Chapter One-

The last thing Robin expected at one in the morning was to have to go to the Batcave for some League emergency.

"What now?" he asked, tugging on his cape and rubbing his eyes. "Did Flash trip over his own feet again and set off an alarm?"

"No." The Batman replied. "Distress signal from the Cave, but no one is responding."

Robin was immediately on alert. "Who was there? What happened?"

"Miss Martian and Superboy were at the mountain, I can't figure out what happened, but I've sounded a Beta level threat. The Team is teleporting there now." Batman said.

"I guess that includes me?" Robin asked, tugging on his mask.

"No. I'll send you in if and when we know what is wrong." Batman replied.

----------------------------------------------------

The Team teleported into the mountain, mostly sleepy, but somewhat awake.

"Nothing looks wrong." Courage said.

YJYJYJYJYJYJYJ

The crowd was thin, maybe a few dozen people, but it was enough for the drone of voice to fill the gymnasium. The bleachers were all but empty of spectators, only a few parents and chaperones willing to brave the cold snap that Gotham City awoke to on the first Saturday of December. The cold that could be felt every time the door opened and a draft came in from the corridor.

Like the one that gusted across the back of thirteen year old Dick Grayson. He shivered momentarily where he stood and startled at the heavy hand that fell onto his shoulder.

"Good luck, Dick!"

With a wide smile on his face, thirteen year old Dick Grayson spun around. "Bruce! You came?"

"Of course," His guardian exclaimed, removing his designer leather gloves with a flourish. "I wouldn't miss one of your little math-things for anything!"

Becca looked down, arms dropping to her side. A misty blue smoke rose around her and she spoke again. Her voice was thick with tears.
“I have several enemies who want me killed. I can also teleport to other worlds. So, to not cause you any more pain, I'll leave now. Thank you for everything you've done. Willow will take my place as leader. I will miss you all so much. I love you all. But I love you most, Robin.”
The Boy Wonder watched as the smoke started to fade. A light appeared from inside the boundary and, without thinking, Robin ran into it.
“Robin!”

Somewhere in the Magic Dimension

Becca looked around her. The world was colorful but the buildings seemed almost ancient. Clean and presentable, just old-fashioned. Clouds hung in the sky and the streets seemed empty. Her breath was a mist in the air and birds flew around. Her footsteps made little noise as she turned around.
“Alari.”
Becca took a deep breath and started walking. But a sudden burst of light and a bamfing sound caused her to look back.

“Becca?”
She turned her head to Cheshire, mask over her face.
“Cheshire. Is everything ready?”
“Yes. Time to go little bird.”
Becca nodded, following Cheshire into place. Talia looked at her.
“Get hacking little bird. You need to get us in.”
“Of course, master.”
Becca walked over to the computer, typing in a few commands. She nodded to the others, sending them through the Zeta Beam. She walked in when they were done. The JLA surrounded them, thanks to Becca's warning. Young Justice and Female Justice stood along the wall. Becca took her mask off, a smirk on her face.
“You tricked us!” Cheshire exclaimed.
“Heck yeah. My loyalties lie to the heroes. Which you aren't.”
Cheshire pulled out one of her sias but the weapons aimed at her made her think twice. Dropping her weapon, Cheshire put her hands above her head. The JLA took the Hand under custody and Becca turned to the Zeta Beam, typing in a destination.
“You guys ready to go home?”

Cheshire, Lobo, Ares, and Circe attacked the two teams. Talia came up to Becca, kneeling before her. Becca looked at her, eyes watering beneath her mask.
“Get away from here little bird. Cheshire will find you later. Now go.”
Becca was pushed forwards and broke into a run. She had to hide. No way was she going to listen to what they told her. Becca leapt into the trees, jumping from branch to branch, tree to tree. She stopped when she was far enough. Leaning against the tree, she caught her breath. Two arms snaked around her and Becca realized she was leaning against a person. An arm surrounded Becca's neck and she struggled.
“Becca stop. I don't want to hurt you.”
The victim stopped her struggle for a minute at the sound of that voice.
“Robin? What are you doing here?”
“I came to save you.”
“Why? Did I cause you to worry? One little sheep wandered out of the flock and you exited your ivory tower to come save her?”
“No! I came because I wanted you safe.”

