Xiaolin Showdown Question

What are your likes and dislikes about Xiaolin Showdown?

For a few examples: My likes are: The characters, the story (for the most part) a few of the cultures they base it on, the humor, and the animation.

My dislikes are: The constant switching of sides and the adnormally easy solutions to the problems. It's a kids show, though, so the second one makes sense. I also was a little annoyed about the focus- it's usually always focused on Omi or Raimundo, even though there's so many other great characters to be focused on.

..Who knows, maybe in a month someone will answer this question (since this spot is practically dead.)

Wow, this is 6 MONTHS old?? If I'd known this group needed a kick-start that badly, I'd have joined up forever ago!

I love the art style and the way it's animated, the jokes and humor are almost always spot-on, and I love that it's an action show to boot. The designs on the showdown fields are to DIE for, as well. Christy Hui is an artistic genius. The music sure isn't bad, either. ; )

The only problem I have is how quickly the show...kinda rotted. Almost instantly after the first season, Jack became a "comically" worthless villain, only showing up to get his butt kicked. Wuya having a body became nothing new and her puzzle box became ridiculously easy. Chase Young and other week-to-week villains were often lame, and the wu lamer, plus redundant and usually changed in how they're used or what they do.

Don't get me wrong, I still love the show. It just bugs me how quickly it fell out of continuity, and INTO the habit of going directly for the low road.

Likes: Well, first of all, the characters. Most of them are very likable. I love al 4 of the Xiaolin Monks. Kimiko is adorable and I love her sense of fashion. I also admire how she doesn't take crap from anyone. Raimundo can be hilarious at times. I can relate to him because I'm really lazy and sarcastic like he is. Omi is such a cute little cheeseball! It's funny how he always gets his slang wrong. And last, but not least, is Clay. He's my favorite character! I love how sweet, gentle, and friendly he is. He's always there to help out his friends whenever they need him. I also really love his accent, and his metaphors. I also really like the Wu on the show. Most of them are very creative, like the Golden Tiger Claws or the Tongue of Saiping. Jack Spicer also makes the show hilarious to watch. His constant screaming and whining is so funny!

Dislikes: Clay, being my favorite character, gets so little attention on this show. I really hate that. Also, I don't like how the characters are constantly switching sides. Clay couldn't help it, though, because he was possessed. Omi kind of couldn't help it either because he entered the Ying Yang World to try and save Master Fung. Raimundo was the only one who really went to the Heylin side willingly, TWICE!

Hm, yeah, that's another good point. The introduction of the Ying Yang Yo-yos made it ridiculously easy for side switching. A bazillion times in one showdown, even. And without them, it's STILL inssane how often they pulled the switch "twist". It stopped being any sort of surprising, really.

Likes: The story arcs, the variety of shen-gong-wu introduced throughout the series and how they were used by the characters, the range of personalities that the characters had (and that they each had different cultural backgrounds), and a lot of the humour as well as throwaway lines.

Dislikes: Certain parts of the animation style, the occasional cultural stereotypes, and like you already said too much Omi and Raimundo and not enough of everyone else (despite the cast of characters being very interesting).
