{Scene switch; Mana and Yugi are lying on their backs, watching the
clouds and giggling.}

YUGI:
See that? See that? Look at that! It's really pretty.

MANA:
What? Oh yeah! Um-- look... there's one that looks like a baby rabbit.
See the fluffy tail?

YUGI:
Yeah... hey! There's one that looks like two people killing each other
for a scrap of food!

{Yugi laughs; this isn't Mana's cup of tea, and she grimaces.}

YUGI:
Ah, I've never played this before.

MANA:
Really? My father and I used to do this all the time. He says all the
great Kings of the past are up there.

YUGI:
You think Bakura is up there?

{They look at each other; Yugi gets up and moves off.}

YUGI:
No one here thinks he's very great... do they?
He wasn't my father, but he was still... {he sighs gently} part of me.

MANA:
My father said there was a... a darkness in Bakura that he couldn't
escape.

YUGI:
Maybe there's a darkness in me too.

{Mana puts her hand on Yugi's, and they nuzzle. The camera trucks back,
and we see Atem watching from a hill some distance away. He addresses
the sky.}

ATEM:
Father... I am lost. Yugi is one of them. Bakura's heir. How can I accept
him?

{Tea approaches from behind.}

TEA:
Atem?

ATEM:
I was... seeking counsel from the Great Pharoah's.

TEA:
Did they help?

ATEM:
{sighs} Silent as stars. My father would never--

TEA:
Oh, Atem... you want so much to walk the path expected of you. Perhaps
Yugi does not.

ATEM:
{surprised} What? How do you know what--

TEA:
{chuckles} I can see them down there just as easily as you can. Get to
know them and see.

{She turns and walks off; after a moment of hesitation, Atem follows.
Camera moves back down to Mana and Yugi. She is nuzzling him, but he
pulls away clearing his throat.}

MANA:
What's wrong?

YUGI:
Nothing.

MANA:
Yugi...

YUGI:
It's just that... my whole life I've been trained to... {he stops}
Nothing. I gotta go. {turns and walks off}

MANA:
Yugi-- wait.

{Yugi pauses a moment, and looks back at Mana's face, staring back at
him; he looks away and moves to continue, but is stopped by Seto's
finger pointing up from the grass.}

SETO:
And where are you going?

YUGI:
Nuhh... nowhere.

SETO:
{springing up} That's what you think!

{Seto slips around Yugi and vanishes in the tall grass.}

YUGI:
{confused} Who was that?

MANA:
Uh... {amused, slightly apologetic} friend of the family.

{Yugi looks back and finds Seto lying on his back laughing. Seto gets up
and darts away, tugging at Yugi still laughing.}

SETO:
Come on! You follow old Seto; he knows the way!

YUGI:
{hesitating} The way where?

SETO:
You follow-- you'll see! Hurry now!

MANA:{giggling} Yugi, c'mon!

{The two run after Seto, who is jumping from tree to
tree and laughing eerily.}

YUGI:
Where's he taking us?

{Seto lowers himself from above their heads}

SETO:
To a special place in your heart... called Upendi!

[ Upendi ]

{He pushes their facese close together. As he narrates the song, monkeys of
various types dance to illustrate it. Hundreds of animals of all kinds
surround them, sweeping the two up in the spirit. The scene takes on
the appearance of a Tunnel of Love, with the two being swept down
a jungle stream with the matchmaking Seto orchestrating the
atmosphere.}

SETO:
There's a place where the crazy moon
Makes the monkeys sing and the baboons swoon
And the sultry scent of the lotus bloom
Will carry you away

Where the hippos swing from the jungle vines
And the rhino rhumba in a conga line

{The last few lines repeat and fade away. The song ends with Mana and

savannah again.}

YUGI:

MANA:

{Mana walks off to the main cavern, and Yugi goes back to his standing
stone on the promontory; Atem appears in the direction Mana is
walking, and he approaches Yugi}

ATEM:
It's... kinda cold tonight, huh? Come on.

{Rebecca watches from a distance as the two make their way back
into the cavern.}

REBECCA:
{hushed, to herself} Get him! What are you waiting for? Yugi, get him!


{She lies down and stares with despair as she realizes Yugi is not
going to attack Atem. She hisses and jumps up, rushing back to report
to Mai. Scene changes back to Mai's location.}

MAI:
{snarling} You're sure?

REBECCA:
Affirmative. I saw it with my own eyes.

MAI:
Yugi cannot betray us!

{Fade to black.}
