There are two types of people in this world: those who recharge their spirits by being with other people, and those who do it by being alone.

Tamora Pierce While the list of upcoming books to be published is indeed located on Tamora Pierce's website, it's fun to spread the word and excitement about future series any and every where. Publishing dates are U.S.-based unless otherwise states.

Thoughts about the Humanoid Cylons, and Predictions for the Final One

Opinion posted 1 year ago
Battlestar Galactica Who is the final cylon? That is the question. As Season 4 rapidly approaches and BSG fans purchase the newly-released Season 3 for a quick refresher, this question is resting on everyone's mind. But the problem with placing bets on the final cylon is that the writers of BSG have said that they don't plan an entire series from the beginning (the way Joss Whedon did/does) and so it's difficult to anticipate their selection. I must admit that I was entirely surprised by the four humanoid cylons that were revealed at Season Three's conclusion, which makes me second-guess any of my predictions. But...

This is a simple request I ask of fellow fans of the fairy tales & fables spot: if you can, try to refrain from bombarding this spot with Disney-related links, videos, and images and instead expand what you consider the 'classic' fairytales and fables. While it is true that movies do rely as much on fairytales and fables as books of yore did, the commercialization of Disney's versions of these classic tales overwhelm the vibrant worlds of Mother Goose, Aesop's Fables, and Hans Christian Andersen. I wonder how many children are unaware that the traditional Little Mermaid had our fishy...

The Know-It-All: One Man's Humble Quest to Become the Smartest Person in the World by A.J. Jacobs
Just for the heck of it, one day A.J. Jacobs decided to read the entire Encyclopedia Britannica, all thirty-two volumes. Surprisingly his details about his adventure is quite amusing and he does share some very interesting tidbits from the EB. Or as Jon Stewart says: "The Know-It-All is a hilarious book and quite impressive achievement. I've always said, why doesn't someone put out a less complete version of the encyclopedia? Well...
