She stopped dead in her tracks. She was startled. Her voice was completely gone. Shockingly, she saw that the hooded silhouette in front of her wasn't her mother; she did not know who it was.
Slowly, as not to alarm the unwanted visitor, she reached out for her ballpoint pen and dug it as deep as she could into the neck of the intruder. The mess was horrific, blood all over her face as well as his clothes, but Emily stayed strong. She clumsily tumbled off her bed and ran as fast as she could downstairs to the phone.
She hastily pressed any buttons she could until she'd finally keyed in the number for the police department. She looked up at the screen of the phone and realized it was growing darker. Someone must have unplugged it.
She turned slowly on the spot to see the silhouette standing there with what looked like a very large pair of scissors in one hand and a big tangle of wires in the other. This man knew what he was doing. Her eyes adjusted to the darkness of the hallway and she couldn't help noticing the man looked like he had a very slight grin on his face, as though he felt proud of himself.

"Do you have asthma?" the gym teacher asked me. My thoughts flickered to Emery. He had asthma, right? Breathlessly, I nodded. "Go get your inhaler. Emery, go with her." Emery helped get me up, and we went inside, as I was taking my last breaths.

"Give me.." I rasped. "Your inhaler."

"What?" Emery asked, unbelieving.

"Get me your inhaler," I said through my teeth. My head started to spin. Quickly, Emery ran into the boys' locker room. A couple moments later, he returned with his inhaler, and handed it to me. I pumped some of it into my mouth, and thankfully it helped a bit. I sat there on the floor a few more moments, until my breath returned.

"Shelby, you gotta stop these fucking drugs," Emery said, talking down to me like I was a child or something.

"You gotta mind your own fucking business," I said, leaning my head back against the wall.

"Shelby, it's only going to get worse if you don't stop. You could die."

"Shelby, what's happening to you?" Emery questioned me before school. I'd walked past him, and he'd grabbed my arm, demanding to talk to me. I looked up at him through my sunglasses, which I wore almost all the time.

"Nothing," I said quickly. "Let me go."

"You're hanging out with them, aren't you?" he said, getting angry. Angry was kind of frightening to see on him. He was usually such a happy person.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I tugged away from him, but his grip was too tight.

"Carissa. You're hanging out with her, aren't you? And the others. Dammit, Shelby! What'd I tell you about hanging out with them?!" This time I got free, but instead of leaving, I had to blow up on him.

"You're not the boss of me! What do you care?! It's none of your business! Just leave me alone!" I turned away from him before he could say anything else. He just didn't understand. He was always happy, something I didn't understand. Besides, he was just a kid. He didn't know what I'd been through, and he didn't understand what pain I carried with me where ever I go.

"Shelby? Are you ok? Kirsten said you've been acting weird lately..." Paige said, coming into my room. I laid back on my bed, closing my eyes so she couldn't see them.

"I'm fine," I sighed. "Just leave me alone." There was a long silence.

"...Has school gotten better?" I nodded, more than necessary. "Make any new friends?"

"Yep..." I said, opening my eyes. I stared at the ceiling, then closed them again and sighed. A fire started to burn in my chest. Why couldn't she just leave me alone? She was nosy and bossy.

"Have you done your chores yet?"

"No!" I whined. I pushed my palms against my eyes, and clenched my teeth. I just wanted to scream at her.

"You should really do them. You can at least do something around here. Don't take advantage of Blair."

"I'm not!" I said. "I'll get to them, ok? Just leave me alone!" I felt a wetness in my nose, but I couldn't move. I froze there on my bed, while Paige started yelling at me for talking back. The wetness trailed to the back of my throat, making me gag. But I couldn't move.

It was a winter’s morning when Nicola realised something strange. It was a peculiar morning, yet she didn’t understand why.
Nicola called her mum from her bedroom, but she got no reply. She tried a second time, and even third time lucky. Yet Nicola still got no reply.
Finally, after a few minutes of what was an eerie silence, she jumped out of her bed and ran across to her mum’s bedroom. She flung the door open with such force that it made a loud bang, scaring herself at first for sure.
Nicola took a glance at the bed. It seemed as if no one had slept in it all night. The bed covers and sheets were neatly laid down, there wasn’t a single crease.
She walked back to her bedroom, worried and confused. Thoughts were racing around her mind as she tried to focus and concentrate. She picked up her dressing gown when all of a sudden, her phone started ringing. She looked at the caller’s name. “Ella” she muttered to herself as she answered the phone.

