over a year ago:
You guys realize that Harry Potter has 1966 pages worth of compliments and praises from fans of all ages, while this page only has 95 (as of July 8, 2011).
Not really. I joined when the pages were at 86, and I read through them all, but now I doubt anyone has done that so any newly added point is repeated. Also, when I came back – at page 400, people were only chatting. So I think that Twilight and the Harry Potter forum both have an equal amount of actual reasons.
To be exact, this page has 2356 comments including this one. While Harry Potter has 49,130 comments.
Twilight fans are actually using this forum for what's it made; to debate or add reasons. So, I think all of the comments added here are actually relatable to the post. The Harry Potter forum is used as a chat forum, so in total, the comments that really matter are probably less than 3,000. So again, they both have almost an equal amount of responses.
And also, I would like to point out that this whole forum/page/whatever this is called, is filled with Harry Potter fans putting twitards in their places.
One, DO NOT call anyone a Twitard. It's immature and rude, not to mention offensive. Also, no it's not. All of them are being rude and inconsiderate, and trying to show their superiority. They don't even debate. You're not debating, you're practically bashing – and you're giving the Potter fandom a bad name.
Really? i have only read the first few pages and lauracullen66 is trying to hold her end of the argument up by saying her (or his) brother who was 7 at the time couldnt understand Harry Potter
Yes, because maybe he couldn't understand. People read differently – I read all of the books in three months and my 7th grade cousin started at the same time as me, and STILL hasn't finished the fifth book because it's too hard for him.
1)he was introduced to twilight before hand, and it mauled his brain due to the overwhelming crap that is filled within the covers.
That's a horribly rude thing to say. Twilight isn't crap, actually, or it wouldn't have sold anywhere. And I've never heard of someone becoming stupid after reading a book. Stop trying to insult everything that has to do with Twilight – it's just a book, being anti- something isn't an achievement.
2) He is seven.
3) And btw, why would you show him the movie before even letting him try to read the books and let his imagination take over so he can create what his idea of howgarts would look like instead of one person's view?
Because he's seven. He's still considered a little kid, and from what I've seen, most kids would throw tantrums if their mother said, “Oh, but you haven't read the books!” I remember when I was eight-nine and watched Narnia without reading the books.
And im not saying that lauracullen66 hasnt read Harry Potter, but 90% of the people trying to defend twilight havent actually read Harry Potter.
I've also met people who haven't read Twilight and are HP fans. I think a few pages back, on Harry Potter fan admitted that they only read Wikipedia pages and that they know enough information to actually debate. It works for both sides.
And thats sad. You are trying to say why one thing is better than another and you havent even read the other. So technically, their reason is void.
No, I've read the HP books – I'm sure Cassie has read them, and so has YKI. And I could say the same for HP fans as well, most of them haven't read Twilight either so their “reasons are viod.”
I have more to say but I wont because 1) I would be banned 2) I am trying to keep this as civil as possible, but i dont think i can do it considering I have seen the worst, most unintelligent arguments on here.
Oh really? By who? Cassie is exceedingly smart, and brings up many, many topics of interest. YKI also is the same, and Katy has never said anything unintelligent. In fact, if you go back a few pages, you'll see that HP fans are the ones that have been arguing for a while and everyone on the Twi side is merely defending.
3) because I am lazy and 4) I HAVE TO FINISH REREADING HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS BEFORE PART TWO COMES OUT... WHICH IS IN:
6 DAYS 22 HOURS 26 MIN AND 23, 22, 21 (you get the idea) SECONDS!!! Yeah. Thats right. I DO have a countdown clock on my phone that keeps time all the way down to the seconds.
Good for you.
