A/N Sorry for this crappy writing it's been a while....and I'm not to great at action writing....Sooo I envy those who can....



"I don't like this."
"As I recall, you were the one in uniform just a couple of weeks ago."
"That was different. They needed me."
"And they need me now....Babe....you're freaking over nothing." Artemis replied.
Artemis kissed the top of Flynn's head. She then stood and pecked Lucas' lips.
"What could go wrong?"

-10 hours later-

They're were in the middle of an intense battle. Black Manta's troops including the betrayer himself had begun attacking at only Artemis and Nightwing.
Nightwing swung his metal rods at the troops knocking 3 down. He turned to Artemis. It had been 5 years since he'd seen her use that bow.
She fired an exploding arrow at group knocking a group down. She quickly turned knocking a knife out of an attacker's hand and him out. Artemis say the surprised expression on Nightwing.
"What? I'm not that rusty?" She said.
The two then turned to see Kaldur'Ahm coming to shore from the water. His face angry as his mission had failed; the shuttle launching the communications sattilte was taking off.
"ARTEMIS BEHIND YOU!" Nightwing shouted throwing a punch at Kaldur who had his water bearers in shapes of sledge hammers. Kaldur quickly knocked him out of the way before shifting the water to a sharp daggar and stabbing it into Artemis.
"ARTEMIS!" Nightwing bellowed. His eyes widened.
"Welcome back" Kaldur muttered to her as his jerked the daggar out of her upper stomach.
Artemis' jaw was open and eyes widened as she sumbled back.
"Its okay....I got you." Nightwing said to her quietly. He placed his arms around her. One over the wound qnd one to help her lay on the ground.
Kaldur and his troops were now gone and the rest of the team on the mission surronded the two. M'Gann and Willow looked horrified as Nightwing began CPR.
"I-I don't hear her heartbeat...." Superboy said looking at them in shock.
"28 29 30" Nightwing couted the compressions he then beathing into her mouth 3 times. Each time listening for a response.
"S-she's dead."

11:50PM
The entire team had gathered to morn. Zatanna and Rocket had also joined. M'Gann sat on the couch breaking into quiet tears with Blade. Meanwhile Mal anc Karenapproached Conner who hac isolatd himself as usual.
"We'll give Aqualad for this..." Mal muttered.
"no doubt..." Conner responded.
"Hey wheres Nightwing? He should be here." Mal said noticing the absence of their leader.
"He went to tell Luke....and Flynn."

Nightwing stood in a warehouse. He leaned agansit a stack of crates. He looked down at his wrist hallagram to see a picture he taken when he was only 13. He had managed to keep it all these years. "We'll laugh about this some day..." He muttered.
Suddenly he heard movemet from within the warehouse.
"Luke?" Nightwing called out,
"No." Came the voice of Kaldur who emerged, wearing his Black Manta costume his helmet off
Next out came Lucas. He walked in holding Flynn's hand. A hooded figured came from behind Flynn who looked tierd. The person removed their hood to reveal it to be Artemis.
"I take it out ruse was sucessful?" Kaldur asked.
"Almost too sucessful....The whole team is in mourning. They may never forgive us." Nightwing responded.
"And still only we four know the secret?" Kaldur asked.
"This secret and the other. How is going on Black Manta's side."
"I have proven my loyalty to my father and he is bringing me closer to the light."
"Not without cost though..."
"it was the only way..."
"So what now?" Artemis asked.
Nightwing approached Artemis with a gold necklace, placing it around her neck."
"uhh...Why are giving bling to my dead girlfriend?" Lucas asked.
"Glamour Charm. From Zatanna. Physio camo spell i think." Nightwing responded.
"Yeah...she looks exactly the same." Luke said.
"Only to the 4....well 5 of us." Nightwing said motioning to the half asleep Flynn who still held on to his father.
"But to anyone else. She's a completely different person."
"Its time." Kaldur said.
Luke released Flynn, pulling Artemis in for a tight hug he pulled back slightly to kiss her lips and then again to lean his forehead agansit her's.
"What could go wrong?" Artemis said to him.
"Don't say that..."Lucas said half amused. Artemis pulled away to kneel in front of Flynn.
"Mommy.....where are going?" Flynn asked rubbing his eye. (well its past his bed time)
"I'm going away for a little bit....But I will come back okay?" She resoponded. Flynn nodded. "Be good for daddy okay?" She said kissing the top of his head.


A black haired caucasian Artemis stepped onto Black Manta's ship. Nightwing and Lucas watched from a distace.
"The hard part is done-" Nightwing began to say.
"Are you kidding? From here, it only gets more dangerous."
