So in several reviews I've read for this movie there's been a lot of Amy bashing. Calling her a whiny brat.
And I don't understand why people can't see things from her perspective. She's a 15 year old girl who just recently lost her mother to a long illness, she's been uprooted from the only country she knows, taken away from all her family and friends and is now living with a father who she doesn't really know- a father who was not there when she was dealing with her mother's illness. She is understandably resentful. You'd have to be a sociopath not to be. And when she starts learning exactly what her father is capable of, she's understandably freaked. Considering everything that's been thrown at her, she handles it remarkable well. Although inexperienced she exhibits quick thinking and bravery.
