over a year ago:
I stood up and dusted myself off. I then took my dagger and pointed it at Gaea threateningly daring her to attack. A noise suddenly interrupted the tense atmosphere. I glanced at Thalia. She took out a walkie talkie, “Annabeth? Please tell me that you have Percy. Oh, that's good. Yeah, I'll bring him after we defeat Gaea.” Annabeth? She was alive? And Percy too? Where are they? What was Thalia talking about? I pushed those questions aside and focused on the battle ahead of me. If Percy wasn't here, then I would have to lead the group myself. I looked at the people next to me, analyzing them and their capabilities. And then, I came up with a plan. It was a plan of pure instincts and logic. And best of all, it was simple. Piper would make them stay rooted to the ground while encouraging us to push harder and win. Frank would do whatever he could to help out. Luke would take on Octavian with Reyna. They were the best swordsmen we had. When he dies, they'll come help Leo and I with Gaea. Wasn't the best plan I've come up with, but it was easier to follow. I silently prayed to Athena to said my battle strategies over to each of my friends' minds. A voice echoed inside my head, “I have answered your prayers Jason Grace. Your plan is simple, but effective. Though I must warn you of Gaea's strategies. Remember what Annabeth found out.” I racked my brain for Annabeth's discovery. Nothing. I guess I would find out along the way. I snapped my attention back to the present. I was met with full grins from everybody and an uneasy one from Leo. I would have to ask him about that later if we survive. No, when we survive. It was five trained demigods against mother earth and a a skinny boy. What harm could they do? “Never underestimate us Jason Grace,” Gaea smiled. Suddenly my instincts yelled move. I turned around and was met with a sword meant to slash my face stopped by Reyna. Luke was the beholder of the sword. His eyes looked brown. But it flickered with blue and worry. He and Reyna went into a full fledged battle. “GO FIGHT HER!” Reyna yelled. My mind was still frozen but my legs obeyed the command. I ran to Gaea. She thrust her hands into the ground and pulled up 2 feet thick in width vines. “Attack!” she commanded. “Jason, MOVE!” Piper's voice rung out clearly. I jumped and slashed the vines in half, but they kept reforming. Fire. Clearly, Piper was thinking of the same thing when she yelled, “LEO! Help Jason! I'll take on augar dude.” He nodded and dashed towards me. Frank slowly crept up behind Octavian-as Piper was distracting him- raised his arms and made a mind blowing blow. Next thing I knew, he was cheering loudly, “I've been waiting to do that for centuries!” I chuckled as Leo threw dozens of fire balls at Gaea. The vines were starting to burn. I raised out my sword and summoned a bit of lightning to speed it up. Everrything sizzled for a moment before turning into ashes. “Stop fighting us Gaea, you should go back to sleep, you will enjoy it.” She laughed, and before we knew it, we were swarmed by hellhounds. Luke and Reyna's battle stopped, and then I knew, she could only control so many things at once. The others seemed to get that too as they all went charging at Gaea, detroying anything that got in their way. “It's not working! You guys, form a barrier around me and protect me! Trust me!” Reyna yelled. We did what we were told to do, fighting off anything. Reyna's chant slowly got louder, “Et nomine Circe cadentes omnes morimur. Adorabunt malum bonum. Di nostris scire fas auxilio opportuno.” A little flash of light appeared and whipped through the area, disintegrating everything. When it got to Gaea, it stayed on her. While 13 beams of light swirled around her. To me, it was amazingly beautiful, to Gaea it was terribily horrible. “Father! You can't do this!” she shrieked. Thanks Chaos, I thought. The last thing I saw was Annabeth and Thalia, before everything went black.
