Chapter One
Samantha rolled over and jammed her face further into her pillow. She could hear him. The way his keys jingled, the way the door slammed angrily behind him, the clunk of his boots as he stomped his way upstairs. She tried to ignore him, but her heart started to race nervously, as it did every time her father came home. Drunk, usually. As hard as Samantha tried not to care, she felt panicked. Curling deeper into the blankets, she shook in anticipation and fury. Fury because he came back again. And again. And again. Fury because he was loud, obnoxious, and she just wanted him gone.
The footsteps came thundering up the stairs, pulsating through the house, and she heard the familiar, yet unwelcome “Samantha!” along with the crush of a glass bottle breaking. A howl of pain escaped from their dog, Poochy Pie. The flame of anger was ignited in Samantha’s chest, lighting her on fire, leaving her flaming from head to toe. She lept out of bed and rushed down save Poochy Pie. Her dog was writhing on the floor in pain, glass stuck in her eye, blood dripping from the wounds on her back. Something in Samantha’s head snapped, the spun...

CHAPTER 1

The claustrophobia had finally set in. In this incredibaly long elevator ride to the arena where I was to battle to the death with 23 other kids, fear's cold grip latched onto my heart. Then nervousness had crept its way into my nerves, making me tingly and numb. Now finally, after spending 15 minutes in this freakin' tube, claustrophobia had clotted my mind. With all three fighting for control over me, I was curled in a ball on the floor. Some impressive tribute I turned out to be.
My name is Grazio. No last name. In fact, no last names will be uttered in this entire story, so get used to it. A week ago I had been chosen for the Hunger Games. Of course you know what those are. The great Katniss Everdeen's valiant story of defeating the capitol and freeing the districts. Well the story is a pack of lies. The only true fact in the entire series is the fact that Katniss won her first Hunger Games. By (literally) stabbing Peeta in the back. But, pluagued by nightmares, and guilt, she killed herself two months later. And the Hunger Games continued. 10 years later, here I am, a black haired, gray eyed, olive skinned twelve year old, wearing only...

I miss my old house. I was happy and fine there. I hate the monsters who screwed us out of there. I wish my parents could have fought to keep it and pay it off rather than find a rental house. I don't care for this new place very much. I hate that the kitchen is downstairs, I hate the neighborhood and the area, and I cannot stand the animals that make noise in the backyard all night long. I miss my old room, where I can watch the sunset in the summer, I miss going for long walks in my old neighborhood, and most of all, I miss the memories.

Tess’s parents were shot down right before her eyes, coming out through the side door of a theatre. She couldn’t understand why he had killed them and not her. The murderer was young, maybe even the same age as herself. He was disguised as an older man, but she could still tell he was quite young, 14 or so.
Tess is walking late at night with her dog alone, thinking about her parent’s mysterious murderer; why didn’t he kill her as well? What motive did he have to kill them? She ponders over the words her mother spoke in her dying breath; what did she mean that I shouldn’t trust him? Who was ‘him’? She remembers her mother whisper some name so faintly she could barely hear, something liam.. She thumps a wall in her frustration, slips to the side and falls down a deep dark tunnel. Suddenly, everything isn’t as it seems. She finds herself in another world, meets the evil Magician and finds out the horrible truth behind her parents recent murders. In order for her to return home safely she must find a certain diamond that, in the wrong hands could do terrible damage. An otter strode silently down the dim hall.
His pelt was black as night and his eyes were as blue as the sky on a cloudless day.
He wore a black tunic, which came down a little past his knees.
From the way he walked to the sly glint in his eyes, it was clear that he was crafty, daring and fierce.
He was young, yes, but he was the most advanced in his classes.
He had won duels with experienced warriors, beat the best archers and had even stolen food from behind the cook’s back.
The Wave Warriors would be lucky to have him in their army, if he stood up to their expectations.
Would he?
He would try.
He would try with all his might.
He was Black Iron the assassin.

With a polite nod to the guards, Damon entered the large parliament. Candlelight flickered off the faces of the seven chieftains, who were seated in a large semi-circle.
Damon stood at attention and awaited orders.
No one spoke or even seems to notice that he was there.

I feel like you're breaking me,
I feel like you don't even care.
I feel like you want to break this friendship.
I feel like you rather have him than someone who can be a true bestfriend.
I feel like killing myself,
I feel like cutting myself, Is that what you want from me?
I feel like i'm always angry,
I feel like you're always happy.
I feel like giving up,
I feel like saying fuck this friendship,
I feel like saying fuck friends.
I feel like i had your back when you needed it.
I feel like crying, Just to make you happy cause that's what you like right..?