“Becca, you are hiding,” Nightress announced.
The young warrior stiffened.
“Your hurt at our betrayal has opened wounds that we should have stayed away from. Ones you wanted kept secret. But they were torn apart by our disobedience. So you came to have us suffer. But Becca, you are the only one truly suffering.”
Becca froze for a full minute before she reacted. She pulled out her escrim sticks and ran at Nightress. The blind warrior simply created a dark abyss and closed it again when she had the young girl trapped.
“Nightress!” Willow exclaimed.
“Calm down,” Paura said. “Becca is scared. Nightress knows what she is doing.”
“Ooooo. You're going to get it,” Cheshire said. “Ares, Circe!”
The two stepped forward, powers lighting up. They sent the teams into a whirlwind of confusion and dizziness. Some felt a surge of rage and hate inside while others felt a heavy amount of magic pounding inside. Nightress was unaffected, keeping a strong hold on her door. But a sudden amount of power caused it to be forced open, knocking Nightress out in the process. Cheshire went over to Becca.

“Becca,” Talia called.
Said warrior came out of her room. She came to stand by Cheshire and looked at her mentor.
“How are we feeling?”
“Fine, master.”
“Good. Up for a little training?”
“Please.”
Talia nodded and moved away. She nodded at Cheshire, who swiped at Becca. Becca dodged it looking at Cheshire with wounded eyes.
“Have you forgotten to fight without mercy?” Cheshire asked. “Sister, you have been gone long.”
Becca glared at her and readied herself. Talia nodded again and Cheshire attacked. She swiped her poison dipped fingernails at Becca but Becca caught her wrist. She twisted Cheshire's arm, kneed her in the stomach, and threw her towards a wall. Cheshire bounced off the wall with her feet and grabbed one of the swords hanging from it. Becca brought out her escrim sticks, combining them into one long staff. She blocked the sword with her staff, metal clashing together.
“Ready to give in?” Cheshire whispered.
“No. You?”

“Hey guys,” Becca greeted as she and her team entered the secret base belonging to Young Justice.
“What's up?” Wally asked.
Willow came to him for a hug, receiving a kiss as well.
“Nothing much,” Becca answered.
“How's the outside world?” Robin asked.
Ever since the Light had attacked Mt. Justice, Young Justice had been hiding under ground, underneath Happy Harbor. Becca and her team of girl warriors had been their eyes and ears, as well as their cover on all of their missions.
“Peaceful,” Becca answered. “It scares me.”
“You scared of a little quiet?” Wally asked.
“How can I be when you're constantly talking?” Becca retorted. “But that's not what I meant. It seems like the calm before the storm. And I hate storms.”
“There's gonna be a storm?”
Willow giggled behind her hand.
“No Wally. Becca is speaking figuratively. She means that there could be super villain trouble soon. Possibly within the next week.”
“Oh.”

TheEnd. RotS is cancelled.

Prologue-

"Yes, Master." the servant said, bowing.

The hologram disappeared and the starnger turned around.

He was standing outside of a mountain. It was pretty dark, probably near midnight. His silhouette shone against the full moon. Making sure all his weapons were loaded, the figure set explosives against the side of the mountain.

Backing up several paces, he detonated them, absorbing the impact of the blast without a word.

Alarms sounded throughout the secret facility hidden away in the mountain. Two people appeared. A sixteen year old boy wearing a black and red superman T-shirt and a green, Martian girl of the same age.

"What the...?" the two asked, but the figure tossed a grenade into the room and it exploded.

The Martian girl collapsed of the heat, screaming in pain as fire spread around the room while the Kryptonian gasped as he felt hundreds of tiny pieces of Kryptonite pierce his skin.

