“But why? We don’t know God, we don’t know what he does.”
Chapter Five:

Wendy and Yvonne:

“There’s that guy again.”

“Which guy?”

“That guy that came over to me last week and told me he was God.”

Wendy laughed. “That’s the guy? I would have thought God would… I don’t know, be a little bigger.”

Yvonne looked back over at Benny. “He’s weird. Someone should do something about him – he shouldn’t be allowed to...

“What do you want me to do… repent or something?”
Chapter Four:

Jeremy:

“Yeah, right.”

“It’s the truth,” Benny said, holding up his hands to show that his fingers weren’t crossed.

"After a while, the insanity of the situation wore off and it seemed completely normal."
Chapter Three:

Alan:

"She wore very little make up and looked exhausted, as if she’d just woken up and remembered she had to go work."
Chapter Two:

Jean:

Jean got on the bus a few hours later, dressed in her brown Tim Hortons uniform, earphones in her ears as she fiddled with her iPod. Benny spotted her as soon as she got on. Without a second thought, he stood up and sat in the empty seat next to her.

Jean was young, sixteen, maybe seventeen, and tall. Her dark hair was pulled up neatly behind her head. She wore very little make up and looked exhausted, as if she’d just woken up and remembered she had to go work.