"I think it's working," Carissa smiled at me. I sat between her and Rigby on the bench. Already, I felt great. My heart was racing, and I almost couldn't sit still. After a few moments though, my eyes started to hurt. "They're just dilating," Carissa told me. "Here." She took off her sunglasses and handed them to me. I noticed her eyes seemed sunken in, and there were gray circles underneath her eyes. She blew her cigarette smoke in my direction.

"Thanks," I said energetically. My mind was racing, I could barely spit out the words.

"Just don't tell anyone," Jordan said on the other side of the circle. "We don't need to get busted again."

"It'll be fine," Carissa said calmly, sucking on her cigarette again. She looked at me. "You won't tell... Will you?" Was she kidding me? I hadn't felt this great in forever! I don't think I'd ever been the happy; period!

"No," I said quickly.

"Good," Carissa said.

:"We'll give this to you free for a week," Rigby said. "But next week you're gonna have to start paying for it. This stuff gets pretty expensive."

There's no such thing as "fitting in" apparently.

I was observing I guess you could say, the students at the school. The kids who were "popular" were very obvious; they had huge crowds around them, and were acting very obnoxious. Apparently this rank was given to you at birth or something. Kids who were "losers" were not allowed to socialize with these kids at all.

I pity the losers.

Not that I wasn't one either, because it's obvious that I was. Not even the other losers would talk to me... Not that I wanted them to. I was better off just being by myself. So I avoided Jezreel and Emery as much as I could. I appreciated their effort; I just didn't want to get close to anyone here. I had too much on my mind to have friends.

There were some kids that caught my eye though.

I noticed them far off to the side, far off where even the nerds weren't hanging out. A small group of them hung out in the corner, seeming oblivious to others around them. While everyone else seemed chaotic and vibrant, they seemed calm and collected. Actually mature.

Cameron faced me. "Huh?"

"I said", my eyes focused on Mercury. "Could you give us some privacy?"

"I could, but I don't want to."

I scowled.

"It's fine Mercury, I'll see you later." Cameron kissed her on the cheek.

The sight stung the back of my eyeballs.

She smiled at him, glared at me, and left.

Cameron faced me again. "Now what did you want?"

"I want to know why the hell you're tongue was in that..bitch's mouth", I yelled. I had never used profanity before, but it felt good.

"Because she's my girlfriend."

"No, I'm your girlfriend!"

"Correction, you were my girlfriend."

" 'Were'? What do you mean 'were'? We never broke up!"

"Yes we did."

"When?"

"Just now. You and I are done."

"Just because you thought I was lying about", I lowered my voice, "the mythical creatures?"

It wasn't my fault! I was just there! In fact I tried to stop the whole thing. Max- my boyfriend- just flipped out. I'm not even sure what it was all about really but I know it ended badly. It may of have had something to do with Liam- the other boy- steeling something him. I do remember what happen though, Max started punching Liam all over the upper half of his body I shouted STOP but Max just wouldn't listen he kept going and going until Liam past out and hit the floor with a crash, but Max went to kick him 'MAX, STOP IT NOW' I yelled at him, he stopped mid kick and turned to look at me it was at this point we heard sirenes getting closer Max and I exchanged glances "Oh Crap!" i heard Max breathe as an ambulance and two police cars came around the corner. As the police woman arrested me I turned round to look at Liam who had now been moved from the floor to a streghter with a oxgyen mask covering his mouth and nose. How could Max do that to someone? I wasn't even doing anything but yet I still sit here in this horrible dark sell trying to plead my innocent.......

Helloooo rabid Dear Alex readers!!