“W-what?”
“He told me if I didn't do the things he told me to, or if I fought him, he would hurt you.”
Robin stared at her for a minute.
“Why were you there?” she whispered.
“Huh?”
“Why did you show up? I had no clue where I was. Why did you find me?”
“Because I wanted to tell you something. Something that I should've told you a long time ago. Something I wanted him to hear. I was there because you needed me and...”
“And...?”
“And I needed you. But I couldn't say what I still need to say because he was all over you and I grew...”
“Yes?”
“Jealous. I became jealous and upset when I saw him hurting and hanging on something I always thought that was...”
“That was...?”
“Mine.”
Becca froze. Her heart beat faster. If anyone had asked what she felt, if anyone found out about this conversation at all, Becca would have no answer. Hearing Robin utter that one word left everything inside of her still. Robin came close to her, pulling off his shades. No longer did the hero known as Robin stand before her. Now it was Dick Grayson, ward of Bruce Wayne. The intense look in...

Robin rode up to the base the next morning, dressed in civies. He had waited till sunset, knowing Becca needed her rest. He knocked on the door and Erin opened it. She looked at him, not surprised but a little oddly.
“Come in,” she said, ushering him inside.
“Thanks Erin.”
She simply nodded and he followed her into the living room. The others were there and Willow stood up.
“Robin.”
“Hi. Can I see Becca?”
“Wait. Do you know what happened yesterday?”
“Salva forced himself on her.”
Robin's voice was an angry growl and Willow looked ready to kill.
“She didn't fight back?”
“No. But I have no clue why.”
“Okay. She's on the roof.”
“Thanks.”
Robin made his way up the stairs and onto the rooftop balcony. He froze when he saw her. Becca was standing with her back to him. She was dressed in a black skirt, her various belts and chains, and a purple top. Her hair was down and she leaned against the railing, looking out towards the horizon. She turned her head when she heard him step closer. A small smile lit her face.

Robin ran down every hall, every turn, everywhere. They must have moved her somewhere. The room she had no doubt occupied was empty. But her boots were there. So she must have been taken somewhere else. A sudden thought crossed his mind and rage boiled inside. He sought out Salva's room, looking forward to the pain the other boy would soon have.

Becca couldn't take much more. She was about to break. Her strong resolve was dwindling. Nothing was going to help her. Even warning herself about Robin didn't help. She just wanted to fight, to get free. To kick his ass into the next century. But she was resisting. Something inside told her to wait. Her thought were Robin. All of them. She prayed he would be okay if she decided to break Salva. But she never got the chance to try. Salva's weight was suddenly yanked off of her and she slipped to the ground. She opened her eyes and almost cried when she saw who had come to her rescue.
“Don't touch her you worthless lowlife!”

Willow couldn't believe this was happening. Not only was Becca slowly dying, but the others-minus Artemis, Megan, and herself-had been contaminated by an airborne disease. Why, she didn't know. But the others, too, were dying. They only had two weeks left. The three girls looked at each other, not wanting to cry.
“We need to find a cure,” Willow said.
“I know who might have one,” Artemis spoke up.
“Who?!”
“Cheshire.”
Willow and Megan exchanged a look. They trusted Artemis; but they never trusted Cheshire. She was a known assassin.
“Okay. You and I will go find her. Megan, link your mind to theirs so we know how much time we have.”
“Alright. Where are you looking first?”
“Star City. Where else?”

Artemis looked around. The dark shadows were easy to mistake as humans for untrained eyes. She had been living in the shadows her whole life. But Willow...she wasn't so sure. Artemis looked at the girl now. She was indeed pretty with her brown hair and eyes. But a bit of resentment curled up inside Artemis. She found it strange. She genuinely liked Willow. But she couldn't stop the bitter feeling that...

Robin's Point of View

I lay next to Becca on her bed. When I put her down, she wouldn't let me go until I agreed to stay with her. I knew her well enough to know she was scared, that she needed me. So I stayed. I wrapped my arms around her, feeling every shake of her body. Her head was buried into my chest, although I'm not sure if she was asleep. But she quiet, telling me she just wanted me close. And I was willing to hold her. My emotions were running wild. Hearing that the one you love, the other half of you, is going to die within two weeks is traumatizing. But she wanted it. She wanted to keep me safe and, in turn, had chosen love over selfishness. I buried my face into her hair, my tears starting to fall. She shifted against me, coming closer. I held her as tight as I could.
“Robin what's-”
“Please don't go,” I interrupted.
“Robin.”
“Don't leave me! I can't live without you! I can't!”
“My love, please. You aren't helping.”
“Don't die Becca! I won't let you die!”

