Luke
Annabeth is still asleep. She woke up once when I happened to be in meeting with Artemis herself. Good thing Zoe was there.
Artemis is not like I expected. No. She looks like a thirteen year old girl when I thought she'd be, you know, goddess-like. Actually I don't think you know, really. I expected her to be as fierce as Athena. To have long dark hair pulled back in one braid and wear a long white billowy gown with a tiara on her head.
So anyway we talked about hunting season and where the best place to hunt a hellhound was and how best to kill a bear without causing too much pain, and then I blurted the stupidest question.
"Why are you so young?" I asked. I expected Artemis to kill me right there but she threw her head back and laughed.
"I was wondering when you would ask, demigod. This is just the form I wear at this moment. I could become an old woman or a reindeer in a second but I chose to stay at the age of thirteen because thirteen is the average of all my Hunters."
I frowned. "But how come you have all those little girls in the tent..."
"Oh them?" Artemis raised an eyebrow. I vowed to myself that I'd lear to do that later. "They're not really Hunters, but don't tell them that. They're older sisters are Hunters and the little ones don't have anywhere else to go so we keep a permanent camp here. They stay here and grow and maybe one day they could become Hunters, but they're just kids we watch over for now."
"Oh," we sat in silence for a while.
Okay to sum this chapter up, Thalia gets offered a chance to be a Hunter, but I'll post that story later, right now I want to do this story before I forget....

Annabeth
-We had been walking for so long my feet hurt. I didn’t know where we were going and I don’t think Thalia of Luke knew either. They fought monsters like they were on autopilot, like they were deep in thought all the time. They both seemed detached, but one thing they did make clear was that we had to get away from the Hunters. Thalia obviously didn’t like them and Luke didn’t either.
-We finally settled down for camp in the middle of the forest. We ate granola bars and shared a bottle of water we’d (or should I say Luke) had stolen from a little shop in the last town we’d passed through. I sat on a log and stared at our little thinking about what could have happened to me if I hadn’t met Luke or Thalia that day about a year ago.
-Just then a satyr burst into the clearing.
“Oh, thank the gods I’ve found you!” He was staring straight at Thalia. “Come on Thalia Grace, we gotta get you to camp!”
-None of us moved. Then Luke cleared his throat and asked, “What camp?”
“Camp Half-Blood of course. I was sent to take the daughter of Zeus there.”
-Thalia made a face. “I’m not going to some camp for demigods without Luke and Annabeth.”
-I had to admire her bravery. Satyrs we met were always wild and tricky and just plain mean.
-The satyr studied me and Luke for a long time, then he grinned. “Whatever, as long as you’ll come. I guess I’ll get rewarded for bringing in three demigods safely…”
-That should have warned me, but strangely I didn’t feel scared. If this was a trap my instincts would give me a clue, but my instincts said that the satyr told the truth, but to still be cautious of him. Apparently Luke and Thalia felt the same way since they stood.
“If you try anything, satyr, we will kill you,” Luke warned. I knew he meant it.
-The satyr threw up his hands in surrender.
“Oh-oh-kay. Just let’s get going before any monsters find us. By the way, you can call me Grover.”
I apologize for not posting but I had technical difficulties with my computer... I'll try to be consistent from now on.