I have a slight update, and it might be bad news for you. The Dear Alex series might be at a hiatus!! The guy that it is about, Alex, and I might be going out soon. If not then the series is not on hiatus, and I will continue to write.

Bu it is good news for me! Alex is majorly, majorly cute apart from the fact that his hair looks atrocious. But one of my friends just broke up with him, so that leaves the path clear for me to waltz into his heart!!

I've had this butterfly-y stomach for about 4 days now, and I think that I really like him!!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I might write even if we do go out.

From,
Loyal Author Claire!

I told Cameron everything, except the part about me being a sea witch. I don't think he'll be able handle that.

"So you take pictures of mythical creatures that you have believed in since you were 5."

"That is correct."

"Unbelievable."

"I'll tell you what's unbelievable. The fact that you're so calm. When I tell people my life story, they think I'm the craziest person they ever met."

"No, that's perfectly believable. You are insane!"

Oh the irony. "No Cameron, it's the truth."

Cameron got up and went inside.

I followed him. "Why don't you believe me?"

He turned around to face me. "Because I'm not an idiot! You may fool everyone else with that crap, but not me." He continued to walk further into the house.

I followed him again. "Crap? You think that my entire life up until now is crap", I asked angrily.

"I never said that." He kept walking, past the living room and a long hallway.

They once knew a girl who was the lead in the musical, and was a cheerleader, and was beautiful.
Some of the kids didn't like how amazing she was, so they told a few kids a terrible rumor.
After that, none of her friends went near her, and the others would snicker when she passed.
She wasn't told why she was being a scape goat, because it was funnier if she didn't know.

She didn't tell her parents, or the counslers, or her teachers, because she was so afraid.
She didn't want to be avoided longer than nessacary. She didn't want to feel bad longer.
But it kept going and going, and by the end of the year, no one would go to the prom with her.
The hurt slowly built, and there was no vent for her. No one to be with. Everyone was gone.

Summer was the same way, and no one went to see her. Some kids started to worry.
But they were still afraid. They would wait until school to start. They would see if it was safe.

I slammed the door behind me, and started up straight to my room.

"Oh! You're home!" Blair said cheerfully. "How was your first day of middle school? Did you have fun? Did you meet any new friends?" Why couldn't she just shut up?

"No. Leave me alone," I snapped, and went to my room, slamming the door once again. I paced back and forth, taking deep breaths. Calm down, calm down, I told myself. There's no use in getting upset. That wasn't going to change anything. There was a knock at the door.

"Shelby?" Paige stuck her head in. I turned away from her, and wiped my angry tears away with my sleeve.

"Go away."

"What's wrong?" she asked. I wanted to scream. "I'm guessing you had a bad day..."

"Wow. You're a genius," I said coldly.

"What happened?" I sat down on my bed, bringing my legs to my chest, and rested my face on my knees, that stung from the scrape.

"All the people are assholes, there's a lot of homework, and I don't even get it! It's so hard! Why do I have to go to school?" Paige could only shrug. I sniffed. "How's high school?"

someone mentioned your name today. It wafted over to me like the smell of spicy perfume - pleasant at first, but one that stings in the long run. My subconscious picked it up, without me noticing and, I must admit, it took me a few tenths of a second to dig up your file in my brain. I seemed to forget who you were for that short amount of time. For that brief, innocent period, I was unaware. The name could have been from years and years ago, it could have been a name I had given to a puppy many years back, the name of a plush toy, the name carved in a bus stop bench. A name that I had known, but never had I connected with a human being or a face.

An abrupt twist brought me back around, down to Earth, back to reality. The brain has a tendency for remembering crimes and pain. To make things clear, I am not me. If my name got caught in your ears, you'd think of a shadow. You'd remember a person, now gone. You'd think of her, but it wouldn't be me. The same name. But not me at all. And you should know, I hate myself right now. There is a chemical eating me up from the inside. The chemical not being guilt. Having a similar aspect to it, but being much deeper, much more...