“Wally, stop. You're worrying isn't helping any of us,” Erin said.
“How can you be so calm?! You're leader was taken HOSTAGE by a bunch of wackos!!!!!”
“I trust Becca. She will be fine. Besides, remember when we had to free you guys and Becca pulled off that villain routine? I bet she's doing the same thing now.”
“But pretending to be a hostage,” Talia corrected.
“Duh! Thanks a lot Talia. And you Erin! That didn't help at all! We need to do something but what?”
“Pay the ransom.”
All eyes from every member of both teams turned to Robin. His arms were folded across his chest and determination was set upon his face like writing on stone. The mountain was quiet until Wally opened his mouth. Which proved to be the wrong move.
“WHAT?! Are you NUTS?! We are NOT just going to hand over ransom money to a bunch of thieves! They 're villains! And I refuse to give in to them!”

Becca hit the wall hard, her head hurting. She felt his lips against hers, a hand trailing down her thigh. Just like yesterday, Becca had been ordered to dress in a too revealing skin-tight dress. But this one was a dark purple, so dark it was almost black. And she wasn't allowed to wear her boots. She moved to push him away, but Salva pinned her hands down with one hand. He had put a leg in between hers and Becca wanted to fight back. But one thought kept her from lashing out with everything she had. Robin. He may not love you, but you love him. You can't let him die.
Tears flooded her eyes and Becca allowed them to flow over her closed eyelids. She moved her head but that didn't delay him any. Salva moved from her lips to her neck. His hand on her thigh moved to touch her in other places and Becca had to bite her tongue to keep from fighting. As he placed a string of long kisses and bites along her neck, Salva whispered words to her. Everything was about her body, perverted, and twisted. Everything was wrong. Her head was snapped back so Salva could kiss her again. But he wanted so much more. He stuck his tongue inside her mouth, causing Becca to moan despite...

The news covered every detail over the recent termination of the Hall of Justice. And the wreckage from the Watch Tower very few had known about. It was then confirmed. The Justice League was gone. Pieces of the charred uniforms and old relics that were found only proved that theory. And the volcanic eruption of Mt. Justice proved what the world now believed. The superheroes and their “sidekicks” were now gone.
In a matter of weeks, crime broke out. Little could be done against the likes of Doomsday, Joker, Black Manta, Ares, Hush, Killer Frost, and the other villains. Chaos took over. Fires, man made snow storms, and every kind of disaster. These villains enjoyed doing nothing more than terrorizing the people. It gave joy to their cruel and twisted hearts.
These villains were only messengers. Only “preparing the way for the Light” as they put it. But amidst the chaos and disaster, several people watched. They followed these villains, doing little to stop some of their attacks. Most were stopped. Very few were allowed. And as these eyes watched, a new hope seemed to change the way people began to live. And just as the messengers had said, they were preparing...

"This isn't fair." Roy complained. He sunk into the plush chair and crossed his arms, a deep scowl on his face. "They took us to the Watch Tower and it was supposed to be cool, but now we're stuck here with nothing to do!"

The three boys looked around their confined space with a groan. All they'd wanted to do was watch a movie. They hadn't known that they'd put it in the monitor system. Soon enough Pirates of the Caribbean had been playing on every computer screen, monitor, and television in the space station. They hadn't meant to do it, but that didn't stop the mentors from being angry at them.

It had taken the League too long for their liking to find the source of the problem and take out the movie, finally restoring order to the Watch Tower. Batman was furious that the computers had been temporally offline....

A Worse Start

Washington D.C.

