Jason todd is the second robin who is killed by joker then broit back to life and is then red hood
when the first robin (dick grayson) became nightwing, the writers of the batman comics wanted Bruce to have a partner, so he wouldn't get lonely. So as each Robin leaves, they create another one. : )
