguments going on too.”
“About what?” Shayla asked, after he went silent for a long moment.
“I’m not exactly sure. I try to listen, but they leave when they notice me.” He explained.
“Is that all that’s going on?”
“Mostly, I haven’t seen any violence or anything.” Smoky sighed,”I think we should get back to the pack; if the pups are old enough to hunt they’re old enough to live with the rest of the pack. It’ll be safer anyway.”
“Alright,” Shayla agreed, “But let’s wait until tomorrow.”
“Okay.” Smoky nodded, “We’ll go tomorrow.”
They walked back to the cave, trying not to show their nervousness.

First off, to those of you that know me, I haven't posted at all in awhile, I'm aware my "Nightfall" series hasn't been updated for those of you that liked it, but since school started back, I have had hardly any time to write anything. I WILL get back to posting on "Nightfall" if anything else for the sake of completion. But I also discovered the marvolous "Fallout" series a few months back, and decided to try to make a novel out of it. For those of you not familiar with the series, "Fallout" is a series of games set in a post-apocyloptic future, and finds a custom made protagonist made customly by the player dealing with life in the now wastelandic USA. My story is loosely based off "Fallout 3" but with major differences along the way, so the story is original in that aspect. If you guys will read the story, I will make it as adaptable as I can for those who are not familiar with it. Please leave comments, so I know whether or not I should post it. Thank you. -AdamK
Your heart is sore, crippled up like paper.
Your voice is weak, barely passing by you.
Your body is tired, let it lay for tonight.
You are but you- a stranger to much.
No one cares to know you.
They do not wish to after all.
And all those times you told everything-
It was a lie, I love you became a lie. A horrible lie not one can ever take back to you. How could they, breaking your very soul to the apple's wrinkled core? It shook and broke, just like that. Lonesome and ever so exhausted of even thinking it would be different this time around.
You're so hopeless. You probably cannot move away from the pain, the desecration left in the path at the end. Then again, in the end it probably doesn't even matter, does it?
Once a joy, now a misery forever scared, alone.