August 12, 7:00 EDT

That morning took its sweet time reaching Grace Emilia Ross. After knocking her alarm clock off the nightstand, dropping the soap bottle on her foot, getting shampoo in her eyes, loosing her brush behind the sink, not being able to find what she wanted to wear, and tripping over her dog, she was sent flying down the stairs, only to be caught in someones quick arms.

"You okay?" The disguised Boy Wonder asked her, placing her back on her feet.

"I was," she grumbled, pulling her thin, black shirt down. She was wearing some well-fitting dark jeans, her hair was held back in a ponytail by a black and pink striped hairband, which matched the pink design on her shirt. "Well, I mean I've been okay...er?"

"Better?" he corrected, cheerfully amused.

"I was having a bad enough morning as it is, okay! Why is this kid still here?" she called to her dad, who was chugging down his coffee halfway from the kitchen to the living room.

"Dick, I swear to god, if you ever do that again, there's going to be a burning fist in your face."
Laughing, my idiotic brother dashed off towards his room. It had been three weeks since I joined the team and there was a total acceptance factor between me and everyone else. Even if I did have some problems at home with my brother.
"Ugh." I sat down in a computer chair and looked at the room Bruce had given me. It was frickin' huge. Not only did I have a queen sized bed, but there was a 3D tv, a blu-ray DVD player, a Macbook pro, an iPad, and who could forget a closet bigger than my actual wardrobe? I picked up my Macbook and surveyed the damage done- to my Facebook, Twitter, and other accounts. "Stupid freaking hacking brother."
A sound behind me startled my attention for a second. I began to turn, but-
I gasped as a hand wrapped around my neck and mouth. I struggled against the person who was attempting to suffocate me, and soon tried to use my powers. I was met with a sharp sting to the arm and suddenly everything became numb. Warm and numb. I began to slip in and out of consciousness, when I heard my attacker say,

Gotham City, 12:34 pm

A smile lit her face. This guy never stood a chance. She pulled out her crossbow, aimed, and fired it. She laughed gleefully when the tip of her arrow snagged his coat, pining him to the wall.
“Aw. You should never steal from my bank. It isn't very nice,” she taunted.
She took the bags of money, throwing them down to the police, who had just arrived.
“He's all yours!” she called before melting into the shadows.

Mt. Justice, 10:00 am

Robin walked into the mountain, a foul mood hanging around him.
“Rob!”
Wally ran to hug his best friend, but Robin simply stepped out of the way. Wally slammed into the wall and Robin headed on his way. Wally followed, looking wounded and broken.
“Hello Robin!” Megan called cheerfully as she watched him vault over the couch.
He didn't reply. Megan looked at Wally.

Evy sat on the couch, watching some random program. Becca sat next to her, but Becca was playing cards rather than watch T.V. With a sigh, Evy turned it off, turning to her friend. Becca ignored her, continuing with her game. A mischievous glint lit in Evy's eyes and she sighed loudly. When she was ignored again, she sighed, leaning on Becca's shoulder. With another sigh, she placed her head on Becca's lap. Becca pursed her lips, trying not to give in to her laughter. Looking down at her friend, Becca released her laughter.
“What is wrong with you?” she asked.
“I'm bored!”
“How can you be bored?”
“No one else is here. They all went out!”
“So?”
“So I'm bored! I need to do something!”
Becca rolled her eyes, but giggled as she thought.
“Would you like to train?”
“No! Canary's training killed me!”
Becca laughed, still thinking.
“We could make something for dinner.”

The alarm sounded, waking everyone up. Becca looked up from where she was sitting.

“Nothing,” she said.
“Then why did the alarm sound?”
The mountain shook and rumbled. Inky black magic seeped in. Becca looked around. They were close enough. She put a shield around them.
“Becca! What are you doing?!” Willow screamed.
“What I had planned to do. Save you.”
The magic looked around, like a snake. Becca threw a ball of magic at it and it turned towards here.
“Stupid Cobra. Over here!”
“Becca! No!”
The magic looked at her a while, seeming to study her. It looked like a cobra and struck, heading inside her. Becca bit back her scream. She fell to the floor, releasing the others from where she had placed them. Her entire body shook with pain, eyes half closed.
