((SO this is all taking place after that Deception series I wrote(and never finished but I am writing an epilogue to finish it off). Anyway. Like R_L said this was a mutual agreement. Couples break up. It happens. I would like to thank her for being so awesome and calm about it. ily. anyway this is Blade's side))
She paced back and forth in her own apartment. The light outside had disappeared as if giving up on her and leaving her without any support in this decision. The darkness had shrouded the den, not a single light in sight. The curtains had been drawn and all light-switches cut off. She would've ran into something by now if she hadn't had low-light vision. This decision. had been on her mind the day they were reunited. It burrowed in her head and crammed itself into every corner of her brain until she screamed for it to stop. Any minute. Any minute. He'd be here. She told him not to use and special shadow magic to quicken the trip. She wanted this to be as real
as possible. So he walked.
When he knocked on the door, she felt her stomach drop to her feet and her inner-self curl up into nothing--as if try to escape the fate that had been decided. Her thick lips parted,"Come in." The sound that came out was so far away. It was as if she was standing outside her body a few football fields away. But he must have heard because he entered.
The darkness was both their homes. They thrived and lived and were born in it. She thought doing this in the dark was the best way. But he clicked on the light and she saw his face and felt her throat tighten and watched as the world came to stop.
The two stood in silence for a moment--or an eternity--before she spoke.
The words were hollow, just like the inside of her body. Of course her composure was as hard as metal but inside she was as empty as a suit of armor. But a moment later it broke and her expression faltered into a sorrow filled one. Her lips parted to explain but he cut her off and said simply,"Don't worry; I understand." His icy eyes had been closed, and when they opened the cold cut right into her.
The cold pulled tears from her eye. The cold left her shivering. The cold pulled her into his arms. But no matter how the cold made her feel...she was relieved...relieved he understood,"Thank you, I was so worried."
"You don't need to be."
She pulled away hearing his words. She looked up and embraced the last kiss on her forehead she'd receive from him. It was soft and caring as if telling her to just relax.
"Go and be free of all things, Blade Howard." He spoke calmly before taking her hand, removing the ring he had long ago given her. He held it before her.
"Just know this: If ever you come back to me, and this sits once again on your finger, you must never break that promise again."
He looked at her, serious tension radiating off of him.
"If you do, I can't protect the monster you'll unleash."
She nodded, understanding that it hurt him as much as it was hurting her.
The pain in her chest was echoing throughout her body calling for help. "Thank you.." she muttered before watching him go.
Blade sank onto the couch, her limbs suddenly heavy. She was torn. Ripped apart. In more pain than ever before. But she still understood this is what she wanted.
The two were both on their own now.
Her reasoning was this: There was no "it's me not you" bullshit. She just wasn't prepared for this relationship as much as she had thought she had been. The decision to get married so young had been ludicrous....though being with him was never a mistake and she wouldn't trade those memories for the world...she'd care for him...forever...
Her fingers dialed quietly on her phone. She had shut the light back off so the darkness could take her away to a place of isolation. When Dante answered on the other end he felt the emotion on his sister's end e without her speaking a word...He knew she was going to end it with Terror, but never when.
He spoke slowly, as if pulling her into a virtual hug and nuzzling his little sister,"It's gonna be okay, Kiddo. You're gonna be okay...and so is he."
(( I didn't check for spelling or grammar so meh))