I sit there in my seat
when the teacher sees me
I stare at her
"do your work,"
she says.
I look at her with anger
I look at my math page
The problems stare at me
the bell rings
"Ahhh!" I yell in anger.
people stare at me
I stare at them back.
they run out of the class room
I sit there until the teacher finally sees me.
"you may be dismissed," she says.
I still sit there.
"go," she says.
I stare at her.
She stares at me.
We stare.
"go... don't make me send you to detention,"
I stare at her
she looks at me.
"Ok, you asked for it, Richard, Detention,"
I get up.
Still staring.
I leave and walk to the office.
I stare at the Principle
"Sit in my office and do your homework,"
he stares at me
I stare at him.
"I'll be in there in a second,"
I walk in the gray, empty room.
I get out my math homework.

"Now who's gonna take care of Mike!" Jane screamed at the top of her voice. "Now how am I suppose to marry Dave! Now how am I suppose to become an archaeologist!" "Mike, marriage, archaeology?!" I said, confused. "Oh, I can't explain now! I just wish I listened to David." She sighed. "Don't beat yourself up. David has the gift, you can still talk to him." She forced a smile. "Gift?" Dave whispered as he entered the room. "More like a curse." "David, i'm so sorry I didn't listen! But I just never thought-" "Save it." He butted in. "Everyone I've ever loved ends up dead. I should have seen it coming." "But you did! You tried to save my life and I was to stupid and selfish to care." "Janet." He sighed. "I don't think I can talk to you anymore. Never again." She stared at him, her face appalled. "What are you saying?!" "I'm saying seeing you, like this, it just, it just breaks my heart."

Death was in the park. He was making a crack in a plank of the bridge right in front of them. Right in front of Jannet. "Um..Jane I think we should tell your friends to meet us at your place!" Dave yelled. "Why? The're over there in the car park." "I - I just don't think you should cross that bridge! It looks unsafe!" "It's fine! Come on!" But it wasn't fine. As soon as she stepped on that first plank, she fell through. Her foot was stuck in between two planks and she couldn't move. She was drowning. "Jane! No not Jane too!" He screamed as he tried to free her broken foot. Jane too? Then I saw visions. Visions of David's life. Visions of a serial killer murdering his family. Visions of a man raping his adoptive mother. And visions of a young boy trying to tie a rope around his neck. Davids neck. Now his love was drowning in the park while he knew it would happen. He knew.

The blood from her foot turned the water red. Then silence. She was gone. Gone. "No! Why is it always me! Me who sees it! Me who lives with it day and night! Why do the people I love suffer!" "It's not your fault." Whispered Jannet. Her face was cold from the water and her hair was dark and damp....

"Hey Cameron, ready to go?"

"Yeah."

"C'mon. See you at 10, Grandma." I kissed her on the cheek and walked out of the front door with Cameron.

We walked to his car and got in. Cameron put his keys in the ignition and drove out of the driveway.
-Half an Hour Later-
Cameron stopped in front of his house.

"We're having dinner here?"

"Is that a problem?"

"No. Not at all." It actually was. The last time I was here, which is when I was meeting his parents, it didn't go well. Of course I know his parents aren't here, but the memory still haunts me.

He took the keys out of the ignition and got out of the car. He then came over to the passenger side and opened the door. I got out and heard the door slam behind me.

As we walked from the driveway to the front door, I felt uneasy. My stomach was in a big knot and I felt light headed. Could I be transforming? I looked up at the night sky to see it was a crescent moon. Nope. I had been so focused on my queasy feeling, that I hadn't realized I was in Cameron's house.

“Hey, bitches!” Espen laughed throwing open the door. His blonde hair fell into his eyes. “Come on in,” he stepped aside and let us all pass. One by one, we all trailed into the crowded, alcohol smelling living room.
Music was softly playing behind everyone’s chatter. Boys and girls danced with and groped one another. In a corner, some students I recognized sat in a group smoking. A few boys stood in the kitchen, cups of liquor in their hands.
“Tatum, Nia, and I are going with Shayde and Lear to pick a game, you coming?” Celeste asked from beside me.
I didn’t bother to look at her as I answered. “No,” I told her boredly.
Celeste shrugged, then soon disappeared into the crowd of people. I went into the kitchen where Espen now stood. I took a plastic cup and filled it with tequila. I took a sip, but nearly spit it out when Espen smacked me on the back.