(Short story I wrote in a few minutes. I have no idea where this came from. ._. And this has no editing or whatever, I just finished it.)

At first, she would only appear for a split second. I would see her turn a corner in the hallways of my house and quickly run to see if anyone was there, only to find nothing. I would catch a glimpse of her in a crowded place, standing still and looking at me. I would see her in my dreams, and whenever she turned up in them, they quickly turned to nightmares. No one else ever seemed to notice her, but I always did. I never said anything about it, and after a while I completely ignored her appearances.
I remember one night staring into the mirror. Staring straight into the eyes of my reflection, touching the surface and feeling the cold glass beneath my fingers. Dark brown eyes would stare into my soul as I pondered the many thoughts that were swimming around in my head. I would always have crazy things going through my mind. This particular occasion was what mirrors really were. They’d always intrigued me; how you could look at it from an extreme angle yet still see the...

I’m sick and tired of it all
Run five laps, climb that wall
Ace that test, be happy everyday
25min. class lesson: due in two days

What’s wrong with you, Jordan?
Where are those ‘A’s you were sporting?
Oh no, you have a B, that just won’t do
Let me prod you some more, ask some questions too

“You seem to be slipping.”
"Get to the front of the race!”
You’ll never get finished
At THAT jogging pace

Yoo-hoo, girl, get your head in the game!
Idiot, doing the wrong lesson, there goes your good name
To most other people, I’m starting to come off as lame
But to me it's al the same: Run faster, think harder, now where’s that A?

Oh no, you never think that
I’m trying, yes, but it’s still crap
Compared to the guys stepping up to bat
Oh no, you’re supposed to be better than that

Now there you go off crying again
Everyone watching knew it would happen

"We're going camping!" Solimar said to her friends. Everybody cheered and were very excited...well, everyone, except Pamela and Sergio. "We're leaving in two days to MonteNegro, and we're staying there for at least a week. Any questions?" Pamela raised her hand. "Are we living together for a whole week?" "Yes, Pamela, we are. My parents are going to borrow us a trailer, so whoever doesn't like to sleep in a tent can go sleep there. Anyone else?" No one else raised their hand. "Good. See ya'll on Sunday!" Solimar got up from the BK table and left., like everyone else except Edgardo, who had to pay for everyone's lunch. He handed the 4 $10 to the lady. "Come on, Fransisco!" Manuel pulled his timid friend to the video game store next door. Since they were in elementary school, these friends have been together like paper and glue. Even when they were in Junior high school, when the teachers separated them, they'd still hang out at lunch. Now that they're in high school, two more joined the group: Pamela and Sergio. But Pam and Serg are like oil and water. Still, they hang out every weekend. All they needed was to make sure that at least 5 people were between them.

He respected bang, but it happened nothing. Anyway they hurried, because clock wasn’t usually wrong. Butler crashed bars.
When they came out of shaft, in cold room was bang. Bodyguard grabbed Pieter and with him ran across the garden and jumped in pond. He knew that pool is connected with house and it is going to be too dangerous to jump in it.
In the pond there were no many chances to survive. And it was late autumn and it was ice on surface.
But they haven’t got any other chance. Butler and Pieter waited for explosion and when they were face to face with fire they sink. Slave was all time holding his ward. He told that is Pieter really week, but he was able to be under the water almost much time than butler.
Bodyguard helped Pieter to come out of the water. Outside was blowing cold wind and it was really cold.

“Thank you, butler!”
Servant smile to Pieter and opens the door of red Ferrari. While driving no one used to speak, until Pieter say something to his butler and bodyguard:
“Did you hear when my voice trembled? I think that was 14th song.”
“No, Sir…”
“When my father isn’t near, please call me Pieter”
“Yes, Si… I mean Pieter”
They arrived to McChink’s mansion. Servant turned engine off and ran on other site of car to open Pieter’s door, but he was too late. “I’m sorry, Sir…” said butler. Pieter sent him angry look: “I can open the door! And we came to an agreement that you will call me Pieter, not Sir! We aren’t in army.” Servant looked really carefully and said to him: “Your father was looking trough the window, I really couldn’t…”
It was dinnertime. While dinner was Georg McChink all time watching Pieter and servant. Pieter felt almost like in hell.
When they finally finished, Pieter stood up and went into his room. Butler went quietly after him.

