7 months ago: For it to be paedophilia there would have to be sexual feelings and/or acts involved. Nothing like that was present. However I don't think "loving an infant in such a way is normal " either. Because it wasn't normal. It was more of a compulsion.

7 months ago: Not the kind of book I like reading. From the interview with Jennifer Byrne I watched, it sounds like a pretty depressing story with not very likeable characters.

7 months ago: No. In fact it kind of implied the opposite. The fact he left so quickly that Bella wasn't sure she'd imagined him shows he knew it was the wrong thing to do. The atmosphere in the whole scene was imo purposely a bit creepy. At this stage of the story we weren't supposed to know whether he was a good guy or a bad one, only that Bella was attracted to him.

7 months ago: As far as he and the rest of Forks were concerned there were no such things as vampires so he was not doing anything wrong there and as far as he and everyone else knew (apart from a few Quileute tribe members and the Cullens themselves), his daughter was hanging around with the family of a respected and well liked local doctor. As to Bella's pregnancy, she was no longer his responsibility as she was a married adult living away from him. It was her prerogative whether or not she shared the news of her pregnancy with anyone.

7 months ago: Been to uni and I can tell you I've met a lot of university graduates who don't know what they're talking about half the time. And yes, I'm including myself in this group as well.

"Well, everything dense can move quickly". - True, if it's already moving and if it's continuing to move in the same direction at the same speed with no force acting against it (friction, air, etc). To get it to move from a resting position, change direction, stop, accelerate or decelerate, you need to apply force to it. And force = mass X acceleration. - from the little bits I remember from highschool science classes.

However as vampires also get much stronger after their transformation, there should be no problems with them applying enough force to move as they wish. The only issue would be great big foot imprints whenever they move/change direction/accelerate/decelerate/etc. But hey don't quote me on this as like I said it's just from bits and pieces I remembered from science classes.

Agree with everything else though so overall I think it's a good article.

7 months ago: @ Quaila: Then she should have just said so, not repeatedly punch him and verbally demean him. She didn't just give him a little slap or a small push (not that that would have been excusable either - but that's an entirely other debate) she repeatedly punched him hard and then tried to use a weapon on him (wand). It doesn't matter how you look at it, she was trying to hurt him and punish him for having done something she didn't like. Again I ask you, if the roles had been reversed, would it have been ok if it had been Ron who had punched Hermione repeatedly for having left them?

7 months ago: Depends on how many people participated on the poll at the time the pic was taken. After all 100% of 1 is still just 1