This is the first story i have ever let anybody read before. Some of my friends have told me it was good and i need to posted it. so here it is i hope you like it........

I was running through a pitch black tunnel, the cold wind whipping through my jacket. Then an evil voice said. “Run u pathetic, worthless, creature run!!!” then the voice would break out in evil laughter. Something grabbed my legs I fell face first on to the cold hard tile. The creature starting snaking up my body forcing the air from my lungs. I woke up screaming. I ran into the bathroom and splashed water on my face.

“Poison! Poison! You ok?!” Nick yells running up the stairs to my room. He stopped in the bathroom doorway decked out in his usual black hair, black t-shirt, black pants, and combat boots. “Bad dream again?” he asked. I nodded. “You ever know what there about?” “Nope their a little different every night.” I said while drying my face. “Well get dressed I have your favorite ready.” he said and disappeared down stairs. I put on whatever my hand happen to touch first. Which was my “vampires suck black t-shirt. I...

The best part of being a mother is you always know if something's wrong with your children. Even in death. Jannet was in trouble, but I don't know what with. Well, she has been hanging out with this boy, David. Strange boy, It's as if he can see me! When I watch them he stares at me with his cold, blue eyes. His eyes. They see things. See things others can't. Wittiness things others can't handle. Wittiness things from others nightmares. I fear for him. I fear for Jannet. Then, on that faithful Summer's day. I saw something. He saw something. No, please Jannet, no!

I bent back gracefully, my arms extended to where my fingers almost skimmed the ice. I slid along a curve before straightening back up, a black feathered sleeve coming across my face. My feet crossed as I went into a small spin on the frozen water. I skated over to the light blue wall, and took a long breath.
I had been training for a skating competition for about a week, and I could feel the bruises from yesterday throbbing. I’d had my fair share of falls the past week and it seemed today the day the pain wanted to play hell.
I placed my arms against the railing and stretched. My feet slid behind me so my body now resembled a piece of wood. I kept the pose, feeling relief radiate throughout my body. I inhaled and exhaled slowly, but my breath only contracted when I heard her syrupy sweet voice ringing behind me.
“I like you in that position, babe,” my girlfriend, Celeste, purred. I brought my feet in and spun around to face the gray stairs that supported the blonde haired girl.

(WARINING: The views expressed in this article are of one person and on person alone's opinion, unless more readers agree, and I highly doubt that, please do not comment to harshly as this is JUST an Opinion.)

I'm a SHINee fan.

I'm aware that it's near close to impossible to be with one of them.

But I still love them like any fangirl would.

And, I will admit, I'm selfish when it comes to the subject.

I Love them with all my heart, not that I'm quiet sure there was any to give or to begin with for that matter. At first, I didn't like them, but as I got more and more into asian influenced things, I loved them. I loved Taemin first, because he was closer to my age, I don't know why but for some reason I unconsciously grow emotional attachments to people close or at my age and that I like...weird, but anyway, then I fell in love with his personality and not just his smile.
As I got to know the rest of them (personality wise), I grew more attached to Onew and Jonghyun as well; And realized I have somethings in common with them all.

I loved to write songs. These beautiful poems of love, heartbreak, life and misery. I still do. Shame they'll never reach the world as I hoped.
But, life is life and death is well, death. I wish I could still play with Eyes Of The Wolf, my old band. I remember the lullaby I wrote for Jannet when she had nightmares.

'Prr, Prr
Of the Cat on the mat so peaceful
Cheep, Cheep
Of the Bird in the garden so alive
Neigh, Neigh
Of the Horse on the racecourse so swift
Woof, Woof
Of the Pup in the tulips so playful
But now please my dear Jannet rest
So tomorrow you take life's next test'

I still sing it to her every night. But she can't hear me now. Maybe i'm just not singing loud enough. Sometimes she hears me sing a few lines. I know because sometimes when I sing she'll start crying. I don't know why. Maybe she misses me. Or maybe I scare her. I don't know. The world is a very strange place