If i get enough comments i will extend it.

It was damp, smelled of earth and pine, I heard leaves rustle, twigs snap as animals scurried in the tree tops. I wasn't supposed to be here, this wasn't my room, my bed. I was supposed to me in by cottage on eagle lake. I was supposed to be asleep, top bunk with my younger brother Elliot on the bottom. I was supposed to be smelling fabric softener and hear the soft snore from little Elli, feel the heat of my cat sleeping on my chest. I opened my eyes and I could see the sky, black with soft twinkle of a million star and the florescent glow of the moon. I sat up, my body aced and I was shivering. My breath crystallized as I exhaled, it was far to chilly for a summer night. My jeans were caked in mud and my white t-shirt was clinging , wet, to my
skin. I got up, it was much too dark to be safe to walk around. I couldn't remember anything. Why am I in the forest? Was all I could think. I shuffled my feet along the ground, hands extended in front of me in case I fell. My stomach hurt and my right leg was rather limp, I didn't know where I was going, I was scared, every noise...

I know the Columbine Massacre anniversary was Friday, so I decided to put up a story I wrote about it. I wrote this a couple months ago from the viewpoint of Craig Scott. Please comment and let me know what you think.

“Craig! Get up! We’re going to be late!“ My sister Rachel pounded her fist on my door. I reluctantly opened my eyes to look at the clock. I had only ten minutes to get ready. I cursed under my breath and got dressed quickly, not bothering to grab anything to eat. I got to Rachel’s car just before she was about to ditch me. I tried to catch up on my algebra homework on the car ride to school.

“You really should’ve done that yesterday,“ Rachel scolded me. “You’re failing as it is.“ Of course, little miss perfect always had to tell me what I was doing wrong, even if she was right. I kept my mouth shut; I still had seventeen problems to go.

I was pleased to get more than halfway done with my homework by the time we got to the school. I sighed to myself as I grabbed my backpack and slammed the car door. This week was going by so slow, and it was only Tuesday. At least today was bright and beautiful, I...

Now that you have converted some of your favourite PDF files to ePub using Calibre, Doremisoft link or some other applications available which you want to read on your iPhone, but still you can't find an effective way to do it. Would it be a complicated process?

I surfed on the Internet, and found many people talking about how to transfer ePub eBooks to iPad, iPhone or iPod. It is quite easy for us to read ePub on iPad via the free iBook application that announced in conjunction with iPad, Besides, with the launch of iOS 4.0 on June 21, 2010, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and the second and third iPod Touch users can also read ePub via iBook application by updating the OS to iOS 4.

There are many ways to link and iPod Touch. You can share your ePub over your local WiFi network, uploding them to the Internet, and transferring them over via USB. But today, I just want to share a most commonly used method to transfer your ePub eBooks to your iPhone or iPod, that's transfer your ePub...

I only came to resolve a matter, nothing more.
But have you no shame reporter, whose words can bring either joy or pity, have you no shame?
You speak of him, a dearly departed lover of mine and a noble none the less whose actions have been all but harmful to this town, in vein as if he is just another commoner in the street, who sleep in the dirt and has no dignity.
Making a mockery of him though he died only yesterday, but what seems like only an hour to me, and then attempt to treat it with sarcasm.
How dare you. How dare you.
Try not to later state that you knew him well, for that I know very well you did not, and if so you are deceitful in your word.
I shall now take my leave, but know this, you are no acquaintance of mine.
And of such, if you dare to speak more lies by you foul hands know I shall show no mercy nor remorse in cutting you down and watching your distasteful corpse bleed and turn in that which it lays.
Believe me, no one shall mourn you. They will only regurgitate their last meal at the stench of your decaying bones and Rotting flesh as the as those whom devour the earth soon devour you.

My soul burned deep in agony, as the tears and blood dripped down hitting the floor, I grabbed the knife one last time. I looked at Chris, begging for mercy, I lift up the knife and stabbed him one last time. "What, have I done?" I asked to myself. "I'm a murderer, how am I going to explain this, to Jamie? Chris touched me in a inappropriate manner, so I gutted him to death?" I said to myself. There was a soft knock at the door. I had a mini heart attack. "Just a moment," I responded to the knock. Struggling, I pulled Chris under my bed and got the swifter and mopped and washed my hands. There was the knock again. "UGH, COMING," I yelled while putting on my robe. I opened the door, and there wet and muddy and had tears in her eyes was Jamie.

