Creative Outlet She signed the note and placed it on her pillow. Everything was in order at last. Her room was cleaner than it had been in years. She had subtly said her good-byes and she had written the obligatory note explaining her actions. The girl smiled sadly as she glanced around the room, her eyes coming to rest on the teddy bear that had slept by her side when she was younger.

Memories of happier days flooded her mind. Tears filled her eyes as scenes starring a radiant, untainted, younger version of herself played in her head. All that was gone now. The little girl her parents had been...

Castles vs. Palaces

Opinion posted 6 months ago
Castles The two terms are not interchangeable. This soapbox is intended to help you learn to tell the difference if you can't already.

The primary difference is in architecture. Castles were built as forts; they have narrow windows, drawbridges, murder holes, etc. Dover Castle is an excellent example. Palaces were built as places of residence so they tend to be much more sprawling and lacking in drawbridges and barbicans.

Another difference is in location. Palaces were not built in hostile territory since they were intended to be residences whereas castles were used as...

Characters I'd like to see

Opinion posted 6 months ago
The Tudors So far The Tudors has done a good job of characterizing Henry VIII and the people around him. The many anachronisms are to be expected, unfortunately. I am very excited to see how far this show goes and what this new season holds.

That being said, there are some characters I am hoping to see very much.

1) Jane Seymour- she's been around for a while, as long as Anne I believe, and it'd be interesting to watch her throughout the tumultous marriage of Henry and Anne.

Can Evolution explain-?

Opinion posted 6 months ago
Planet Earth I hope that I don't spark a debate here. I am not disparaging the theory of Evolution or making any statement for Intelligent Design here. This is intended to ask a question with the intent of getting a serious answer to my question.

My personal views on the origin of life and the Earth will remain hidden for now as I do not want to taint your opinion of this article or of me or anything like that.

Evolution explains the origins of life and how species evolved and adapted. However, can it explain how the Earth came to be able to sustain life?

Swearing in movies

Opinion posted 6 months ago
Movies Why is it necessary? I don't understand. I'm not talking about words like "damn" or "ass." Those are crude but not as offensive as the ones I am thinking of. Since I don't swear, I am not going to start now by saying them. I don't think I really need to.

It takes away from the experience for me when a movie that is otherwise very good, with an interesting plot, a talented cast, and excellent scenery and special effects- think The Departed- is littered with the f-word.
