Today is my own and my husband’s birthday followed by my mother’s in a couple of days. There are even more birthdays and anniversaries, and there is always much to do at this time of the year, so that I will be the one to keep it short this time. But I understand your lack of time and don’t mind you usually answering with long pauses. Posted 1 month ago

The only more stressful time than August and September until early October is before and around Christmas, what brings me back to our discussion, and I am too busy to think of anything else these days anyway. Christmas has already many versions, and the forms for other or no religions create more variation, so that it depends on what you make of it all. Like I said, I block out the whole commercial crap, while I enjoy the family gathering aspect and the beneficial spirit. I have to get back to the preparations for our guests, and I hope to have more to say again next time, but I am also interested in bigger celebrations in all Japan. 1 month ago

I prefer the weather now, after I suffered especially bad this year, because too much sun always causes several physical problems for me. And it was so dry this summer, although that is easier to bear close to the coast with salt and wetness in the air, what is always better for people’s health. I don’t know if I have already mentioned it before, but I live at the ultimate north of Germany close to the sea, so that I can see Denmark on the other side of the water. We have different kinds of coasts here, forests, fields, lakes and much other nature, and I like taking walks in everything. 1 month ago

There is not much new with me, although I also had much to do, and I furthermore suffered especially bad this year because of the unbearable warmth in Europe. How are you except for having much to take care of? I heard that there are storms in Japan at the moment. Posted 2 months ago

Big cities very often take over things from around the world, and there are normally lots of cultures and religions in Capitals, while small towns in the countryside usually stick to themselves and their rituals. I expected you to have something around that time in Tokyo, and your “not really celebrating” suggests that there is somehow something, although I understand that you say that there is not much. But you wished me a “Merry Christmas”, and there are even several forms of Christmas for other religions, while some people celebrate Christmas or something else at that time without a relation to any religion. You also watch and read about USA, most of Europe and others celebrating Christmas, so that it could be taken over by Japanese shopping malls. 2 months ago

I don’t like the commercial aspect of Christmas and many other celebrations, and I am sad about how much is bad for the environment around such events, but I enjoy spending time with my family and going through traditions each year while remembering what happened in earlier years. There is so much to do to prepare everything and not much sleep as well as too much and not healthy to eat in between, so that my body needs a long and intensive regeneration afterwards, but it is always great to be with my family that gets along very well. It is just too much close together, and I have to push away what goes on around me regarding people overdoing it, but I concentrate on what I like and escape the rest. It is by the way strange to discuss Christmas in September, but I understand it when people have much to do and have experienced that myself, and I am truly really glad to hear from you again. 2 months ago