"Jamie....I-uh thought you were going to your Father's house," I said. Between sobs she replied: "Long...story...where's Chris...I..need him."
"Damn, I'm screwed," I thought, "Chris...he stopped over, a few hours ago, he's running errands, he'll be back, soon, though.....hopefully," I replied. "Well, call me when, he comes back," she responded, lifting her pale frail body, and left out the door.

I'm never good enough for anyone. I'm always in someone's way. My mother, who had me at sixteen, always complains that I ruined her life. My father left before I was born. I never had any real friends; they all said I was too weird, or I'm such a loser. My teachers hated me, because I could never get good grades. I could never do anything right. All my life, I've been annoying, stupid, worthless, and a waste of space. But they never even gave me a reason, so I couldn't even fix the problem. Am I too ugly? I know I'm less than average looking. My blond hair is a pretty dull color, and I never wear makeup like the other girls at school. I wish I could, but I don't have any money, and my mom would be furious if I asked her for some.

Am I really as dumb as they say? I always try to study a lot, but I can just never get the answers right. The teacher always calls on me when I don't know the answer. I know I'm not as smart as the other kids, but why do they have to hate me for it?

“Before we leave I must warn you. We are now entering alien territory, so be careful and considerate to you’re new surroundings. One stupid mistake can get you, and everyone around you killed.”

The safety instructor’s voice boomed across the large, air conditioned spaceship. It sounded oddly cheerful for someone who had just told them that they could all die.
Everyone tried to see where her line of vision was pointing towards. It was aimed toward the windows.
Kendra glanced through them and, and gulped. They were about four thousand feet above sea level, and the space craft had just started to pick up speed.
Her number one fear was heights, and now they were so high up, that she didn’t think they could go any higher. This information made her stomach churn. Making her feel a distinct unease, that would result in her throwing up all over the cushioned, leather seat. She didn’t see it as such a bad thing though, since the fact that she had to spend a day on this stupid trip made her feel queasy enough.

Just a short one-shot I thought of on the spot...Mother's Day is coming so I thought, why not? It's not that good, just so you know...

I hate her. I really really hate her. Sure she's the woman who gave me my life. Sure she's the woman who raised me all the sixteen years I've been alive since my father left us shortly after my birth. But I cannot bring myself to love her. What has she ever done that actually made me smile? She has always been a cruel and selfish woman who would do anything to get what she wanted. She would gladly hurt others for her own benefit, even me, her own flesh and blood. Everyday, I fear doing something that may anger her. If I did do something she didn't like, it was the two-inch metal cane coming down on me, by the hands of my own mother.

I left my home the moment I earned enough money from my part-time job to rent out a place cheaply, far away from the torture of that deranged maniac who I once called Mom. That was when I was sixteen, almost five years earlier. I often wondered how she ended up, but it was not out of worry for her. See, I never told her about my leaving the house for good. It is the same as running away,...

As I stand on the sidewalk thinking where to even start, I try and think of everything I know about Sam. It’s not much. I know that he has a younger brother. Yes, his name is Tyler and I know because he’s friends with my younger sister Jennifer. They’re in grade 1 together. I’ve even babysat them for god’s sake. I know that he’s a good student, smart, hardly gets into trouble, but he’s not really involved with anything like sports or clubs. I know that he lives with his uncle because his parents died in a car crash 2 years ago. I know that besides seeing each other in the halls and maybe a few conversations about classes, we don’t really know each other which really makes it hard to know where to look for him. I start walking towards the park, passing my sister’s school on the way. Her day hasn’t started yet. She’s still got morning recess. I can see her from where I stand, playing on the swings with Tyler. They laugh like they have absolutely no cares in the world. Right in that moment I’m jealous of them. I look just past them on the other side of the school yard and miraculously see Sam watching them play just as I am. Maybe he’s even feeling a little...

Something in his eyes changed. It started in his eyes and spread gradually until I felt I was looking at a completely different person. His limbs went slack and his knees failed him as he sank to the floor. What was happening? Was I helping or hurting? Had I succeeded in this mission that seemed wickedly thrust upon me as if I was the only one who knew what to do? But I didn’t know what to do. This was crazy and until now I couldn’t see how I was the one chosen to help this boy. Just another perspective. Just honesty. That’s all that was needed here. It was me. That’s all that was needed here. This situation that I was now trapped in was life or death. If I didn’t, couldn’t control this, he would die. And if he died, how could I live?
