Alright, people, so...this is my take on the beautiful kiss scene from 5x06, "Joy." Yes, I am well aware that we are now into the sixth season (which is already looking lovely, by the way), but my muse is fickle. Bear with me. It somehow manages to be both angsty and fluffy (especially towards the end) and may be mildly OOC but, because I happen to be a hopeless romantic, it works---for me, anyway. Oh, yeah, and it's kinda-sorta a songfic, based on "I Could Fall In Love" by the late, great Selena. (may she rest in peace) but I didn't use the whole thing. So, yeah. Enjoy! And PLEASE, PLEASE...

Her other arm was stretched out horizontally and her hand dangled limply over the edge of the mattress. Gin shifted slightly in her sleep and as she did so, her bare shoulder...

"It's too bad," he says, shifting in obvious discomfort. "You would have made a great mother." His voice is low and hesitant and seems intended to be comforting. His eyes flicker, briefly, awkwardly meeting yours.
The color drains from your face and your eyes blaze fire. Your entire body stiffens and, for a fraction of a second, you turn your face away, unable to even look at him. How dare he mock you? Especially now, in the midst of the pain of your loss and when your usual defenses against him are temporarily disabled by your agony. But of course he knows that, and, as usual, he...

A small pond was set in the middle of the grounds, surrounded by tall grass, cattails, and beautiful wildflowers. The early evening sun ignited the still waters, making them liquid gold. A tall...
