SBS‘ newest drama series ‘Fashion King‘ airs its pilot episode next week, and Girls’ Generation member Yuri who has been cast as a female lead shared her thoughts on acting for the first time.

At a recent press conference for ‘Fashion King’, Yuri cautiously remarked, “I know that I am lacking in a lot of ways because this is my first time acting, and I am worried about how the viewers will assess my talent.”

“As a singer, you have to spill a lot of energy onto the stage at once, but as an actress, you have to take in a deeper breath and focus on delivering specific emotions with each scene,” she continued. “Each profession has it’s unique appeals. I know that I’m still an amateur, but I have a lot of interest in acting, and I am glad I was given the opportunity to act.”

PD Lee Myun Woo played a large role in helping Yuri with her acting, as did her fellow Girls’ Generation members. PD Lee captured Yuri’s scenes on camera and gave them to her, which helped her practice.

Fans are all abuzz over ‘Black Pearl’ Yuri’s new and upcoming drama, ‘Fashion King‘, set to premiere on SBS on March 12. While fans were given a little taste of Yuri behind-the-scenes in previously released photos, all eyes were on Yuri this weekend as she got dressed up in a beautiful, yet sexy and revealing dress for a ceremony scene.

In the photos that were snapped on the film set in New York City, Yuri practically glows in a dark alley, elegantly dressed in a long white chiffon dress. Even though she covers up with a black blazer, the idol owns her sexy and mysterious air with her chic hairstyle, accessories, and of course, the high slit in her dress that reveals her gorgeous legs. Looks like ‘Fashion Queen’ Yuri is fitting well into her drama.

On the 27th of January, a representative of Girls’ Generation left a message on the girls’ official website stating that Yuri will be resigning from being a MC on MBC’s “Show! Music Core”.



Yuri will be hosting her last show on the 28th of January alongside Tiffany, but while Yuri will be stepping down, fans will be glad to hear that Tiffany will continue hosting the show. The staff also left a short message saying that, “Although it is unfortunate, Yuri will be showing a better image to the fans through other activities. Therefore, please show your support towards MC Yuri who has been presenting a good image thus far.”




Tiffany and Yuri first started hosting MBC’s “Show! Music Core” on the 4th of April 2009 but resigned on the 31st of July 2010 due to their Japanese activities. However, fans were elated when it was revealed late last year that Tiffany and Yuri will be taking over their spots once again starting on October 15th.
