Thanksgiving Day: A Day EVERYONE Should Celebrate.

Happy Thanksgiving Fanpoppers
This is really too short to be considered a proper article but I just want to take the opportunity to wish my American fanpoppers a very happy and peaceful Thanksgiving Day!
Here in Australia we do not celebrate Thanksgiving and I know that many other countries don't either. But it strikes me that maybe Thanksgiving Day should in fact be celebrated worldwide.
We all have our problems at times and difficult hurdles to overcome in life but when all is said and done, don't each and every one of us have thanks to give? I believe we do.

Help Improve Fanpop: Rate Users' Content!

Please rate your fellow fanpoppers' content.
Why don't users rate other users' content? That's a question that's puzzled me for a while because I cannot understand it. Now, I know that many people who read this will no doubt say: I do! But do you ... or do you just look at it and move on?
This is not a new observation on my part. I know other users wonder the same thing. Temptasia, for example, wrote a piece about this same issue over a year ago. Sadly, I do not believe anything has changed as far as rating content goes.

I am a smoker. I have been a smoker for 28 years, without once ever giving up. This is not a piece against non-smokers nor is it adovcating smoking. It is simply my views and feelings on what I believe my rights are as a smoker.
I have been criticized,harassed and even abused by many people over the years - mainly by those who fall into the ever-nagging, reformed smokers category. I sincerely applaud anyone who has wanted to give up smoking and has done so successfully. I also very much repect that smoking does bother and is indeed unpleasant to the non-smoker. Animal Cruelty: an abomination to God's creatures!

This is so wrong!
I was having my breakfast when the news came on. The first news item literally has affected my whole day... A couple returned home from work to find their 4-month-old puppy lying in a pool of blood in the backyard, he had been bludgeoned to death. Their other family dog was found hiding under the house - luckily he was unhurt. A spokesperson for the RSPCA said that this was one of the most horrific cases of animal cruelty he had seen in 20 years.
As a human being and an animal lover I cannot comphrehend how on earth any person (with a heart) can possibly commit such an act. A few hours...

Why amazondebs is one of my favourite Fanpop users.

I joined Fanpop in late January 2008. It does not take too for one to have favourite users - whether it is based on spots you have in common,a user's quality contributuion to the site, age group, etc. I had noticed amazondebs' name around the site a lot right from the beginning, but to be honest I did not think that I had too much in common with her. We did not really belong to the same spots and she is actually in my own daughter's age group. I did however admire her various contributions and her comments.
