One Tree Hill actor James Lafferty has admitted that he was "nervous" when co-star Chad Michael Murray decided to quit the show earlier this year.
Speaking to TV Guide, the 24-year-old, who plays Nathan Scott in the CW series, also said that he is pleased with the new direction of the drama.
"Initially, I think everybody was a little bit nervous," he said. "You never know how the audience is going to respond to something like that.

Hollyoaks actress Emma Rigby has quit her role in the Channel 4 soap after nearly four years, Digital Spy can exclusively reveal.
The 19-year-old, who won the 'Best Actress' accolade at this year's British Soap Awards, is to leave early next year in order to pursue other drama, film and theatre projects.

Former Hollyoaks actor James Sutton has landed a guest role in BBC One's flagship medical drama Casualty.
The 25-year-old, who played popular character John Paul McQueen for two years, will appear as Eli, a narcoleptic whose condition causes him to spontaneously fall asleep.
Eli's close friend Jenna (Pippa Duffy) asks him to watch her cat while she's at work, but when Eli notices that she's left something behind, he decides to follow her. However, as he waits as the bus stop, he suddenly falls asleep and misses his ride.
